can you please let me know what the part numbers were for the SRViper cams that you purchased, and which part number is for intake and exhaust. Also i was a little confused with the plated link and pin explanation as I believe i may have been counting yours incorrectly. The help is greatly appreciated! New subscriber!

Ok lets start with the cams. from all of the research that I have done. The cams have all been updated to the 2019 year/model. Int cam #CAMSHAFT ASSY 1
      8KH-12170-00-00
      Exh cam#
      CAMSHAFT ASSY 2
      8KH-12180-00-00
Now lets address the cam timing question. So for this to work. you will have to first set the timing to the marks. Then observe the intake cam alingment marks. now there will be 4 marks that will line up with the sealing surface of the head. Then there will be two more marks. On the intake cam the mark is in the 2 o clock position. Then the exhaust will be in the 10 o clock position. In those positions there will be either 9 plates or 18 pins. but everything depends on observing the position of the of the farthest right mark and getting it back to that spot and then do the rest of the number counts. after that its fool proof. Or so to speak.

Was the cam swap a night and day difference? Also if replacing the cam tensioner can I just unbolt it and install the new one or do I need to take the valve cover off and zip tie the gears. Thanks

I wanna do the cams but I read you have to go through and do shimless buckets and go thought valve clearances?

So here is what I have learned about doing cams.............. If you are using Yamaha cams............... They are the most plug and play cam you could install. if you are in spec befor, you'll be in spec after.
alba,packard,hotcams........... anyone else you will for sure have to do a lash adjustment be for you do the final assembly. this is all from experience too.......... So best bet is to have a shim kit on hand.
