Fontana will be uploaded in its entirety. If you dont want to see dont watch. I was watching it live and it broke my heart and still does to this day. In consultation with many ppl I have decided that whilst it is unpleasant it is a piece of Cart history. We should never forget. RIP 99 :(
If anybody is wondering where the normal CART ABC pit reporters, Gary Gerould and Jon Beekhuis, were, they were at IMS preparing to do the Indy 500 together for the first (and only) time ever.
I was at this race; I was in the 8th grade. My dad ran one of Carl Hogan's shops in Missouri. Been a Castroneves fan ever since. Thanks for uploading this and bringing back some great memories.
PS Thank you for th euploads, Im watching the 09 season inorder, I feel like im in college again. I forget the outcomes, so its like Im watching it for the first time. Gosh I hope indycar evolves back to this!
Michael drove the wheels off the car. Great defensive driving against Helio who was so much faster than anyone else. Think Helio had the top 20 fastest laps in the race. Tracy is so quick but the amount of mistakes he makes is crazy. Looked like he squeezed Dario too much.
Watching the whole season apart from Fontana. R.I.P Greg. Love Tracy, but too many mistakes! CART was amazing, better than F1. One man's ego ruined it all.
Andretti favoritism @ 1:03:11 . He's got half a straight's length between himself and the rest of the field, and sees the Green. However, @ 0:23.10 , Montoya has about 25% that distance and CART waves off the start. I loved CART, but they had a hard-on for Michael at (most) times
So sad to see how far CART had fallen just in 2-3 years...those stands used to be packed. And getting rid of Danny Sullivan and two legendary pit reporters, Jack Arute and Gerry Gammon, was the stupidest thing ever though I'm sure driven by economics (I'm sure they had to hiring cheaper talent as the series sank in popularity.) Tony George, the man who destroyed open wheel racing in America for two decades....

So NASCAR’s John Kernan and Marty Reid filled in.

RIP Tom Petty
1:21:30 for the PT/Dario incident.
Randall Dubin Hi i'm Paul Tracy, and this is Jackass.
how many times did those two get together?!
@@SwineBrothers At least 4 times. Houston 98, St Louis 99, Chicago 00, Denver 02, and I think another race in 01, but I don't know which.
that incident was very stupid and impacted the final result for Franchitti on championship
Marty Reid as a pit reporter! How unusual to see him before he was an announcer!
he was a commentator, he did truck racing. and he was a pit reporter for espn for many years. f1 and supercross mostly
This was the only CART/IRL race at Gateway I didn't attend

I hope he tears through the field again this year!!!

Was Gateway always that empty? Also it's hard to watch these 1999 races because of Greg Moore =( do you plan on uploading Fontana?
