I don't think Cobain ever harmed a fan, so, yeah, it was his stage. He stopped several performances to actually help fans in need. Punching instruments does not count.
Mad respect for when Kurt was performing and some guy was harassing a girl in the audience and he stopped it.

The Nickelback one is understandable. NOBODY wants to play a concert to a live audience that DOESN'T want to be there and dodge fucking rocks during every song. Most of these aren't really freakouts either.

Agreed. I do enjoy nickelback here and there, and I think they’re an alright band.
However, hate them or not, pouring your life’s work into something in attempts to make people enjoy it and make them happy, only to have it all crushed by an entire crowd of people can be soul crushing. I think chad can be a huge dick, but damn does it seem to hurt when that happens. Can’t help but feel for them.

Grohl and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park are really great talents and people. They're able to give a great performance and still look out to make sure everyone is safe and having a good time

Which only showed Billie Joe’s ignorance/drunkenness, Usher is an industry vet too and he’s been in the game since the mid 90s.
Usher also played before Green Day, so the organizers had already in advance decided to cut them but, as far as I can tell, said nothing before they went on stage. Terrible management.

my favourite moment at any concert ive been too was when i saw pearl jam and a guy was starting fights and making people uncomfortable in the crowd so eddie said hey you can just come up on stage and sit with us and once the guy hopped the fence thing eddie was like you wish and kicked him out

Let's be honest, some of these "freak outs" were TOTALLY justified. If someone's being a dick in the audience they deserve to be publicly humiliated.

Yeah, the laser pointers I couldn’t blame. I also couldn’t blame Courtney, nickelback or Justin Bieber.. Bieber’s “freak out” could’ve had a more dangerous outcome since he could have slipped and gotten hurt.

Definitely. I might not like some of these bands but I wouldn't go see them then throw things at them or use a laser pointer. And bands that stop a show when I fan gets hurt is the right thing to do. However flipping a pino because of lights or stopping a show to wait for a person missing a leg to stand up isn't cool. Not cool at all.
Armstrong's iheart freakout, as intoxicated as he may have been, wasn't just a childish freakout though.
In the original video you could see the 5 minute counter that he first pointed out abruptly change to one minute.
Bieber or Usher or whoever was on before Green Day went long and instead of management either stepping in and cutting that act short or spreading out the cuts, dumped a lot of it onto Green Day, as they were the rock band between pop acts.

I went to Mayhem Feast when Avenged Sevenfold was one of the headlining bands and M. Shadows stopped singing to kick a guy out for punching a woman who clearly didn't want to mosh. He wouldn't continue the show until that guy was kicked off the property. Love Avenged Sevenfold even more after that happened. 💕
I'm happy TOOL made the list, but I'm sad it's not at least top 10. Maynard completely schooled that dude w/o missing a note. That's pretty God damn impressive.
Definitely. Tool has always been my favorite band ever since I first saw the visual masterpiece that is the video for Prison Sex. Maynard Judo-flipping some idiot into a choke-hold, all while never missing a beat to the song only cements it further.

The fact that Roger Waters didn't make the list is quite surprising. He spat on a rowdy fan and was disillusioned with concerts after that point, and that was the birth of Pink Floyd's "The Wall"

I have seen the full video of the Billy Joel meltdown and it is epic how he manages to freak out and continue the song. At one point, I think he even yells in key with the song. The Billie Joe Armstrong thing was absolutely justified. If the promoters or whoever didn't give them ample warning, but instead just cut time in the middle of the song, that was absolutely unprofessional.

"Bad Reputation" - Joan Jett wrote this in response to the record labels who refused to accept her as a solo act.
"Fake Friends" - another song Joan Jett made famous along the same lines.
MJK was my favorite! He said on Joe Rogan's podcast, if you get on his stage, he will knock you out! 🤣 I've seen Chester Bennington stop in the middle of the show to kick out fans. A girl was crowd surfing and a bunch of dudes were groping her. He had a freak out cussing the guys out, threatening them and refused to continue until they were all removed. Axl's freak outs are legendary though!

The TOOL entry should have gotten #1 just on technical difficulty alone - keeping up with the song *while* downing a rowdy fan and putting him in a chokehold is amazing! To be fair, there are plenty of easily mispronounceable rivers, mountains, towns, etc. in the States as well. Worcester, Massachusetts is pronounced "wooster" for some reason. Near where I live there's a town called Tooele that's pronounced "too-will-uh" and another called Hurricane but pronounced "her-a-cun." 🤷♂️

I saw Kanye do a big ranting set at Bannaroo 2014 while in a touring band myself at the time. Imagine half the crowd at the main stage heading to other stages lol Thats what happened when he started cutting off his DJ and yelling "Where tha press at? They wrote a bad review about last year's set."

I was expecting to see Scott Stapp from Creed on here. He was doped up on painkillers that the "rock doc" had given him and due to extreme exhaustion, crap he took from his jealous band members, the pills he was on, undiagnosed bipolar, and his agents pushing him to do a year and a half tour, he asked the crowd during "Who's Got My Back" if they had his back. They replied yes and he pointed at his band members and said, "I dont think they do." He then flopped on his back and sang the rest of the song just lying on his back. I think that was right after his car accident too that his agents pulled him out of the hospital to shoot a music vid... Needless to say Creed broke up after that...a shame because they were amazing.
I wonder if alot of these rock bands have similar experiences...they are super exhausted but they have to keep going and take drugs and pain killers that "rock docs" give them...

They DID have their set halved. Not *before* they got on stage, but WHILE they were playing. They halved Green Days set for Usher, and their way of telling Green Day was *"YOU HAVE ONE MINUTE REMAINING"*

I got so tired of hearing about how much people hate nicklback I found myself sticking up for them 😆 I was never a fan and I'm a huge metal head but I never got why the metal community hated nicklback so much they may have had a couple huge pop hits but that's no reason for all the crap that band had to endure there actually a very good rock band and all listen to metal they even had my hero Dimebag Darrel play solos on one of there albums I'll never be a fan of them but I have respect for them and really sick of the hatred to them I think it takes a strong band to go through so much crap and still play there music that makes them real to me

I saw Kanye in San Jose in 2016. I believe it was the second concert of that tour, with Sacramento being the third and last one. He went of on a rant when I saw him.
