    Please do not EVER use the tip of a sharp knife to "pry" anything. This will absolutely ruin your knife and is also really really dangerous. Use a very sturdy (oversize) flathead screwdriver or other tool for this part.

      She is actually not prying at that point. I thought the same but then I realized she was just cutting a circle. She pried it open with the spoon.

      My family have a rectangle knife and it’s actually really easy to do that. My dad worked as a coconut pryer as a kid so he’s kind of a pro coconut pryer lol. For me, the knifes fine, just be careful and you’re alright

    I've opened coconuts that come straight from the tree since I'm 8 but ma'am that's not a great way to use the knife

    As someone from the Caribbean who is always around coconuts I recommend not to use that type of knife because you can hurt yourself as well as the knife & I recommend keeping your hand slanted so u don’t cut yourself and sturdy but her form is okay

    We Filipinos usually just chop the head, drain the ✨juices✨ then split or crack it in half. Although, only professionals do this like those who knows what they're doing. Others would just make a hole using screwdriver then drain and crack in half lol

    I usually drink the juice after refrigerating the coconut. The way I’ve learned to do it is to let him k for the 3 dots on the coconut. There is one dot that’s soft enough to poke through using a butter knife. After the juice is done, hold the coconut in your hand with eh the dots either facing your thumb or pinky. Hold coconut them slam it against the ground. It should crack open.

    Actually after you cut away the white part, you can find a soft spot that’s exactly like a size of a straw and just use a chopstick to poke through and stick your straw in.

    Nothing beats fresh coconut though for those who have never had fresh coconut have only had the bits like in the baking section they taste completely different they are not sweet like overly sweet like that but they do taste absolutely delicious in their own right

    it takes so much more just to get to her starting point if you actually get fresh coconuts.
    at home, we cut that white part until we find the hard center, then find the eye and use a table knife to cut it instead of a big chef's knife

    Using one of those large rectangular Chinese heavy knives is better bc it’s built to do heavy work like this. When you chop a hole aim for the coconut’s “eyes”. They are the weakest part

    Btw, use the blunt sidenof the knife for opening the shell. It's the Force of the lnofe hitting that opens it, not the cutting

    As a southeast asia people, we usually open coconut using machete. It’s quite hard to open it by using usual knife.

    Screw driver and a hammer work great. Find a small hole and boom the juice comes out for the meat and whatever it also works its just not perfect

    In Venezuela, they use machetes. One cut and the coconut is open.
