This is one of the best box joint jigs/sled for routers I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing your work. 👍🏾

Three times I've watched this, I have a bought fold away router table from axminster tools. I'm going to make this jig to suit it as it's the only version I've managed to get my head around. Many thanks for video and the build.

Nicely done Eric! I have a similar mini routing table so this idea will come in handy,Thanks..👍👍😉😉

That was awesome and you made it look so simple, it also gave me a better understanding and an idea how to make one for my table with a couple of t bolts for the t track thank you so much.

Nice job Eric, thanks for the info. I reckon I could build one of these for my small router table. I really enjoy your videos. Allan

Thanks For Your Time. Would a pair of T Tracks make that sled easier to slide and more accurate? Also would having the jig comprised of a sliding sub fence and the finger joint jig make it easier to adjust the fit by moving the jig closer or further away from the bit? That said it seems you nailed it the first time, so adjustments were not necessary. Again, thanks for your time.

I never had any issue sliding this through as-is. The design is meant to allow a small amount of play laterally, (1/16" - 1/8") so that you can customize the finger size and easily guide the fence through the cut. The accuracy is quite good. T-tracks on a small table like this wasn't necessary - one of the many advantages of the mini router table.

Really nice. You are so inspiring. I guess it could also be made for dove tail joints ?

Thanks Jan! A bit tricky to make dovetails on plywood. You will probably have to use solid wood, unless you have a CNC machine.

Nice and simple! Rather than using that extra “finger”, couldn’t you just slide the last notch of the mating board over the glued in finger and use that to setup your first cut? May be interfering with your clamp, 🤔

You could try that but it probably won't line up right. If it's off by 1 mm you'll get the extra friction on all the fingers.

Eric, this is high on my build list. What is the brand of the mask you used. Do you recommend it and if so
where can I get one in Canada?

I bought mine on Amazon about 2 years ago. Now, due to the pandemic, they've been selling out and I no longer see them on Amazon. You can try their website and see if you can buy direct from them: rzmask.com

Nice quick and easy jig. Is there some particular reason you set the jig up with the project board on the back side, away from you? On first blush I would think I’d want the project board where I can see it.

Thanks! I set it up that way for safety reasons. If chips or splinters go flying off (and sometimes they do) , I would prefer to stay out of the line of fire. Once it's clamped in place, you don't need to see it. Just run it through nice and easy🙂

Eric Sorensen - reasonable. I plan on building this jig because it seems much easier to use than some others I’ve tried. Thanks, keep up the good work. 👍

Are you releasing plans for this jig anytime soon?

    • @EricSorensenCanada
      @EricSorensenCanada  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I have plans for the router table but not the jig. I'll probably make plans for the jig in the next month or so, depending on demand.

@@EricSorensenCanada i bought your router table plans but I was hoping to get the jig cut out at the same time. I don't have a table saw so my friend rips boards for me, I hope you get enough orders for the jig, you've got a good channel going.
