    Tim Gunn is one of the few real people on tv and I think that's why we love him. He is the person I aspire to be. Not his life or career choices, but his honesty, integrity, openness and the very real connections that he makes with people. He knows himself and shows his true self openly, and doesn't need others to validate him -- he likes his routines and his life and is not afraid to express his quirkiness. I even like that he has angry outbursts because you know -- they are real and I feel like they are probably justified!

    Loved this so much.. he's really honest and authentic - if he doesn't like it, he's not going to fake it. And his integrity - so admirable to see that. And, I've been saying for years "leggings are not pants" but no one cares.

    Great interview. Interesting that Zac Posen is now in bankruptcy. I love the fact the Tim watches Two Fat Ladies. That is one of the best ever cooking shows. Brits have it all over us for TV shows.
    Would have loved for Kara to ask Tim about the short run of his show when he delves into everyday womans closets and talks to them about basic clothing and good bras. Can't remember the name of it but I really enjoyed it.
    I'm so late in finding this channel. I haven't checked out all of the shows, but I hope she interviews Christian Siriano. I didn't particularly care for him in his season but since have come to admire him as a designer and a caring individual. Would love to have his behind the scenes takes on Project Runway.

    Thank you so much for providing a link in your latest Tim Gunn video to this first interview. I was scrolling through all your videos looking for this specific video and then thought "Oh she probably linked to it in the other video" and sure enough there it was. My initial mistake of scrolling through your videos turned out to be good fortune because I learned you have a lot of videos with very interesting people and now you have a new subscriber! PS Tim really spilled the tea on the finalists and Judges from Project Runway 14. He did not hold back! Just like when he said Mondo should have won season 8! Tim is always honest, that's why he's adored by so many!!

    • @shenanigans3710

      They're not comments about Ashley. They're comments about her clothes, which he hates and which he says only won because they were "plus size"

    • @chrisandkrisholiday3961
      @chrisandkrisholiday3961 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      we're so happy he spoke up about Ashley. Many feel the same as Tim Gunn that she shouldn't have been given the win just because it was time to shed light on the Plus size community

    • @GiselleKlara
      @GiselleKlara 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      most people saw this. i sort of wish they'd just do a Plus sized show and a "regular"/sample sized show. That way they can also have an actual competition for both as opposed to them "competing". I love Tim; he is supportive and kind towards the designers and helps them when on the competition but he's also not afraid to have an opinion- or "have to get along with EVERYONE" all the time-- and the only designers he's had any issue with as people are the ones who were ugly and rude to usually both him and the other competitors. The worst he's said is he'd like to send certain people to a "desert island"....not nasty but part of the reason he's not BORING is that he doesn't pretend to just adore everyone and everything. It's his literal job to have an opinion about the clothes and all teachers like some students more than others....the professionalism is that when you are working with them, you don't let them know about preferences- afterward- sorry but you do get to be a human being.

    Not stand for the First Lady of your country? Good home training is such a lost lesson; proper etiquette rules for the office of the president/first lady trumps whether you like the persons or not. Obviously Mt Gunn's good home training was demonstrated at that table. Kudos, Tim...and his mom!

    Wow....can't believe I'm just now listening to this. I was stuck in a Kroger parking lot when a huge thunderstorm hit. Torrential rain, lightning, and wind gusts. I chose to stay put and listen to this. It was recommended. Great interview. I love Tim. I am in Georgia out in the country. I garden and landscape. I dress in camouflage,blue jeans and tee shirts daily. I keep two or three dresses for "marrying and burying."
    I had 4 children, 2 are daughters, and we didn't have a lot of money, so I turned them onto the sewing machine and project runway from the beginning. They are both adults now and can both sew. We all loved Tim. I am married to a Leo, and yes.....I think so much of what Tim says here says a lot about the Leo. It was very deep and emotional to hear him talk about the unopened presents and his sister. I was the one in the family who took care of my Mother in Law when she was dying. I didn't get angry at anyone who was working hard (some had to be out of town for work). Tim's sister totally understood he had a good job. Leo's can be too honest at times, but I dont really see that as terrible until my Leo says something to me like, "You need to be easy on the carbs" and such.
    It is true that he should stop reading the New York Times. Trump was not dividing the nation it was the press like CNN, MSNBC, and the New York Times doing that. Calling Trump a dictator and an emperor in waiting and a dictator want to be.....and all the "it's the end of democracy" stuff. Joe Biden can barely speak a sentence, and the media is running cover for him. The Democrats working in cahoots with the media are the ones who are going to be the end of democracy. The vaccine mandates. The fake Trump is a Russian spy thing that they cooked up and pushed. The fake Trump urinated on prostitutes. All of these things were created by the Democrats and the FBI/CIA. They then had their media mouths start the brainwashing. I have been a registered Democrat my whole life. I can see what is clearly in front of me. My daughter was working in epidemiology at the CDC during Covid. She made sure her father and I didn't take the vaccine. In fact, nobody in her lab took the vaccine. The majority of the CDC did not take the vaccine. They knew that it really didn't work well from the beginning They knew it came from a lab from the beginning. They knew about the uptick in heart attacks and the sudden deaths from the clotting blood. They let Phizer come up with mandatory vaccines and lockdowns. They had the media push the fear level up, as high as it would go. Also, The whole BLM thing was a lie created by the Democratic party in order to siphon money off the top. Thats why you can see the whole organization took in more than 2 billion dollars and not one grocery store was built in a food dessert, not one black elderly person had help building a wheelchair ramp, not one black student got help with much needed out of state tuition or housing. Not one swimming pool was built in a black neighborhood. The money went to the 6 or 7 folks that the Democrats put in charge of BLM and the rest went to the Democratic party. The Democrats chose George Floyd as the poster child for BLM. A man that did a home invasion robbery and at trial it came out that he threatened to shoot a 9 month pregnant woman in the stomach if she didn't show them where the drugs and money were hidden. Black neighborhoods have murals of George Floyd up on walls. Young black kids wear shirts with their faces. What a role model. What a hero. He never paid one oenny of child support. Way to go Democrats. Hillary Clinton had used up all of the money the Democrats had between running against Bernie Sanders and then Trump. So they had to come up with a scheme to make fast money. So they invented BLM and hired those that ran the organization. Thats why they (the leaders of the BLM movement) all purchased several expensive houses in California each....the rest of the money??? It was all a scam designed by democrats along with the empeachments of Donald Trump. I didn't vote for Trump, but Hillary Clinton got exactly what she deserved, and for that, I'm grateful. I hate that you hear Tim go down the "it's the end of democracy" and just repeat all the horse manure that the Democratic Party was inventing.
    Tim however is still so very cool in my book. I just pray that now that we know Fauci was working on weaponizing the flu virus in Wuhan, telling the public that it came from a wet market and at the same time using a personal e-mail to say that the genetic markers show it was the virus they were working on and at the same time Hunter and Joe Biden were doing business with The Ukraine....sending them our tax money and then using Hunter, who was living in a crack hotel at the time to get millions of dollars in kickbacks, which he bitched and moaned about because he had to move the bulk of that money back to Joe....I hope he has opened his eyes to the truth and moved away from the corporate news channels.

      The city-based media is ruining everything. I live in the NY area, I know. They push their racist narrative and then pretend they are the morally righteous ones. The only GOOD thing is we live in the internet era, where there can be (some) pushback against this. Can you imagine if we had only 3 networks and no internet?

      and the thing is- there are plenty of people who want to do and DO design for plus sized and larger bodies- including Christian Siriano. That's great. But it does not mean everyone has to. It would be great if everyone could afford these pieces - and fit into them- but that's not reality. some are limited by their finances and some by their bodies. I'm so tired of the body inclusivity movement- obviously everyone's body is "included"....but that doesn't mean that everyone should wear everything- for their OWN sake

  • @aangitano
    @aangitano ปีที่แล้ว

    It's very interesting to hear a celebrity dislike celebrity culture. I'm not surprised Tim Gunn didn't like the judges. Also, I don't watch the season with Ashley ~ the designer he's talking about ~ I just looked at her winning designs. I'm not inspired but I haven't always agreed with the judges. I go for more skilled designers. That's why I love Christian Siriano. He designs beautiful clothing for all body types!
    Lol, he's so conservative 😅
