There's a fun channel on uTube where some archeology friends watch and comment on flicks. It's funny. Lol, at one point for the beginning of Raiders they were like, "NO! if you find a room where pressure points on the floor cause darts to come out of the wall, you don't go in. You study it and marvel at the tech they used and how are they still functioning!" Something like THAT ITSELF would be a great discovery. 😂😂😂
So, as an archaeologist I think I can answer the questions about the map room. Even though this is a totally fictional scenario… the city and the map room seem to be on slightly different strata elevations. Meaning the city was already in existence for a long time before the map room was built. Considering this is Egypt, probably a several hundred years before the arc of the covenant would have been hidden. So the map room would have been created after by a different group to hide the arc and let others know where it was. Because if it’s higher placement it was probably excavated first.
"You're not the man I knew 10 years ago..." When Marion was a teenager 😬 It's the only thing I have trouble overlooking in Raiders. The line "I was a child! It was wrong and you knew it!" is wildly dark and sets their relationship off to a weird start.
I am a HUGE Indiana Jones fan, I actually got into history and archaeology and later studied history due to my love for the films. It also made me embrace the need to travel and be adventurous. I owe a great deal to Harrison Ford and everyone involved in the film franchise.

Love this movie... but I laughed so hard when The Big Bang Theory "wrecked the movie"... by saying it was a pointless movie because everything would have happened the same without Indiana Jones doing anything.... Indiana Jones is such a great character. I've always love the old adventure stories with the heroes who had quips while they fought.

This movie is one of my childhood favorites, it is just too freakin' good. One of the things I just can't get over though, is the fact that they just causally stored a relic of God, holding the very power of God, in a warehouse. And that's it. I mean it did blend in with other crates but I just can't get over it. That thing is God's power and they just put it away like nothing. Just another thing to add to the warehouse. 🤣 I wasn't sure where to do recommendations so I'll just leave it here, don't mind me. Has anyone recommended "Arcane" yet? It's an animated series on Netflix, video game adaption stuff but they did a great job. An emotional rollercoaster in every episode. Another I recommend is "Gunpowder Milkshake", an action movie with an awesome cast, Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Carla Gugino, Michelle Yeoh, and Angela Bassett. It's a fun watch and has a pretty awesome neon color aesthetic. Okay, I'm done.
I could have said a lot so far (like that recently people came forward claiming that the story about the swordfight was actually not true or at least that it wasn't Ford who suggested to simply shoot the guy) but the part about the snakes is often seen as a sign that god wants the ark to stay buried here.

Side note, I think in the bible his brother Aaron was one of the ones who made the image of the calf - though many say it was out of desperation and peer pressure rather than being power-hungry or greedy - but in the Quran he was one of the ones who tried to stop the others from building it. I think he's still regarded as an important prophet alongside Moses in the Bible, the Quran and the Torah, though in all 3 Moses/Musa/Moishe/Moshe is one of the most important figures in the whole text.

I've only seen this once, about ten years ago when my dad was still alive; my mom, dad and I all watched it for my first time together, they had seen it and wanted to introduce me to it. So while I didn't remember most of the film, it has a veneer of nostalgia and fondness for me regardless.

Sadly I don't think I ever understood the film to take the implications of her drinking habits seriously. I'm pretty sure they said that they tried to hide the ark. It was stolen from Solomon's Temple. The only entrance was that capstone that they removed. Before it was buried by sand, it would have been just one of many landmarks that it could be in. The only way to know for sure where it would be was to use the headpiece that had instructions on where to place the staff.

The scene in the beginning with Alfred Molina and the spiders, no wonder Doc Ock hates Spiderman. Funny thing is, if Indy had stayed home and done Nothing, the Nazis would have still gotten the ark, opened it, and melted. It isn't about what you believe, marion is 15 years old George Lucas you know the writer and creator stared marion age of 15 and if she was older then 15 when she first had a relationship with indiana jones it would not be interesting anymore period. and indiana jones would be in his 20s also karen allen the actress who portrayed Marion stated the same about marion being 15 years old when indiana jones and marion had started there romance, so there you have it from the creator and actress themselves, so again needless to say what they say goes, not what you or anybody else wants to say of believe.
If I had to nitpick the fighting scenes are a little hokey at times. . I saw Raiders of The Lost Ark on the big screen still one of the most awesome time's I've ever had at the movie's. Am I as excited for Dial of Destiny no not even close but at least they're closing his story and I'm glad.

The scene in the beginning with Alfred Molina and the spiders, no wonder Doc Ock hates Spiderman. Funny thing is, if Indy had stayed home and done Nothing, the Nazis would have still gotten the ark, opened it, and melted.
I saw this at the theatre when it came out, and coincidentally a girl in my class decided to see it at the same showing. When I asked her how she liked it the next day , she said she left the theater after Miriam "died" in the beginning.. I was like are you kidding me?!?

my dad made me watch every indian jones movie and i enjoyed them my fav movie of indian jones is Indiana Jones and the tempel of doom :) im going to the new movie (called Indiana Jones and the dial of destiny) this wednesday

It isn't about what you believe, marion is 15 years old George Lucas you know the writer and creator stared marion age of 15 and if she was older then 15 when she first had a relationship with indiana jones it would not be interesting anymore period. and indiana jones would be in his 20s also karen allen the actress who portrayed Marion stated the same about marion being 15 years old when indiana jones and marion had started there romance, so there you have it from the creator and actress themselves, so again needless to say what they say goes, not what you or anybody else wants to say of believe.

If I had to nitpick the fighting scenes are a little hokey at times. . I saw Raiders of The Lost Ark on the big screen still one of the most awesome time's I've ever had at the movie's. Am I as excited for Dial of Destiny no not even close but at least they're closing his story and I'm glad.
