Technically Pubert doesn't kill her. Debbie killed herself by not observing safety rules with high voltage electricity - either protection for her hands, or making sure live wires were not lying about. The guy throwing the switch on the electric chair in The Green Mile is using rubber gloves for good reason.
Also work in why the kids try to kill the new baby but fail and the parents are worried cuz at the same time the kids see him as a Addams and part of their family is because of that and thinking they would replaced that they did try to reject and take him out, so in the end it could be a 50/50 stuff perhaps and that's why the parents try to find a nanny
Morticia’s power is her own lighting everywhere she goes, and no pain threshold. Gomez’s powers are investing in ANYTHING and making money (FYI family’s net worth is around $2 billion) and loving Morticia. All of them have the power to dodge/withstand death.

The reason Debbie couldn’t kill Fester is because by marrying him she became an Addams, thus the protection set. Pubert managed to cause her death because she denounced her place in the Addams family.
Gomez’s life dream is actually to be a failed investor but he’s never managed it. Everything he’s invested in succeeds. That’s actually part of why the Addams have so much money

Because they're monsters in the very Americana sense, it's left up to question on their mortality, and death is more about story convenience than hardcoded into the lore.
You are confusing The Addams Family with The Munsters. In Munsters one of the family (Marilyn) is completely normal, but the rest are indeed monsters - the grandfather is a vampire from Transylvania and the father Hermann is basically Frankenstein's monster. (their car is called Dragula which Rob Zombie liked so much he made a song about it) The black and white TV show of TAM was basically this but far more tame in every fashion - Wednesday actually seems her age regardless of her oddness relative to other children, whereas the Ricci Wednesday is just a younger, snarkier Morticia and altogether too grown up by comparison to Pugsley who isn't that much younger.
That would actually make SO much sense if Gomez was a human who married into the family! Cause everyone else is a pretty clear monster trope (Morticia- Vampress, Grandma-witch, Fester-Igor, butler-Frankenstein) aside from the kids who would be “mixed” half human, with each kid mainly taking after one parent lol

Also when Morticia and Gomez are talking about "no survivers" on their noneymoon cruise there was obviously a disaster of some kind on the ship where everyone died except them of course. They definitely are dark and can survive things that can kill others but I'd still want to work for them as a nanny. lol

2 things. 1. This movie will never not be funny and perfect. Also, Christina Ricci is THE Wednesday; Jenna did a phenomenal job but no one can beat Ricci. 2. (Personal rant) When I was in elementary school (approx. grade 5) I was Wednesday Addams for Halloween and NOBODY knew who I was. NOBODY. (I’m 21 now). So I’m glad that my forever icon/ personal hero is finally getting the recognition she deserves. She and I also have the same MBTI type too so which makes so much sense.

I read somewhere that the Pilgrims didn't even really INVITE the Natives to Thanksgiving. They were shooting waterfowl (NO mention of turkey in the letters the Pilgrims wrote about the event. Most likely duck and geese were served at the first Thanksgiving,), when the Natives heard it and came to investigate. In fear of escalating things to violence the Pilgrims then invited them to the feast. They hadn't intended to. And they DID think of the Natives as savages which is why they thought it was OK to kill or exploit them.

This was one of my late husband and my favourites. I highly suggest, in this line, a two-season show of shorts (none longer than about 6 minutes or so), which the Addams estate has allowed to remain on YT, called, "Adult Wednesday Addams." The writer/actress/producer is AMAZING. Wednesday has various days out. She rents. She gets her hair cut. She attracts male attention. She passes by an abortion clinic being protested... etc..That this artist was forced to stop making these sucks, but that we still get to enjoy them, it's just great. You could literally binge the entire thing in maybe a couple hours. As the young folk say, "She is serving c*nt, no cap." BTW, I noticed you watched this before the original. Not sure why. Anyway, I just discovered you two, so I will be checking out more of your work. I used to work at Blockbuster, and my widower's wedding album? It is filled, cover to back page, with every ticket stub of every movie my late husband and I watched, over 20 years. I always find it heartbreaking though. Angelica said she would never do another Addams Family after Raul Julia died. That's why most of the cast isn't in the 3rd one.

My most favorite movies of all time are Adams Family 1 & 2. Family values taught by this family is the best thing you can get from TV.

This is by far my favorite Addam's Family movie and I loved dressing up as Wednesday in high school.
I haven't seen this movie before but it's giving me major the parent trap vibes
2 things. 1. This movie will never not be funny and perfect. Also, Christina Ricci is THE Wednesday; Jenna did a phenomenal job but no one can beat Ricci. 2. (Personal rant) When I was in elementary school (approx. grade 5) I was Wednesday Addams for Halloween and NOBODY knew who I was. NOBODY. (I’m 21 now). So I’m glad that my forever icon/ personal hero is finally getting the recognition she deserves. She and I also have the same MBTI type too so which makes so much sense.

I read somewhere that the Pilgrims didn't even really INVITE the Natives to Thanksgiving. They were shooting waterfowl (NO mention of turkey in the letters the Pilgrims wrote about the event. Most likely duck and geese were served at the first Thanksgiving,), when the Natives heard it and came to investigate. In fear of escalating things to violence the Pilgrims then invited them to the feast. They hadn't intended to. And they DID think of the Natives as savages which is why they thought it was OK to kill or exploit them.

This was one of my late husband and my favourites. I highly suggest, in this line, a two-season show of shorts (none longer than about 6 minutes or so), which the Addams estate has allowed to remain on YT, called, "Adult Wednesday Addams." The writer/actress/producer is AMAZING. Wednesday has various days out. She rents. She gets her hair cut. She attracts male attention. She passes by an abortion clinic being protested... etc..That this artist was forced to stop making these sucks, but that we still get to enjoy them, it's just great. You could literally binge the entire thing in maybe a couple hours. As the young folk say, "She is serving c*nt, no cap."
BTW, I noticed you watched this before the original. Not sure why. Anyway, I just discovered you two, so I will be checking out more of your work. I used to work at Blockbuster, and my widower's wedding album? It is filled, cover to back page, with every ticket stub of every movie my late husband and I watched, over 20 years. I have a LOT of relevant selections to suggest, especially in the Horror/Comedy/Sci-Fi intersection of things. Be well.
