Whether you are doing a home inventory project, or looking for a barcode scanner for work, Tera make some most reasonably priced scanners I have come across while not sacrificing on the quality. From simple 1D scanners to 2D scanners that will handle QR codes, Tera has you covered.

Thanks Jeremy. I don't think I would use one at home. I used to use one at work.

Hi Jeremy. I scanned several barcodes out in our yard. I have not taken the scanner back into the office to upload the scanned barcodes into an excel sheet. How do I go about doing that? Is there a software that works well with the Tera scanners? I figured I would be able to just upload the scanned numbers relatively easily.

Refer to page 2 in the user manual. You scan a QR code to upload the data stored in the scanner

@@Practical-IT Hi. When I upload to an excel sheet, it comes up with random characters that don't seem to stop. The actual barcode numbers don't appear. Do I have a setting wrong somewhere? Thank you for the quick replies. Much appreciated.

It could be an incorrect setting. This is not something that I am actually using right now.
The first step I would try to troubleshoot this further is to use something like Notepad for the upload to see if the random characters still happen. If they don't, save the file as a .txt file and then rename the file to use the .CSV extension which is something that Excel can import.
I suspect that the problem has something to do with either the encoding settings for the barcodes when scanned, OR with the settings for what character (Carriage Return [CR] and/or Line Feed [LF]) to include after each code.
I'm in the middle of a project right now, and don't have the bandwidth to do further testing until probably early July.
In the mean time, I would encourage you to reach out to Tera Digital support using the link below (it has email, phone and a contact form).

I hope this helps. Would be interested in hearing what the solution to the problem was if you are able to find one.
The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is to reset the scanner to factory defaults and try again. Good Luck.

Thank you. I have sent a message to Tera as well. I will definitely try what you suggested and will also let you know what the cause / solution was.

      Read manual. Page 10.
The option I believe you want is to use tab as a terminator instead of return.
Tha mimics the behavior of a keyboard. In any spreadsheet, enter will take you to the next line (field below current position) and tab will take you to the next field to the right.
If you have further questions, direct them at Tera support. I am unaffiliated with the scanner company.
