Although I disagree on the order, I thought the ranking was pretty spot on. Great video as usual, I think you should rank King Diamond albums and Anthrax albums soon.
@BryceTalksMetal I think that Welcome Home (Sanitarium)’s intro was heavily inspired by GW’s Streetkiller on this album. If you haven’t you should listen to it.
First of all, you are WAY too young to own cassettes, that is for my age group! OK, now that I've established you are a young un', onto my surprise. As you predicted, Powerslave at #8 when it's the biggest poster on your wall was a stunner, figured with Aces High, Two Minutes, the title tack and the greatest song of all time, Ancient Mariner, would be higher. Oh, and their last instrumental which they played when Queensryche supported them at Radio City Music Hall in which I was in audience. Bruce has come down with a cold or something, not sure how many times they played Losfer Words. OK, Out of the Cellar, one of the first 'metal' records I bought. Defenders, probably my fave from the Metal God. Man, what a strong album top to bottom. Tooth, what can I say? Alone Again, greatest ballad of all time, IMO. Donny and the boys loving life, writing great tunes a few years before it all fell apart. But we got Donny solo which is probably the greatest he's ever done. So a silver lining, perhaps. Warning, no brainer top 10. Still listen to it regularly and am hard pressed to pick a fave, too many to choose from. But Roads is always a must listen. Embarrassingly enough, never got the debut from Great White. I will have to give it a listen because what you played is fantastic. Surely there is a lot more of it on that recording. Doro. You can't say enough about maybe the greatest female vocalist from the 80's. Love her and great choice. That quintessential album with the lightning bolts on it. yeah, that's probably their best with the one with all the crosses on it a close second. I completely agree that after the Black Album which I really dug but don't listen to anymore, disappointing releases. Except maybe the cover of Whiskey, that was really good. Can't go wrong with Blackie. Said in a previous comment W.A.S.P. was underrated and underappreciated. Oh, I mean the original, not today's which is unfortunate. Never got into the 'black metal' but always appreciated King Diamond, what a vocalist. Now, Dio not making it with Last in Line is a travesty. Yes, I know there is some sentiment of the last mentioned artist so yeah, I guess I am a hypocrite. But this easily should be up there. Anyways, not sure if you read my entire million words and that's cool. Appreciate someone so short in his life's journey appreciating and sharing his thoughts on what occurred many years before his birth. Now what you want. Subscribed. Keep killing it kid, I'm a fan of your opinion.

Dude Dio The Last in Line is my favorite Dio album bummer we can,t agree with it being in your top 10 haha. WASP and Ratt are in good spots I agree with them being top 3 but I would have put Dio at number 1 that album is just god like. Vinny Appice drumming is just nutty af on The Last in Line. Great list Bryce! I really like how you like all types of hard rock and metal unlike some, who want to diss bands like Ratt, Dokken, Motley Crue, etc, for being "glammy." If it sounds great and the songs are great, why not enjoy it. I will listen to Cinderella (one of my favorite 80's hard rock bands) just as much as Megadeth or Iron Maiden (two of my favorite metal bands). The 80's brought us some great musicians and great songs, let's just appreciate the fact that there was so much talent and we were, and are, incredibly spoiled as fans. For what it's worth, here is my list for 1984. 10. Van Halen - 1984 9. Dokken - Tooth and Nail 8. Scorpions - Love a First Sting 7. Ratt - Out of the Cellar 6. Metallica - Ride the Lightning 5. Dio - Last in Line 4. Judas Priest - Defenders of the Faith 3. Whitesnake - Slide it In 2. Queensryche - Warning 1. Iron Maiden - Powerslave

I remmember going to the warehouse music with my mom i bought Ride the lightning. My mom wouldn't let me get WASP. She said it looked too inappropriate for my age.😜😝
1.Mercyful Fate- Don’t Break The Oath 2.Metallica-Ride The Lightning 3.Anthrax-Fistful of metal 4.Venom-At War With Satan 5.Iron Maiden-Powerslave 6.Judas Priest-Defenders of the faith 7.Exciter-Violence and force 8.Dio-Last In Line 9.Bathory-Bathory 10.Metal Church-Metal Church
Warning by Queensryche was intended to be a concept album, taking George Orwells' 1984 and computer technology. It really creates a different perception of the album when played in its' proper order. Mix Engineer Val Garay messed the order up (on purpose?). Tracks 1-...NM 156, Enforce, Deliverance, No Sanctuary, Take Hold Of The Flame, Before The Storm, Child Of Fire, Warning, and Road To Madness.
God Damn what a epic year for Metal! Quite possible the best year for metal period. I cant argue with that list at all. I was 14 when all those albums dropped. The one that really got me though was Metallica Ride The Lightning! It really was a game changer for me. I remember the day my buddy handed me that cassette tape and said Dude you got to hear these Guys!!! I was hooked on them until the black album dropped. Cheers!
1 Metallica - Ride The Lightning 2 Iron Maiden - Powerslave 3 Ratt - Out Of The Cellar 4 Dokken - Tooth And Nail 5 Metal Church - Metal Church 6 Y&T - In Rock We Trust 7 Manowar - Hail To England 8 Dio - The Last In Line 9 Q5 - Steel The Light 10 WASP - WASP
My top top 5 1984 metal and hard rock albums are 1 Powerslave by Iron Maiden 2 Animalize by Kiss 3 Ride The Lightning by Metallica 4 Defenders of The Faith by Judas Priest 5 W.A.S.P. by W.A.S.P.
There is a secret gem in 1984... Condition Critical by Quiet Riot. The album gets no love because of it being overshadowed by the hugely successful Metal Health.. btw the FIRST Number 1 metal album of all time!
1. Judas Priest: Defenders of the faith 2.Mercyful Fate: Don't break the oath 3. Running Wild: Gates to purgatory 4. Stormwitch: Walpurgis night 5. Grave Digger: Heavy metal breakdown 6. Pretty Maids: Red hot and heavy 7. Metallica: Ride the lightning 8 Sinner: Danger zone 9. Metal Church: s/t 10. Icon: S/t
It's very hard to ranking all those great albums but---Let's try: 1. Mercyful Fate "Don't Break the Oath" 2. Iron Maiden "Powerslave" 3. Dio "The Last in Line" 4. Judas Priest "Defenders of the Faith" 5. Metallica "Ride the Lightning" 6. Van Halen "1984" (not "metal" but anyway :) 7. Deep Purple "Perfect Strangers" (no, not metal either...) 8. Queensryche "The Warning" 9. Loudness "Disillusion" 10. Saxon "Crusader" Cheers for everyone!
No offence, but maybe you should get back in ... the Cellar! Ratt? Really, Ratt?? Following some of the masterpieces mentioned? Above others not even mentioned?

@BryceTalksMetal I think that Welcome Home (Sanitarium)’s intro was heavily inspired by GW’s Streetkiller on this album. If you haven’t you should listen to it.

I graduated HS in 84. Great year for music. Good list but like you said , Powerslave could be ranked higher.
Damn I know we all got our tastes but Powerslave at #8?? Ratt and WASP ranks higher than that?? Lol I dunno about that man.
I might not agree with all your ranking and/or opinions but I enjoy your channel very much. Keep up the good work.
I remmember going to the warehouse music with my mom i bought Ride the lightning. My mom wouldn't let me get WASP. She said it looked too inappropriate for my age.😜😝
Another great year for metal!
1.Mercyful Fate- Don’t Break The Oath
2.Metallica-Ride The Lightning
3.Anthrax-Fistful of metal
4.Venom-At War With Satan
5.Iron Maiden-Powerslave
6.Judas Priest-Defenders of the faith
7.Exciter-Violence and force
8.Dio-Last In Line
9.Bathory-Bathory
10.Metal Church-Metal Church
The Quest For Metal guy would totaly piss off to see Powerslave on number 8 lol
Warning by Queensryche was intended to be a concept album, taking George Orwells' 1984 and computer technology. It really creates a different perception of the album when played in its' proper order. Mix Engineer Val Garay messed the order up (on purpose?). Tracks 1-...NM 156, Enforce, Deliverance, No Sanctuary, Take Hold Of The Flame, Before The Storm, Child Of Fire, Warning, and Road To Madness.
Powerslave at #8 is crazy.
Cheers!
All these 1984 Albums in order are the same as yours in order are my favourite. 👍
1 Metallica - Ride The Lightning
2 Iron Maiden - Powerslave
3 Ratt - Out Of The Cellar
4 Dokken - Tooth And Nail
5 Metal Church - Metal Church
6 Y&T - In Rock We Trust
7 Manowar - Hail To England
8 Dio - The Last In Line
9 Q5 - Steel The Light
10 WASP - WASP
Where did you buy that Defenders of the Faith shirt? I consider it my favorite album of all heavy metal.
2014 at one of their shows… 30th anniversary shirt
@@brycetalksmetal Oh I see what a shame, do you think they will release some for the 40th anniversary?
My top top 5 1984 metal and hard rock albums are
1 Powerslave by Iron Maiden
2 Animalize by Kiss
3 Ride The Lightning by Metallica
4 Defenders of The Faith by Judas Priest
5 W.A.S.P. by W.A.S.P.
Birning the witches... Doro my Dream woman since I saw her for the very first time in 1987 in a TV show... All we are vídeo 😍😍😍🤘🤘🤘
There is a secret gem in 1984... Condition Critical by Quiet Riot. The album gets no love because of it being overshadowed by the hugely successful Metal Health.. btw the FIRST Number 1 metal album of all time!
1. ride the lightning
2. powerslave
3. projects in the jungle
4. 1984
5. defenders of the faith
6. fistful of metal
7. the last in line
Last in Line
Ride The Lightning
Defenders Of The Faith
Hey Bryce why dont u have playlists on ur channel??

@@brycetalksmetal
Its just much easier to find the content u created if there are categories. Albums ranked, best album by year, top 10 songs etc.
Hey dude, what's the album next to Riot's Fire Down Under? (not the nugent one)
Fire Power by Legs Diamond
1. Judas Priest: Defenders of the faith
2.Mercyful Fate: Don't break the oath

@@brycetalksmetal :D :D Yeah right, that one should be Red hot and heavy by Pretty Maids, but I've misspelled it.
