Final clip: we don’t know why, but it does raise the important point that middle lane hogging is often incorrectly diagnosed by impatient people who haven’t read the Highway Code rules 264 & 267: That we should return to the left “when it is safe to do so” and “ensure you do not cut in on the vehicle you have overtaken”. There shouldn’t be a moment where you cause the vehicle you have passed to brake to recreate safe space. And for me that means leaving a 2s gap.
If there's traffic behind me, I'll move over sooner, knowing that my higher speed with expand that gap pretty quickly. In the last clip, the difference between the van and the viewer wasn't enough for a swift move over. Furthermore, no blues on the police car means it should be staying under the speed limit. I suspect the copper was on his phone, then had a power trip at being shown up as an arsehole.
I don't pull back in until I've left a safe gap, likewise if I'm going from lane 3 back to lane 2 I make sure I'm not pulling into the blind spot of a lorry in lane 1, I always make sure I'm either pulling in well behind or in front of the lorry 2 lanes over so I don't appear out of nowhere in the mirrors.
Not sure about the exact UK rule but here (NL) it is lane 1 and 2, but not 3 or higher unless you need to be there to go somewhere So you can still overtake on a 2 lane highway, but never more than one at a time
Unfortunately it seems to be happening more frequently -I saw one the other day in the fourth lane. I think a lot of this is to do with "just in time" deliveries where drivers are given a delivery slot at their destination, and the company is penalised if they arrive late. I have heard of one case where a car factory was faced with stopping production because a delivery was delayed and the haulage company was threatened with a six-figure penalty. If you get some noddy pootling along at 50 mph in the middle lane it must be tempting to chance an overtake if you are running late.
Shocking actions from that police car😮 Absolutely no excuses for being that close. Even if the van driver was in the wrong which they clearly weren't as they were overtaking others. Genuinely dangerous driving needs to be reported 😤
But who do you report it to? There was a short TV series recently about police misconduct investigations which showed how they look after their own, regardless of the offence.
I agree. The cammer's dashcam seemed quite high, so I'm going to guess it was a wagon or larger vehicle and the van driver was leaving a decent gap before pulling in. It was by no means excessive. Copper not only drove badly initially, but by remonstrating with the van driver instead of getting on with his day, it had a marked effect on the vans driver's lane-keeping. Poor all round from plod there.
@@fablolliesrock You can send clips like this in to police complaints, and they do get taken seriously and acted on. You could also simply upload it via the police dashcam submission form for the local police force, as you would any other incident recorded on dashcam, might not be taken quite so seriously since it would likely be investigated by the same police force as the driver is from so I would send it to police complaints. The police driving is clearly unacceptable, and the Van actually pulled in too early, there was no more than 1 second between him and our vehicle, and the next pull in was even sooner. You are supposed to leave 2 seconds. The Police driver must be able to justify their excessive speed and closeness to the van, otherwise they shouldn't do it, it is not like he couldn't see the van overtaking before he got there!
Possible scenario for the girl in the Fiat. Checks left, clear, checks right, clear, but cam car arrives on scene, obscured by the vans as she’s looking left. She pulls out, leaning left, not checking herself in the mirror but trying to see if any cars are coming towards the parked vans. Pulls out, slightly fast, cam car is there. Slight panic, slow reaction. Genuine accident.
9:55 and the last clip…. It is infuriating when cops blatantly do things that are illegal [that they would delight in giving you a ticket for] with the attitude of ‘I am exempt just because I am a cop’
@@911HRW A police car drove very obviously in a dangerous manner, being that close to the van at anything remotely close to motorway speeds is dangerous.
The answer for the lorries at 8:20 is that HGVs are not allowed to be in lane 3. Also, the mentality of pointless overtakes is that they always feel the need to be the first in line. I agree with you at 10:30 because there were plenty of moments where traffic just suddenly stop, even on highways, as I have experienced many times. And that police driver in the end needs to be reported and reprimanded because that is unacceptable behavior for any member of law enforcement. Also, Ashley's Mug. To be fair to the P plater at 1:18, that is a horrible short slip road. During busy times you are better off waiting at the turn onto the slip road and then accelerate into a better gap. Too many try to fit in without looking and just as many make it awkward to fit in
Had an incident many years ago going down to Dover. Wasn't comfortable behind a car with push bikes on the roof. So i changed lanes just then two pushbikes came off his roof slung passed on my left side. It was like my guardian angel was in my head. 😂
6:48 Discounting the *lunge* that was intended to cause issue, I've found driving is a lot more relaxing if there isn't a 'right' lane. Anyone can go anywhere, people can be lost, people can miss their indicator when flustered, if there is no injury or damage just roll with it
Added context the learner was probably joining from the shopping centre exist. You can join the left or right lane, however there are traffic lifts and the left lane normally ends up being full, so it’s easier to slot in the right and then switch, otherwise you would never leave the shopping centre.
The "fireball" Tesco lorry crash was the start of 24 hours of absolute chaos on the M25 and A2 in North Kent. A second incident in the Dartford Tunnel added to the misery and brought everything to a halt on both major routes. Even on a bike, I got caught up in it because, in places, HGVs were (illegally) using all 4 lanes and not leaving enough space to get through the stationary traffic.
HGV's are allowed to use ALL 4 lanes southbound at Dartford as its not the M25 its the A282 and north bound they allowed to use all lanes until after the final junction proceeding the tunnels where the are only allowed in lanes 1 and 3 as lanes 2 and 4 are 7.5t restricted for the tunnel then after the tunnel, they allowed to use all lanes again until A13 junction
@@stevecampbell7589I was on the A2, where lanes 2 to 4 all go straight ahead, so, yes, the HGVs were in lane 4 illegally. It's irrelevant whether it's a motorway or not, as the rule also applies to multi-lane dual carriageways.
HGVs are allowed in the outer most lane of the A2 if they so wish. I am unware of any signage suggesting otherwise and there are no motorway restrictions in effect at that point
I have carried fire exstinguishers in my cars for many years and have stopped to assist with a car fire in the past. If an engine bay fire, switch off and only pop the bonnet to enable spray, do not lift it. The exstinguisher I used was bigger than the one you showed in your clip and it only just managed to stop the fire. Carry the largest you can afford and keep accessible in the boot. Once exstinguished leave the bonnet down (don't risk burns) and if not already done, call the fire service. It could reignite. Keep safe out there.
@@kenbrown2808 agreed. I've always had an extinguisher in my car. One time my neighbours van caught fire in the back (electriacl tool left on) and it did the square root of nothing. I'm not sure there's anything a hand held extinguisher could ever do in a vehicle fire. If your car catches fire, it's most likely going to be under the bonnet. So unless you're willing to lose your hands opening it to fail to put it out (can't really smother it because it's running of all the fuel beneath it), your best bet is get out and stand back.
@@diabeticdave7840 pull the inside hood latch before you get out. don't open the hood, just pull the latch. that way the fire crew only has to release the safety catch to open the hood and finish putting it out.
The Tesco lorry is well scary. As someone who formerly worked at German premium dealerships, I can confirm that the ability to drive to an acceptable standard is not a given, especially if it requires following rules or laws. And yes, I think the Fiat driver was checking if her makeup was okay.
1:52 I must admit, I think the old adage about, "If you're in the correct lane, you won't be undertaken..." applies here. Remaining in Lane 3 served absolutely no purpose to the ambulance.
Yes it did. Risk is lessened by placing more distance between the vehicle being overtaken also by seperating yourself from traffic you become visible to vehicles ahead sooner.
I've seen advanced emergency drivers use the middle lane if the motorway is clear because that gives them the most buffer space on either side, but they use lane 3 if a car is in lane 1, so they can pass nice and wide. So I forgive the ambulance there. It can be a struggle though I think when slower emergency vehicles are using blues on the motorway but aren't fast enough to overtake. I have seen Fire engines on blues having to travel in lane 2 because they're not exactly going to push 70 very easily
"if you are in in the correct lane, you won't be undertaken..." doenst apply when an emergencey vehicle has its blue lights on and on the motorway. they use lane 2/3/4 to stop other vehicles overtaking on the right as overtaking on the left is a should not (also classed as careless driving by the police when at high speed like flowing motorway speeds), that way they can control the traffic and have a clear road ahead to make progress. problem is so many drivers dont understand not to overtake (on the left or right) an emergency vehicle when its got the blue lights on. i got told this by 2 seperate advanced driving instructors (one was my dad who taught me to drive a car, trained emergency vehicle drivers in the 80s, talked multiple times over the years when both in a vehicle and saw something similar happening ahead of us) and one was my motorbike instructor in 2005.
There are a myriad of reasons why an ambulance would NOT want to be changing lanes while somebody tries to treat a patient on the move. Inserting needles, trying to stop bleeding, stabilise fractures, etc, etc, all sorts of things that you want as little disturbance as possible for.
Ashleys Mug - Green please, just like your lovely ST! Love the content on your channel, have been driving for 5 years now and really enjoy your delivery style and commitment to improving driving standards, not just for your pupils but everyone. Great attitude, keep up the good work!
i keep two extinguishers in my car, one secured on a mount under the front of the passenger seat and a second in the boot on the left hand side. i'd suggest upgrading the extguisher you have ashley to a 1kg powder type, they're the ones you'll find in buses/PSV's. they're the smallest ones that are useful against a vehicle fire and have a small gauge on them to check the pressure hasn't bled out of them slowly.
I was going to say "why would I give extra consideration to learners? If I change my behaviour towards them, then they'll pass and find out it's all different" But then I had a moment of reflection and the behaviour change isn't for them, it's for me. So message received Ashley
The behaviour change is for them too. I don't care how much you think it's your job to teach a scared 17-year-old about how "the real world won't go easy on you, so I won't either"; just have a bit of bloody compassion and help them build their confidence at their own pace.
7:30 this is a reason I prefer to drive on cruise where conditions allow. it removes one more thing from the things I need to keep track of. and yes, I do monitor whether my selected speed is still appropriate for conditions. I just don't have to glance at my speedometer to know if I've crept up or down from it.
13:00 Some irony in your viewer wanting the Police to pull over the van for hogging lane 4 whilst they hog lane 3. I know that stretch of the M25 quite well and its no wonder that the fastest lanes are normally lanes 1 and 2.
11:08 raised a laugh. Perhaps people are lulled into a false sense of security by comfort and quiet, plus acres of metal surrounding them? Would certainly explain the Chelsea tractor phenomenon! 😂
13:00 The van driver moved to the left at about the earliest safe time they could. Top job. Unfortunately, so many people move left so early that they practically scrape bumpers with the car behind that cutting other drivers up has become the expected norm, and everyone gets taken by surprise when someone actually makes sure that the driver behind has a decent fraction of the 2 seconds braking space that they need.
I don't think the horn 'against' the car with L plates did much. If they were a learn, it would have freaked them out. And if they were on test even more so. But then the horn shouldn't really be used as a rebuke anyway.
My son passed his cbt on a 50cc bike, stalled it on a roundabout, and got several cars honking horns at him, so he got off and pushed his bike home several hundred yards He had done a total of 100 miles and refused to get back on it. All because the honkers yep destroys confidence 😢
@@TheGalifrey Why do you think the driver needed to announce they were there at that point? What would the learner have done differently if he hadn't sounded the horn? Or what did the learner do differently because he did? There was no further avoidance necessary at that point.
@@paulsengupta971 What would the learner do differently if they hadn't honked? Well I'd guess the exact same move. And the more often they did it, without anyone saying "what the F are you doing?" the more confident they'd become that it's perfectly fine to do it. Until they actually crash, and potentially injure someone.... All because someone thought the horn was a bit over the top.
As a fellow HGV Driver I'm going to say the issue in the 2 clips was the use of the third lane on the motorway. I don't use it personally but I can get very tempting when stuck behind a slow driver and a similar speed middle lane hogger, which is often what causes other HGV drivers to go for the third lane at roadworks I find.
I've been extra conscious of the gap alongside of late even though I have always tried to maintain one. This compilation has reinforced the importance of it even if I frequently encounter drivers to seem irrationally wedded to being alongside other vehicles. Before today, I'd say you only have to see a lorry tyre pop to know it's not something you want to experience first-hand; now I can refer to exploding Tesco trucks. Dayum.
in the last clip, there could have been other reasons than the camera showed, for the police officer to want to talk to the van driver, but last I checked, that was not how the manual says to do it.
12:44 We know the type. They expect people to pull left across the bonnet of the car just passed, then get shirty when they have to slow down when the "boot it in anticipation" causes them to nearly rear end the car in front.
Hey Ashley 👋.. I keep the extinguisher within reach from the driver seat. Its no use in the boot if you are upside-down and burning. Great videos. I'm learning so much. Thank you for your time👍
Are you going to stay put and try to put the fire out? I've been in a vehicle in this situation, and the best thing you can do is get as far away as possible.
@ashley_neal ..absolutely not, sir! If i can, then I'm off! Cars can be replaced. Each to their own, but personally, if I'm trapped, I'd like that chance at a few seconds more of survival close to hand.. EDIT.. I'm pretty sure a fire extinguisher would have been useless with that lorry..
I agree with the fire extinguisher thing. I bought one for myself but thankfully I've never had to use it, for myself. However one day I did see a car that was on fire. It was a small manageable one, but I was able to put it out before it got out of hand. It also has an added bonus of scaring people I don't want to drive, because usually when they get in my car, they ask what the fire extinguisher is for, then I just say "in case my car catches on fire" they usually refuse to get in the car after I say that.
That van driver suddenly slowed after passing (lifted I think) so was probably over the speed limit when he spotted the police car and they will often not put blues on if using their VASCAR to clock the speed, but the approach speed from the police car was way excessive...
Regarding the passenger getting out of the vehicle in a queue at time 9:20 - I had that happen in front of me once, in the queue at a set of traffic lights. The difference in my case was that the passenger, a lad in school uniform, got out of the right rear door of the car, not on the left side. I left a print from the front tyre of my motorbike on the inside of the door. (And had to change my underwear when I got home!)
5:30 Couple weeks ago, someone was leaving a gap for anyone coming out of the petrol station while waiting at the lights, the guy behind started beeping their horn for him to move up. Eventually, the guy overtook into the space that was left. Lights were still red.
Amazes me how many people don't have a fire extinguisher at home let alone in the car, pick it up pull the pin and put a fire out in a few seconds as opposed to running to the kitchen filling a saucepan with water running back to the fire only to realise one saucepan wasn't enough etc etc.
Not to mention the brake lights of 2 or 3 other vehicles ahead being quite visible in the night lighting conditions. Why didn't they slow when they saw the other brake lights ahead?
I've seen that happen at 12:05 quiet a few times, my guess is they have been told by the satnav to get in right lane at the roundabout in quarter of a mile. So they plan early and get in right lane.
I keep saying this but the standard and respect for driving is just getting lower and lower and why i keep a dashcam. Respect and common sense towards others in car and in general sadly are decreasing.
Rule 265 The right-hand lane of a motorway with three or more lanes MUST NOT be used (except in prescribed circumstances) if you are driving any vehicle drawing a trailer a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes but not exceeding 7.5 tonnes, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes a passenger vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver a passenger vehicle with a maximum laden weight not exceeding 7.5 tonnes which is constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter.
My theory on premium car brands attracting muppets: The higher the cost, the more entitled the driver and the less laws apparently apply to them. "You wait at that read light, peasant, I and my Merc have places to be"
It's the same attitude of motorists towards bikes whenever their argument comes down to them paying road tax, rather than any of the numerous legitimate complains one might have. People think them paying more to drive their vehicle about should mean they get better treatment.
It's also the same with premium cars and parking anywhere they like. Parking fines be damned. You see it all the time in city centers. If you can afford one of those massive Mercedes 4x4s, then a £70 fine for parking on double yellows is the same as a parking ticket for us regular folk
At 8:35 white Audi enters the mini-roundabout just before or, at worst, at the same time as the second car. That's not 'pushing in front', I think and good driving in congested traffic. Second car driver then commits the offence of driving over the white centre marking, apparently, in an attempt to make it look like he's been impeded and the Audi driver failed to give priority to him.
Plus looks like not many cars from the right of cammer go across the roundabout, so very hard to emerge legally from where the Audi does. I don’t have a problem cars pushing out a bit in that situation.
The variable speed limits at 01:42. Every year when i drive round to the UK i encounter these things. I would call them stupid, but they aren't - they're actually smart. They're just run stupidly. I'm only in the country 2 weeks a year and i've lost count of the number of times i've driven an almost empty section of motorway at 40 or 50mph for no identifiable reason. I don't think the operators realise that this sort of nonsense leads to a reduction in trust, and ultimately obedience of the rules of the road
Lorry fire…. I want to add….. A few of us at our very typical workplace are fire marshal trained…. We have had training using the fire extinguishers you typically see in a workplace While there are different types, water, foam, etc, but what shocked us was how little comes out of these things. And the ones in the car are even smaller. So if you see a massive explosion & fire like in this video….don’t attempt to tackle it with your car fire extinguisher-it would be completely hopeless. Likewise if your electric or hybrid car has an electrical fire….and even if you have the correct mini fire extinguisher with you-the advice given to us was……abandon it and get away, call 999. Those fires are especially dangerous & difficult to put out.
2:36 I got caught in the queue this caused. After queuing for a few mins, I knew we’d be there a while, and when I heard sirens, I looked out. The first fire appliance came through splitting lanes 3&4, & I kept right after they passed, everyone else moved back over. DONT do this if you’re queuing, as Ashley says re police vehicles, there’s likely more on the way…. A few minutes later the next one came, aggressively splitting lanes 1&2. (Defo not how they were taught I suspect, and again people moved back after they passed. Now no one had any room to move so the ambulance that came next had one medic walking through directing people out of the way & took 45 mins to move about 300m. When we were finally allowed to pass, (exiting J6 to re-enter), the Tesco Lorry was just a shell, the 2 appliances our side complimented by 4 on the anticlockwise side.
The Smart motorways are not smart. In the example shown, you can change lane to go the speed you wish, be it 50, 70, 40 and 50. I've seen these issues quite a few times. Its a Government operation so therefore it will be expensive and incompetently done.
There's a yellow box I go across frequently that has people stop in it more often than not. It is at the entrance for a fire station which has a police station right next door. Not once have I witnessed the police do anything about it.
Regarding the 2 motorway clips at round 8:00, obviously it's the lorries illegally using the outside lane of the motorway. See it all the time unfortunately... Here's a question though; do the same rules still apply when there's roadworks in place/lane closures?

Moved from the UK to Malaysia. I've taken all the lessons from my instructor, TH-camrs like yourself and driving in the UK and being aware and predicting what could happen. Never had an accident and hopefully never will, but oh my goodness, the poor driving in the UK compared to what happens over here on a daily basis... can't compare. In one day, I've had a cop speed without blues and go straight in a right hand turning lane, then I had a car go in the wrong direction, I had a car drive in the emergency lane, I had a car overtake me, slow down - but not even to brake check, to being on their phone for 5 minutes and being overtaken by me safely again. Come to Malaysia Ash and drive!
A lot of tescos hgv fleet and a large number of other hgs run on LNG liquefied natural gas. Rather than diesel, or in a car petrol. Its normally very safe but as the truck left the carriageway and hit the start of the steel barrier between the slip road and lane 1, it will have ripped right into the fuel tanks, normally on the left hand side right behind the first axle, igniting them instantly. A perfect storm of things to cause a bad fire. The vast majority of LNG trucks go around with no problems at all. LNG is more prone to an rapid fire as its stored under pressure compared to Diesel which is at atmospheric pressure and actually quite hard to ignite.
@8:00, obvious worng is the HGV in lane 3 when they are not allowed to be there, other wrong is the cam car overtaking on the left in flowing traffic and not slow moving traffic. in the last clip, i think the van was speeding, possibly just let off the throttle after noticing the police car behind to slow down and caught the police car out who was catching them to give the driver a warning to watch their speed rather then pull them over. i have seen a police biker catch a biker and just advise them to keep their speed below the posted limit before rather than pull them over.
there is a rule of thumb regarding vehicle fires and other such incidents: hold your fist out with your thumb pointing up. if you can still see part of the incident around your thumb, you're too close.
Regarding the clip at 0:40, it's amazing how many drivers treat Stop signs like Give Way signs. I don't know about Great Britain, but they are quite common in Northern Ireland. I guess drivers quickly forget about the rules, sink into poor habits and then don't pay any attention to Stop signs after a while. (Confession: I did this too before I started watching Ashley's channel.)
In most of Great Britain, stop signs are very rare and used only where there is very good reason, so should always be taken seriously, but normally the roads have been improved so they are not needed, so many people have no experience of them. Some places seem to have a lot more, often for no obvious reason, so some people do learn to treat them as Give Way. Definitely inconsistent across the country.
@@kenbrown2808 Their larger roads don't need them, they always have good visibility at junctions, mainly due to a lack of trees or hedges! Well trained then 😂
There's a stalk by the steering wheel for replying on the radio!

To be fair to the P plater at 1:18, that is a horrible short slip road. During busy times you are better off waiting at the turn onto the slip road and then accelerate into a better gap. Too many try to fit in without looking and just as many make it awkward to fit in
After 40yrs I still try and avoid short slip roads unless it's busy/queuing or low traffic.
Regarding "the less scary one on the motorway". When on a motorbike it is scary and very dangerous when parts of vehicles or loads come flying.
Thankfully, I've never had the pleasure.
@@ashley_neal I did and it almost killed me. Missed it by mere inches.
Thats why I always call when I come across debris that could even so much as potentially cause imbalance to motorcycles
True, but still less scary than a massive fireball with a burning lorry drifting across the motorway.
Had an incident many years ago going down to Dover. Wasn't comfortable behind a car with push bikes on the roof. So i changed lanes just then two pushbikes came off his roof slung passed on my left side. It was like my guardian angel was in my head. 😂
When you get that gut feeling go with it 🙂
I had the same thing driving across the USA many years ago: two deckchairs dislodged themselves from the roof rack and came crashing onto the road.
I came across a bicycle in the middle lane of the M4 just outside Swindon!

Fair play for carrying an extinguisher.... not sure you'd have been able to put that fire out with it though 🤣
True, but if the lorry cabin had a fire you could put it out and rescue the driver.
@@jaycee330 not if it had much of a fire. that extinguisher is about, patch-in-landscaping-where-some-plonker-dropped-a-cigarette-stub size.

That grey Audi was going too fast and tailgating the red car, what an idiot.
8:02 I’ll take Trucks in the outside lane for 3 points , please Ashley!
That and overtaking on the left and 'middle' lane hogging.

i keep two extinguishers in my car, one secured on a mount under the front of the passenger seat and a second in the boot on the left hand side. i'd suggest upgrading the extguisher you have ashley to a 1kg powder type, they're the ones you'll find in buses/PSV's. they're the smallest ones that are useful against a vehicle fire and have a small gauge on them to check the pressure hasn't bled out of them slowly.
Ashley's mug is the best mug.
In 3+ lane motorways, no MGVs or HGVs allowed in outside lane! Could be some expensive penalties there
13:00 Some irony in your viewer wanting the Police to pull over the van for hogging lane 4 whilst they hog lane 3. I know that stretch of the M25 quite well and its no wonder that the fastest lanes are normally lanes 1 and 2.
It didn’t sound to me like they wanted the police to pull the van over, it was more questioning about whether they would.

2:45 Went past this anticlockwise at 6am truck was unrecognisable, caused chaos for a long time.

That single beep was a hey I am here, correct use IMHO.
@@TheGalifrey Why do you think the driver needed to announce they were there at that point? What would the learner have done differently if he hadn't sounded the horn? Or what did the learner do differently because he did? There was no further avoidance necessary at that point.
Correct use, I think the learner will be a bit more careful when changing lanes after.
@@paulsengupta971
What would the learner do differently if they hadn't honked? Well I'd guess the exact same move. And the more often they did it, without anyone saying "what the F are you doing?" the more confident they'd become that it's perfectly fine to do it.
12:39
I think Surrey Roads Policing would be interested in this… certainly Not what I’D expect
11:02 was brilliant and should be in a standup comic’s routine. Loved it 🤣
I hope those three people enjoy their mugs.
10:27 I saw those brake lights come on nearly a decade ago, and I'm still waiting for the cammer to react..
Ashley's Mug, I read them everytime, you can't get me out that easily Ash! 🤣
I keep saying this but the standard and respect for driving is just getting lower and lower and why i keep a dashcam. Respect and common sense towards others in car and in general sadly are decreasing.
Rule 265
The right-hand lane of a motorway with three or more lanes MUST NOT be used (except in prescribed circumstances) if you are driving
any vehicle drawing a trailer
a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes but not exceeding 7.5 tonnes, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter
a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes
a passenger vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver
a passenger vehicle with a maximum laden weight not exceeding 7.5 tonnes which is constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter.
Thanks, very good detail!

Ashley's mugs have definitely all been claimed by now!
10:25 also something to point out is look through the cars back window, you can see the brake lights of the ahead cars...
Lots of mug spotters here. I'm going to need to watch an older video to see what the text usually says because I think I'm usually on autopilot 😂

We have had training using the fire extinguishers you typically see in a workplace
While there are different types, water, foam, etc, but what shocked us was how little comes out of these things.
Wow, dangerous driving from the police on three of the clips, but that final one takes the biscuit.
I see more and more HGV's in lane three. But I can understand it when you have cars dawdling in lane two.
Dawdling along on congested roads doing the posted speed limit through average speed camera check areas while also overtaking vehicles in lane 1
Not once have I witnessed the police do anything about it.
they should have a lad with a collection box on a long handle.
Regarding the 2 motorway clips at round 8:00, obviously it's the lorries illegally using the outside lane of the motorway. See it all the time unfortunately... Here's a question though; do the same rules still apply when there's roadworks in place/lane closures?
12:19 - you can't run out of something that you do not have in the first place 🤣

That lorry fire though.. Glad the driver was okay, but what caused _that_?
@edwardpurkis1084 ..oh
Thank you.

Stop signs really just signify a failure in road planning
@@nigels.6051 driving in iceland, this fall, I noticed an almost total absence of stop signs.
@@kenbrown2808 Their larger roads don't need them, they always have good visibility at junctions, mainly due to a lack of trees or hedges! Most of the towns also have plenty of visibility at junctions as far as I remember. I assume you are from USA were they are common, in which case you will find Great Britain quite similar to Iceland, but with trees and hedges, we have stop signs only at junctions with poor visibility, they are there to tell you that you need to be more careful than normal, not simply to tell you that you must stop, as they do in USA.
