This is basically like listening to a tim gunn therapy session. It's fascinating!
I also really respect his outlook and opinions. He values the fashion on the show more than the fame and the "reality tv" aspect of it. Much respect.

I agree. I do admire Tim and it's good to learn about 'the man.' However, this is interview is uncomfortable to listen to in parts. He was very gracious but honestly, I question the interviewer's judgment.
The fact that Kara does not interrupt and take over the conversation makes this so enjoyable!
This is fascinating, and I want to give him a hug because I know how strong and yet fragile he is, how he has sustained abuse in the past and I understand him. Such a unique man
“Point of order, point of order!” That’s so funny and so Tim Gunn. That would have made for a totally excellent TV moment. I would have loved to have seen Zac Posen’s face. What do you mean I can’t look at clothes close up? It’s like telling someone they can look at the car but don’t look under the hood to see if it has an engine. Tim Gunn is the heart and soul of the show.

I love that they started looking at the clothes up close, however, the way Zac molests the clothes and models on the show grosses me out every time. Especially when it’s not a model and it’s a family member of the designers or regular women who don’t do this as a job and regularly get poked and prodded. This insight was interesting and I’m glad my instincts about him were right.
That was a good interview. You asked questions and let your guest answer them in his own time without interrupting. Tim obviously trusted you enough to dish some serious dirt on things he feels strongly about. Kara, you did an excellent job and I enjoyed the interview thoroughly.

Really Famous Podcast I subscribe with pleasure and praise you for your highly enjoyable and professional work. I have a passion for listening to interviews but they disappoint me most of the times. The interviewers are too often clearly ignorant about the person they deal with. A lot of them are interested in being themselves in the center of attention or they are not really interested in the answers they get, therefore they interrupt their guest all the time. Some of them just do a silly and superficial work. Others are coldly detached and cannot make the guest feel at ease and willing to give something real to the audience. You created the atmosphere of an intimate dialogue between two persons , not two fake public personae. Surely the exquisite Gunn contributed to this with his own unique personality, but you seem driven by the sincere will of trying to penetrate a soul. Even to help him: I perceived a sweetness from your attitude towards him. Sorry for the lenghth of this comment (and I hope for you that my English is ok!), but I think that a job so delighfully well done deserves all the words that are necessary. Best wishes to you and thanks for your comment.

Came across this video after starting on a binge of Tim Gunn videos on TH-cam. Love it! Wish we could hear more about Tim's opinions on the current President and the farce of his administration. I'll bet it would be both juicy and hysterical!
He's awesome and candid plus has the integrity to be there that much for the designers where they don't feel he's biased with the judges.
This was a fantastic interview. If I ever need a therapist, I'd like Kara to be it. Knowing just the right question & word... priceless! I bet Tim had a whole lot to think about afterwards because she brought out some real truths for him. Tim called a lot on the White House issues, it's in the past now being 2022. I like Tim even more now.
I developed a problem opening mailed gifts later in life. I thought I was the only one who was weird about getting gifts. It's haunted me for a long time as I'm ashamed of it and don't understand why, although Tim touched on his reasoning that I relate too.
One thing is I'm highly disorganized and have a lot on my plate, so I feel guilty when i get gifts sent to me...

Hi from Alaska! Tim Gunn is the main reason I watch the runway shows. I learn so much on so many levels! I sew for plus sizes but very privately. I am always learning and since I make quilts, figured why not try sewing clothes? My idea at first was mixing tops and merging them to create a new or different look. Still like doing that! But you have been a huge influence. So has Christian whose name I cannot spell right now... He was so young when he won project runway and is so gifted. A really amazing designer. Anyway! Great interview!!!😎

Someone hurt this man really badly... And because of that he is unable to have relationships... He is afraid of being hurt, so keeps everyone away at a distance. I understand it completely.
Wesley Nicholls that may be. But if he maintains that he's perfectly happy living life on his terms, then why impose on him what society deems 'normal' as far as relationships? I have a friend who has just turned 30. she's beautiful, accomplished, has a fulfilling career and a vibrant social life. Something she's never had and has no interest in having is an intimate relationship. We've all probed and tried to figure out if there is some childhood trauma to blame. She insists there isn't. A mutual friend once asked if she likes women perhaps. Her response 'there are women and men that I like, there are women and men that I don't like'
So funny and so simple. People are different, if they are happy then why not let them be? :)

Wow, he's got some pretty big issues. Hopefully, he'll add a therapist in addition to his personal trainer.
Oh, Tim--you're still very optimistic about there being an impeachment. The House is the only body that can initiate that and their track record since the election hasn't indicated a lot of pushback against this administration. Spot on about not normalizing this, though--that is vital.

Although I believe we dodged a bullet when we ditched the Dems and git Trump, I must give a thumbs up, based on Tim's candor, making for an excellent interview.

WOW, Tim is one toxic, catty, bitter, old queen! How can he so viciously trash Ashley Tipton when he admits to being bullied as a child? Does he know that she actually heard his criticisms on her podcast & cried ( & later booked a session with her shrink over it)? And, Kara, was it wise of you to put this snarkiness out into the world? What kind of therapist would do this with a clear conscience? How cruel! You majorly kissed his ass in your more recent interview & made so much of his supposed "integrity". Did his conscience ever haunt him for likening Ashley to a float in a parade? Shame on him for his vituperative musings on these young, impressionaable former people he was supposed to be inspiring & lifting up! And shame on you, Kara, for providing him a forum for such vitriol. This Machine Gunn needs a really, really good therapist!
I love Tim but painting everyone else as the villain is always a red flag. The comments about Heidi were not really necessary. Mid life crisis? Really? Borderline sexist.
