I was using Linksys Velop and upgraded to TP-Link Deco X60. The TP-Link Deco X60 is master blaster by speed, coverage, devices Connectivity and security. TP-Link Deco X60 is really powerful model from TP-Link....
Wi-Fi 5 and WiFi 6 routers both can have tri bands 3 bands - 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 5GHz (backhaul) I guess, the newer WiFi 6E router has 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz
Excellent review man. You cover the basics, the facts, and perform a pretty solid experiment comparing the system. Now, I just want to have your 500 mbps d/u connection lol!
Great video! Enjoyed watching it as a Network Wiz myself. It is amazing how Wi-Fi has evolved through all these years! Always exciting to get the most out of the internet bandwidth available on our Wireless devices :D
If the decos are as close as 1 meter to each other, would it be a problem?Actually, there is a small distance in between, but it is covered with walls. And I want to buy 2 separate decos for that area and set up as a wired backhaul. I have already some decos in my house. I want to add more.
The price for this is about the same right now with the Deco M9 Plus. Would you rather have the X60 or the M9? I know M9 is only wifi 5 but it has tri band frequency which uses the 3rd band as a wireless backaul and the X60 is only dual band. Which do you think should I get?
I would go for the x60. The WiFi 6 will be more future proof in the next coupe of years as your get more WiFi 6 devices. Should perform better than tri band WiFi 5
I can get TP Link M9 Plus which is a Tri band system with WiFi 5 and TP Link X60 which is a dual band system with WiFi 6 at almost the same price. My home is a single floor apartment around 1600 sqft. And single brick concrete walls. Which one should I get?
Hello bi I have archer a6 can i connect deco m4 with archer a6 router via lan cable Can it support mesh with primary router or can i use deco m4 as primary router
@@joseveloso3052 100% worth it! And I found it for $226 US at Costco. I was trying to cover over 6000 sq ft with routers and wifi extenders, with hit and miss success. This system took care of my problem, I love it! All the best, Greg
@@gregoriopeduzzi Are you sure that Costco deal wasn't the X20 and actually the X60? Amazon has a similar deal but it's very deceiving and is actually the X20 3 pack even though the title says x60

Good vid. Now that you have had it for over a month, how has the stability been? I've read very mixed comments from Amazon reviews both wifi signal completely dropping, and the TP-Link App not working well for set up. I'm considering getting the Deco x20 / AX1800, since my internet into the house is only 300 mbps down / 120 mbps up. I'd be happy with a stable signal around the house that is 150 mbps down / 50 mbps up.
Been stable for me. App sets up well. It’s a little limited if your a power user, but has all the features your would want. Consistently get good speeds
@@varerkars thank you for the quick response. Good to hear. I don’t think we are Wi-Fi power users exactly. I was also thinking of doing a wired back haul in star config, but not sure if anything else can be directly connected to the network as an end of that star. Thanks again for your feedback.
Hi I recently got this system, my plan is 500/500 Fibre . With deco x60 I am getting ~350+download but only 100+ upload When hardwired I am getting ~400+ download and 300+ upload Is this what you observed as well

I am getting 550 with tplink extenders re650-ac2600 using them as wired access points with good old fashion wifi 5 !... my isp speed is 500, so not complaining:)
Can these be used via eithenet? My home is eithernet wired so I want to back haul that way. When I add the second unit it tries to connect wirelessly to the first deco instead of using the eithernet. I want it to use the eithernet. My setup is cable modem connected to 24 port switch, first deco connected to same switch. So when I add the second deco in my garage shop it’s too far away for wireless so I plugged it into eithernet jack. But it still tries to connect wirelessly. Can’t get it to connect via eithernet. Any help ?
Jamie White yes you can, I have two of them connected to my router, they are so good that I disabled the wifi on the router and now I have two access points with 4*4 mu mimo on each, zero issues across the house! Very robust and stable!
I have 1Gbps plan. On wifi, at the main router, I'm getting under 450D/200U. On lan/wired connection, the best was 880D/870U. Compared with the ISP provided router, this is slower on all connections. However, the signal is fantastic. Solid wifi 6 bars throughout 3 floors of my house using 2 decos. The second one is on ethernet backhaul.

Thanks. Very good layman’s explanation on the tech.
You’re using three units of X60. If you don’t mind, how big is your house.
2100 sqft. But I would say you need 3 to really cover every corner
Have you ever tried to place a p9 node in the Kitchen or in a nearby outlet? If so, how fast could it take the smarthpone?
Placement of nodes need to be in a good reception area to get the most of it.

May I ask for the to link mesh system, did you connect an Ethernet cord to each of the 3 routers or just the one?
Just one

No, you can only enable/disable the 2.4/5ghz
