Did the airbags on 2000 honda odyssey over 15 years ago. No issues with them and they made a huge difference for ride quality and levelling with heavy loading. I put the air valve beside the gas cap. I bought a 2012 stock 4runner and don't know yet whether I'm going this way again but I love the adjustability of it.
Nice work, and a Sweet 4Runner! I just picked up a 2022 4Runner. I did Airbags years ago on a 1970 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible with a transplanted 68 GTO engine (400 ci) Hurst 4 speed. I installed a small onboard compressor with an under dash controller mounted for increasing or decreasing air pressure! I remember how bouncy the ride was if you did not deflate enough! I believe it was a JC WHITNEY Kit.
I use airbags on my F250 diesel. I love them for pulling heavy loads. I will never have a truck without them again. I didn’t know they had bags for 4Runners. I have a 23 TRD off-road. I’m going to have to get a set for it. I don’t know if you can do it on the 4Runner but I put my shrader valve by my fuel cap so it would be protected from the mud
Thank you for your comment….the ride quality is night and day difference..Not sure if there’s room for the shearer valve in that location (I haven’t looked)..but this kit comes with a long 1/4” air line enough to install it almost anywhere.!!This kit 100% recommended..
Hi! Great video! Do you happen to have an aftermarket lift? I have a toytec which came with new rear springs. want to know if this kit will work with my setup. Thanks!!!
It doesn’t feel too stiff, it’s definitely better than before, I inflated them to 35 psi when towing trailer and I can feel the difference, doesn’t sway as much now. I deflated them to 5 psi when not towing. I like them.
@@SpinningwrencheswithJ have you experienced any problems with that. I’ve read that Airlift sells custom length / diameter bags for lifted rear coil springs. I have a 5” gap about my bags and wondering if I should replace them or not.
@@williamhendrix3753 no..I haven’t had any issues whatsoever with the way they fit inside the spring. About the length I don’t have an answer for you. You can always call Air Lift and find out if they can custom make a set for your application.
Thanks for the informative install. I've been contemplating doing the same when I use my hitchrack motorcycle carrier (about 300 lb on the tongue with fueled up bike and carrier). For now, I put some Toytec progressive rear springs along with Bilstein 5160s and it doesn't sag too much, but I've always liked how air bags feel when there is a load in the back. I probably have to put my nipples higher up though as I've bashed my bumper too many times off-roading and even my exhaust pipe end looks like a lima bean now (instead of the stock oval shape).
Thank you for your comment..I’m glad my video was informative and helpful, so far I’m satisfied with the results and the ride experience is a lot better now.!!

Thank you.!!
Yes I do have a 3” skyjacker lift kit on it..the bags fit perfectly inside the springs..no problem at all.!!
I hope this helps.!!
How heavy is the total weight of trailer when full?
About 2500 lbs
How stiff did it make your ride?
It doesn’t feel too stiff, it’s definitely better than before, I inflated them to 35 psi when towing trailer and I can feel the difference, doesn’t sway as much now. I deflated them to 5 psi when not towing. I like them.
You can adjust the pressure to get the ride quality you want.
Did the bags touch the top of your coil? Or do you have a space between them?
No they don’t, they rest at the bottom of the coil…!!
