I know that it’s always easier to just get it done instead of recording, so I appreciate you taking the time. I just watched another one and I was confused why they removed the radiator fan and coolant lines to replace 🤷‍♂️

any thoughts on the Goodyear Gatorback belts(AKA Continental Quiet Belt)?
I run them on all my vehicles - no complaints

You did a great job buddy! How many miles you've got on that Jetta? Did you change the timing belt and, if yes, at what mileage? I am asking because i HAVE THE SAME ENGINE ON MY 2013 Golf TDI 4D-HB. Cheers from Montreal, Canada!

I'm currently having mine done at 123,000. They recommend 120 to 125

100k or 8-10 years. For those who are wondering you can't get enough rotation in the tensioner from above you have to go in from underneath.

Simple straightforward video. Exactly what is needed. The Torx sizes would have been the icing on the cake.

My 2014 TDI has a very faint sounding chirp with only 74,000 miles. I pour a tad of water on it and it stops for a minute then starts again. Quietens down the warmer it is outside. Hope a belt change fixes mine.

Right?! Rusted in torx bolts? What a mess that can become very quickly. I don't know how many bit sockets I have destroyed over the years on my Jeeps.

Thank you. Just what I was looking for! What is that sound at 4:47? Sounds like bird! My 2014 Jetta Tdi makes the same noise!

Great. How easy is it to take off the tensioner to have it replaced? Looks tight in there

Great video. Took me a couple different tries to slide the belt iver the a/c pulley but i eventually got it. Had to push up the tension pulley further than id expected. Looked like the belt was going to be too short then oh it popped right on. Oh one tip if you dont have a 16mm wrench a 5/8 wrench fits fine.

Thanks for posting the vid. Much appreciated. Not as bad as I thought. Manuals are great, but some things I just need to see someone else do before I venture. Cheers.

There’s actually padding on the oil pan? To catch drips, or for noise insulation?

I got quoted $220. Don't mix this up with the timing belt. Completely different and is way more costly.
