I know that it’s always easier to just get it done instead of recording, so I appreciate you taking the time. I just watched another one and I was confused why they removed the radiator fan and coolant lines to replace 🤷♂️
Great video. Took me a couple different tries to slide the belt iver the a/c pulley but i eventually got it. Had to push up the tension pulley further than id expected. Looked like the belt was going to be too short then oh it popped right on. Oh one tip if you dont have a 16mm wrench a 5/8 wrench fits fine.
My 2014 TDI has a very faint sounding chirp with only 74,000 miles. I pour a tad of water on it and it stops for a minute then starts again. Quietens down the warmer it is outside. Hope a belt change fixes mine.
Thanks for posting the vid. Much appreciated. Not as bad as I thought. Manuals are great, but some things I just need to see someone else do before I venture. Cheers.
You did a great job buddy! How many miles you've got on that Jetta? Did you change the timing belt and, if yes, at what mileage? I am asking because i HAVE THE SAME ENGINE ON MY 2013 Golf TDI 4D-HB. Cheers from Montreal, Canada!
This is the only clear accurate video on TH-cam covering belt replacement cheers
Simple straightforward video. Exactly what is needed. The Torx sizes would have been the icing on the cake.

Thanks for the video. The camerawork and your explaination was all I needed to get the job done.
100k or 8-10 years. For those who are wondering you can't get enough rotation in the tensioner from above you have to go in from underneath.
Thank you!

Great video homie seen videos of replacing the alternator but not the belt also 👏🏾👏🏾 now I got some work to do
Told me what I needed to know. Thank you.
Video is beautiful. Thanks for walking us through it!
Thank you so much. It's clear what has to be done even tho it's such a tight and awkward place to repair something

This is actually a pretty thorough video thank for the help

Thank you. Just what I was looking for! What is that sound at 4:47? Sounds like bird! My 2014 Jetta Tdi makes the same noise!
Thank you. Simple to the point video. Perfect.
It’s possible to do it from the top, but it’s a real pain in the butt. A serpentine belt tool really helps.
Just wondering, does one need to remove the serpentine belt to get to the timing belt? Cheers
Great. How easy is it to take off the tensioner to have it replaced? Looks tight in there
Man, thank you so much... you save me a lot of $$$$$$ thank you thank you.. very easy and accurate your tutorial..
so biggest thing to remember to take the tension off is Lefty-Tighty Righty-Loosey LOL
So does this one only hook up to the alternator and actual condensor
Is it supposed to sound that loud while running?
Great video. Thanks so much.
Thanks very much - very easy to follow!
Would it be similar or the same for a vw polo 1.2 petrol 2006??
Best video out there!
Thank you
There’s actually padding on the oil pan? To catch drips, or for noise insulation?
Noise, same with under the hood
Am gona be doin mine today for first time jetta s 2.0
I have that car, it’s much easier to do any the process is different.
WHAT ABOUT REPLACING THE TENSIONER
Hey how tight are u suppose to tighten the tensioner after u get the belt on?
It’s automatic......
I also put a thumbs up & subscribed to encourage you keep up the great work!
Straight forward....anyone needing a belt diagram don't need to work on cars
any thoughts on the Goodyear Gatorback belts(AKA Continental Quiet Belt)?
I run them on all my vehicles - no complaints
I like them they have been good to me.
Great job and video
Nice job Jerry.I wonder what the dealer would of charged you?
Prolly couple hundred bucks
I recently went to VW and they suggested to replace mine for $1,200. I laughed
I got quoted $220. Don't mix this up with the timing belt. Completely different and is way more costly.
Legend
Fuck torx bits!! Im systematically replacing those on my TJ as repair or modify it.
Right they are brutal
Right?! Rusted in torx bolts? What a mess that can become very quickly. I don't know how many bit sockets I have destroyed over the years on my Jeeps.

I'm currently having mine done at 123,000. They recommend 120 to 125
Nice...
