I've been in mental health treatment for most of my life so I've hated them before they were even exposed. I think people just don't have a lot of experience/education in that area because immediately the entire model raises huge red flags if you know anything about mental health. Super scummy to advertise to people in need when you don't even have professionals who can help them since most people don't realize how dangerous this is. I hate how long it took for people to call them out but it's very reassuring people can't sponsor them anymore without the audience calling it out

He got a sponsor deal and accepted it because he wanted to make money. There is nothing wrong with that. It doesn't mean he believes in everything he was told to say in the ad. Betterhelp steals and sells your data for one(online history, and yes if you've shopped online or have ever typed in any personal info they'll take it and sell it). They don't have actual professionals as therapists for 2(who treat patients poorly and have a history of discriminating against minorities alot of the time LGBTQ people). And their service has a price that once you see it and once you use it you'll see it was not worth it. I can't remember the exact figures there's alot of videos on TH-cam explaining in more detail. But they're scummy at the very least and borderline exploitative. Not a service worth being sponsored by or recommending.
They claim to employ licensed therapists when their workers aren't actually licenced. There are many accounts of therapists just telling customers to their faces that they're faking it or overreacting. Even those that don't often take multiple days to respond to anything because they're not enforced on any kind of schedule. No one ever gets fired or reprimanded, they just move you to a new therapist if you complain. Because they aren't concerned with people's mental health. They're a service where you pay them $65 to $100 a week to let them collect your data. Also, they financially support the Israeli government's genocide of Palestinians.

I’m done supporting creators who don’t value their viewers/supporters and think it’s fine to promote harmful things to make money. Betterhelp steals and sells your data for one(online history, and yes if you've shopped online or have ever typed in any personal info they'll take it and sell it). They don't have actual professionals as therapists for 2(who treat patients poorly and have a history of discriminating against minorities alot of the time LGBTQ people). And their service has a price that once you see it and once you use it you'll see it was not worth it. I can't remember the exact figures there's alot of videos on TH-cam explaining in more detail. But they're scummy at the very least and borderline exploitative.

They claim to employ licensed therapists when their workers aren't actually licenced. There are many accounts of therapists just telling customers to their faces that they're faking it or overreacting. Even those that don't often take multiple days to respond to anything because they're not enforced on any kind of schedule. No one ever gets fired or reprimanded, they just move you to a new therapist if you complain. Because they aren't concerned with people's mental health. They're a service where you pay them $65 to $100 a week to let them collect your data.
Also, they financially support the Israeli government's genocide of Palestinians.
