Subhanallah. I remember about 7 years ago I was in a dark place spiritually and I went to the masjid (almost didn’t) for maghrib. The imam (who I’d never seen before) decided to give a short lecture afterwards, and so I wasn’t in the mood to stay and listen, but I stayed seated away from the circle. This imam immediately realized the situation and he narrated this exact hadith, basically to tell me that because I was shy to leave, Allah would be shy to me. This was a turning point in my spiritul journey, as Allah gave him wisdom in dawah and had sent him to me at a crucial time in my life. Alhamdulillah. Thank you uncle Paul for everything you share.
I cordially invite you to Islam. Allah the most high will surely open up doors of divine secrets to you. You are here for a reason, because these gold mines are not so apparent to even many of the Muslims, who are heedless. You have recognised it, that means, you have personal interest in it. Wish you peace!
Brother Paul, One thing I find beautiful about you is your zeal to share the knowledge. This could have easily been just a personal realization but you took the effort to share it with us. May Allah increase you in goodness and give you more insight.
For anyone now interested in buying the Muwatta of imam Malik, i highly recommend the 'Moroccan Royal Edition'. Although the version of Aisha Bewley (the one br. Paul shows in the video) is an excellent translation, the moroccan royal edition is a more recent publication and is more than just a translation. It has a lot of footnotes with information on the isnads/chains. It also has a large introductory text, which can be regarded as a study in itself on the Maliki madhab and the Muwatta.
Beautiful! Thank you and jazakAllahkhayr Paul! And notice how the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, did no point at the men, mention their names, or rebuke them directly. Every act of man can be a spiritual one, and every One who returns to Him will find shelter in Him! For some reason, reminds me of the hadith qudsi, where Allah says, "I am as My servant expects me to be/or thinks that I am."

MashaAllah Brother Paul! If I may, it also reminds me of something I read from Syeikh Hamza Yusuf. And that is there is an expect that Allah treats us based on how we treat others. Like: he who is not merciful to people will not be shown mercy by Allah. Similar to: do onto others as you would have them do unto you. Allahuaqlam
Your benefits Mr Paul are beyond what would be thought. alongside the religious benefits and spirituality I also use your videos in class to teach English as a foreign language, my student learn to respect and understand Islam better when they see it's global effect on people who's tongue speaks an other language, in this case a popular deeply affecting language and a dominating culture. First they see a person speaking a very clear understandable English, Native English. Thank you.

Here is another beautiful story with similar meaning. I hope you make a video about it. Narrated Abu Huraira: By Allah except Whom none has the right to- be worshipped, (sometimes) I used to lay (sleep) on the ground on my liver (abdomen) because of hunger, and (sometimes) I used to bind a stone over my belly because of hunger. One day I sat by the way from where they (the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions) used to come out. When Abu Bakr passed by, I asked him about a Verse from Allah's Book and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger, but he passed by and did not do so. Then `Umar passed by me and I asked him about a Verse from Allah's Book, and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger, but he passed by without doing so. Finally Abu-l-Qasim (the Prophet (ﷺ) ) passed by me and he smiled when he saw me, for he knew what was in my heart and on my face. He said, "O Aba Hirr (Abu Huraira)!" I replied, "Labbaik, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said to me, "Follow me." He left and I followed him. Then he entered the house and I asked permission to enter and was admitted. He found milk in a bowl and said, "From where is this milk?" They said, "It has been presented to you by such-and-such man (or by such and such woman)." He said, "O Aba Hirr!" I said, "Labbaik, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "Go and call the people of Suffa to me." These people of Suffa were the guests of Islam who had no families, nor money, nor anybody to depend upon, and whenever an object of charity was brought to the Prophet, he would send it to them and would not take anything from it, and whenever any present was given to him, he used to send some for them and take some of it for himself. The order of the Prophet upset me, and I said to myself, "How will this little milk be enough for the people of As- Suffa? though I was more entitled to drink from that milk in order to strengthen myself", but behold! The Prophet (ﷺ) came to order me to give that milk to them. I wondered what will remain of that milk for me, but anyway, I could not but obey Allah and His Apostle so I went to the people of As-Suffa and called them, and they came and asked the Prophet's permission to enter. They were admitted and took their seats in the house. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Aba-Hirr!" I said, "Labbaik, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "Take it and give it to them." So I took the bowl (of milk) and started giving it to one man who would drink his fill and return it to me, whereupon I would give it to another man who, in his turn, would drink his fill and return it to me, and I would then offer it to another man who would drink his fill and return it to me. Finally, after the whole group had drunk their fill, I reached the Prophet (ﷺ) who took the bowl and put it on his hand, looked at me and smiled and said. "O Aba Hirr!" I replied, "Labbaik, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "There remain you and I." I said, "You have said the truth, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "Sit down and drink." I sat down and drank. He said, "Drink," and I drank. He kept on telling me repeatedly to drink, till I said, "No. by Allah Who sent you with the Truth, I have no space for it (in my stomach)." He said, "Hand it over to me." When I gave him the bowl, he praised Allah and pronounced Allah's Name on it and drank the remaining milk. Sahih Bukhari
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (SAW) said: "Allah says: 'I am as My slave thinks I am, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.'" (Sahih Al-Bukhari 7405)
Insaha Allah all Muslims who love each other for the sake of Allah will meet in his mercy his Jannah and enjoy the company of each other along with prophet Mohammad peace and mercy upon him. Can we imagine this. May Allah help us and grant us this.

Here is another beautiful story with similar meaning. I hope you make a video about it.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
By Allah except Whom none has the right to- be worshipped, (sometimes) I used to lay (sleep) on the ground on my liver (abdomen) because of hunger, and (sometimes) I used to bind a stone over my belly because of hunger.
He found milk in a bowl and said, "From where is this milk?" They said, "It has been presented to you by such-and-such man (or by such and such woman)." He said, "O Aba Hirr!" I said, "Labbaik, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "Go and call the people of Suffa to me."
These people of Suffa were the guests of Islam who had no families, nor money, nor anybody to depend upon, and whenever an object of charity was brought to the Prophet, he would send it to them and would not take anything from it, and whenever any present was given to him, he used to send some for them and take some of it for himself.
The order of the Prophet upset me, and I said to myself, "How will this little milk be enough for the people of As- Suffa? though I was more entitled to drink from that milk in order to strengthen myself", but behold!
