Watching this, I was struck by the realization that no pedal over the years has inspired me more creatively than a delay. Whatever it is that delay does for me, the Empress seems to have it in plenty, especially when you turn on the dirt.
That Whispy mode writes intros and interludes for you I like how it’s just on the edge of being glitchy but it’s smooth enough it doesn’t sound artificial.
The Echosystem was my first "big box" delay after decades of using single delay stomps. I moved it on about three years ago when I started getting back into modellers and multi-fx. But boy, do I think about this pedal regularly and miss the sound and functionality. It's a stunning thing, the tape, analog and filter sweep delays were my favourites.
It’s an awesome delay. I sold mine a little while ago to fund an LVX, but wouldn’t mind the Echosystem again. Two different delay types though. I had wondered if like Strymon, Empress might update the Echosystem soonish, as it’s now getting on a bit re hardware.
Echosystem has it's own interesting sound/texture to the delay voicings. Not an exact recreation of anything in particular but many sounds of its own. I like how the delays sound robust. Many delay pedals suffer from sounding super thin compared to the best rack unit delays.

Delay and distortion = life

The whisky delay sounds soooo like John Frusciante solo albums.... Great review dude !
End-game digital delay, love it, forever stayer on the board and in the mix.
Delay-pedal demos are the best way to chill before bed.
Many thanks for another great demo and also for not breakdancing! 😉✌️❤️
:p
Fantastic musicality indeed!

ok that melody with that note bend at around 3:57 REALLY stuck out for some reason, feels like it made a REALLY resonate harmony that I love!

Yeah it will be fun to see what they do next

I'm pretty impressed, it definitely sounds more like a studio processor than a pedal running on 300mA!
Aha...one from the Cannucks✌
I like it man but almost $500 us dollars. Pricey. Yikes. Take care buddy 😎✌️🎸💯
I thought the same but far out of you only ever need one delay to do it all....
Did we miss a podcast Uncle Leon?
I've been away so we'll resume soon!
