support players really are the backbone of the game. the beauty of a blink cancel. the honor in the greaves aura saving people at low health. the knowledge that core mains will think they did all the work. good cores can comeback from hard games. supports make it so they never have to.
I used to play a lot of Venomancer, but gradually stopped playing him. I guess I began finding him a little bit boring to play. Very effective hero, but doesn't give my monkey brain the neuron activation effect.
As an annoying person, I find veno's playstyle extremely fitting and I couldn't get bored of him despite spamming him tons of games Best of all, it's one of the few heros you can play with only 2 brain cells which is perfect 😂😂
In some games you can go the vroom vroom build and you outrun most of the enemies which is freaking hilarious - drums, solar crest, euls, wind lace, tranquils, and eventual upgrades 😂😂😂
I think I should give this a try. Do you buy this as one of your starting items? I usually go 2 Tangos, 1-2 Sentry, 1 Blood Grenade, 2 Branches, and 1 Circlet especially if im planning on going Vessel.
@@manuelmarce2544 I don't buy wind lace as starting item. For a universal hero like veno, stats are super good so I dont waste gold on ms. I usually buy wl around the time i get brown boots.
Me too. Veno has a very understandably low movespeed as his slow allows him to chase enemies anyway. Buying a wind lace at the start feels like it almost cancels that limitation and makes you much stronger in the lane.
I've had a ton of success this patch with Venomancer in the 3k bracket. First picked it every game and win most. The vision you give your team is insane. Poison sting is a 15 sec debuff at max level, you can keep enemies low through their regen . The flexibility you get on itemization is great too. I like to go drums and vlads to help my carry destroy towers fast and go into bearing and any auras my team needs.
Thanks for the explanation on latent toxicity. I always favoured other support items over shard on Veno, so when I get it for free from tormentor, I was always confused when to use it. Stun on BKB seems HUGE. Also I checked in demo mode that the damage is applied even if the poison is dispelled by Eul's or Wind Waker. In Wind Waker, you even get stunned for the first 1.6 seconds (out of 2.5) so you can't move very far. The hard part is, of course, predicting when the opponent will use BKB/Manta/Eul's. Throwing it as soon as you land a gale seems to be the best option. If the enemy doesn't dispel, they are slowed for a long time. If they do, they are stunned and take damage.
Your videos are so good! They are short, but very informative and interesting to watch. I do not play dota that frequent, but you keep posting videos with great ideas to try when I come to play! Thank you!
Use plague wards in lane to block the enemy small camp at xx:59 so they can't kill it before the next minute. They will hit the ward later and get some small amount of gold, but you save 50 gold on a sentry and make sure the creep wave can always stay near your tower. Plus you don't need to go too deep to hide your sentry in a difficult location that is harder for the enemy support to deward.
Oh, I'm spamming him right now as either 4/5 and I really love the versatility of his Plague Wards. I also agree with the itemization. His Shard is really situational, but it can really surprise the enemies.
Once i had a Centaur game that was going perfect, i did a lot of plays, created a lot of space for my carry however i alone could not siege high groud so the game stagnated, we ended up loosing, when i saw the damage chart the enemy Veno had more damage done than my and his carry combined.
I might check him out. He is so slow though, to a triggering degree! And please do cover the ult. It makes sense on paper but not enough to be comfortable about it
NICE VID DUDE. KEEP MAKING CONTENT LIKE THIS LEZGOO p.s: It's like main PB but more toxic. I used to play veno, but didn't find the hero that amusing. Sure, if u wanna just win, go play him. Fun? Not so much. Annoying af? YES. and this coming from techies and PB main haha
If the enemy team has your veno countered with their innate dispell abilities, I usually just rush aghs after mana boots. It gives him some durability due to the stats and bonus hp from the scepter, as well as making the enemies' dispells(on venomous gale) backfire on them as will just unleash a poison nova which ends up dealing more DPS on a wide AoE. Also worth noting that his ultimate will spread/scatter if the target blocks it with linkin so, even if you didn't land it on your main target, rest assured that you still infected a wide AoE with the non-communicable version of your ultimate.
Veno is the hero I played the most when I first started playing dota because he allowed me to have major impact in lane and fights despite being new and bad, I spammed the shit out of this hero and enjoyed every game until I got better and learned better heroes... the major issue with veno support is you basically lose lane in specific match ups and they're not rare... if you're up against a pudge, mirana, timber, PA, CK.... any core or support who can jump you basically, you lose the game and your core gets pissed af by your pick which makes it hard to spam the hero. it's true that enemies usually underestimate the impact of your ult until it's too late and plague wards must be spammed everywhere past mid game... off cooldown just drop them everywhere. Also Vessel is really good on him if you must go with a default starting build for some reason.
Been spamming veno support for about a year now, climbed tons of mmr cuz he does way too much I'd say one of his biggest weakness is lack of reliable stun, so make sure to itemize accordingly if none of your baboon teammates pickup a stun after they see your veno pick
Back in dota 1 era it was my favourite hero, I played it as carry since the ulti with aghanim would deal 1600 dmg plus the first skill it will guarantee kill on enemy
I didnt play him a lot but I sure have had many nasty encounters against him. When I played against him, he was enough to always kinda commit to punish him, because he always got under my nerves. So after I spend a couple of seconds chasing him, I have realized I have been slowed and poisoned by him a lot. So, if you can get under the nerves on your enemies as venomancer enough against the enemy melee hero, get some armor/shielding support items. I have always liked his skills but can't seem to get them right myself
i usually leave Wards at Lv1 cuz its own dmg feels "unreliable" with its 0 movement, the residual dmg and slow from Sting feels more consistent; Gale also reduces its cooldown per level so it allows u to be more active in fights. Lv1 Wards also helps me deny them faster against enemies trying to farm them for some gold (they cant ohko it), i mainly use it for vision and Sting application anyway. building cast range on him also feels sooo good lol
Adrianz, can you make a video dedicated for Mars's Arena? I don't understand why I cannot hit heroes within his arena, whether I'm inside it or not even with BKB my projectile cannot hit enemies, do they just invulnerable?
You even can make veil + BM for initiator after you got basic item for support like foce staff and glimer, that provide you with a lot of AoE magic damage and because he universal hero he can tank a lot more then your generic INT support.
Veno spammer here. Im a dogshit unranked immortal but my favorite build is blink, blademail and aghs. Also played against you in a turbo recently, you were IO safelane and crushed us xd
I play veno offline. I rush blink, scale only passive and wards, and farm 3 jungle camps at one time. Orb of corrosion, blink, no boots, sometimes no orb.
Back when i still play Dota i usually play venom on regural basic especially when i'm a bit burn out from being support that just baby sit a moron to unfortunately rage at the middle of the match So what i do is just you know queue pos 4 soft support and pick venom then max Q and W for easy kill but when thing get rough well max E is better since you can go jungle and become another pos 3 hero with all aura and aoe magic dmg with aghanim ofcourse And i can believe i say this but venomancer is the easiest hero to play in the game for newcomers beside you know, SNIPER.

That's now in his aghs scepter effect: the effect of venomous gale on the enemy hero is cut short before its full duration expires, (i.e. The target hero died, or the gale effect got dispelled) it will unleash a poison nova from the said target. When Venomancer dies, he will also release a poison nova. It has a 10 seconds cooldown.

Been spamming Veno ever since he was moved to Universal, through out my ~300 games as Veno I have 67% win rate which ain't bad, I LOVE to level up W first, since level 1 veno with Q is super useless, there's hardly anything to do on the lane, your basic attacks do nothing, but picking Q is (for me) viable whenever you know you gonna get a first blood, since leveling to level 2 ain't such a bother, but of course it all depends on your match up. Going Guardian Greaves is a must, but when we have someone who buys them like Necro, Undying or even Death Prophet on offlane? There's nothing bad with Boots of Bearing or if the game needs it, Travel Boots. My best Veno is if I'm picking him as a semi-carry, that nasty lil' asshole hurts real bad, but again ... he needs a good match up for that or else you gonna suffer big time. Mind you, his Plague wards ARE the best thing about him, the vision and info you can pick up is huge.
He needs too many levels as a support imo. If he gets no levels he does no damage other than his ult (specifically if he is maxing the passive + wards)
Annoying hero in both enemy & your team. In enemy team the reasons are obvious. And in your team - it has no stun (enemy can pick AM/weaver/clinkz/storm and just ignore venom), it is slow and 2-4k mmr people often feed with it a lot and also forget to not block your own camps with wards, etc...

That's now in his aghs scepter effect: the effect of venomous gale on the enemy hero is cut short before its full duration expires, (i.e. The target hero died, or the gale effect got dispelled) it will unleash a poison nova from the said target.
