I've definitely played *Tekken Tag Tournament 2, The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Def Jam: Fight for NY, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, BlazBlue: Centralfiction, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4*
I agree. Armageddon was basically a game that put quantity over quality, which is made clear as it was made during a time when Midway tried to make Mortal Kombat a franchise with annual releases, hence why most of the fighters were modified copy-and-paste models from Deadly Alliance and Deception, and especially why Motor Kombat did not have much content compared to Puzzle Kombat and Chess Kombat.
That's all well and good until it's your favorite characters that get axed. Then, you lose interest in that entry. Honestly, an HD remaster of Armageddon could fix those issues, like adding proper fatalities.
In Marvel vs Capcom franchise, while more than 70 characters have appeared in the franchise, Marvel vs Capcom 2 has the highest number of playable characters in the franchise totaling 56 characters. While that number is lower than all of the games on this list, it is almost right below Tekken Tag Tournament 2, as in number of playable characters
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, the latest game in the franchise, has no X-Men characters, because Capcom lost license right in X-Men characters. So in order to increase the number of characters, whether over 70 or over 100, assuming if the company or those companies ever make a sequel of it, they will need X-Men characters also
No cuz Disney is stubborn and refuse to include X Men and F4 characters til they buy Fox. Now they can include them now since they bought Fox. Just keep your fingers cross for the next MVC!
Yes, and that game has the highest number of playable characters in the franchise. However, the reason it didn’t make on this list is because the number is lower than all of the games in the series. It’s total number of playable characters is 56 actually. Note that this list is supposed to be the largest roster, focusing on quantity
*Tekken Tag Tournament 2, The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Def Jam: Fight for NY, Super Smash Bros. If these came out today like Mortal Kombabt armageddon, and Marvel vs Capcom 3 . Most of them will be DLC, miss the days were the game was all completed on purchase.
To this day I'm still amazed at much content Super Smash Bros ultimate has with such a massive character roster from every game in the series, 64, melee, brawl,Wii u, 3DS and new characters and DLC characters. Nintendo really out did themselves.
I remember back in December of 2018 when Smash for Switch was announced I was really excited then when we got the “Everyone was here” trailer I got even more excited for the game which would then be revealed to be called Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Then came the extra fighters which the trailers were fun to watch I still remember Ridley’s reveal trailer and him stabbing Mario to death with his tail which totally shocked me the first time I saw it. Then we had Simon’s reveal trailer which had Death killing Luigi and we saw Luigi’s corpse which also shocked me the first time I saw it. And so on. Then we got Piranha Plant which I was like wtf lol. Then we got the 2 DLC fighters passes which was the best part of Smash Ultimate for me the excitement and curiosity of who’d make it in Smash I remember watching the I still remember all the excitement people got when certain characters got in my favorites were Banjo, Minecraft Steve, Sephiroth, and of course Sora good times sometimes I go back to all the Smash Ultimate trailers just to relive the memories.
At first, I wasn’t aware of the earliest Smash Ultimate news because I was still in a Bendy and the Ink Machine phase. I began to play Ultimate 2 weeks after the game came out since my sisters wanted me to join them. Despite my first day playing it to be more patient towards BATIM, I end up obsessing over the platform fighter. I’ve already mained my mii brawler but hated on Mr. Game & Watch. Then I would realize DLC next year. For Piranha Plant, I jokingly wanted to main the character (I was also wtf when I noticed the Mario enemy going to make an appearance) until I thought they looked fun. Now they’re one of my mains. For Joker, I wasn’t fond of the announcement since I still hold a grudge on Persona 5 winning over The Fractured But Whole. For Hero and Banjo & Kazooie, I showed hype. This follows with the other characters with the exception of Byleth. Throughout the past 5 years, I obsessed over this game. I claimed this being my favorite video game. I remember I would thinking and talking about it nonstop. I remember would watching many TH-cam videos daily. I remember being part of it’s community, agreeing or disagreeing if character is broken or not liking a professional player. While I began focusing on my responsibilities more, such as college and family, this would always be in my heart. As for my input with another Smash Bros game after Ultimate, I think it’s unlikely. I mean, it would be cool but I heard that Sakurai said he’s done (I like how he’s now able to unwind). Yet again, we’ll never know until it happens
Not a Fighting Game But The Adult Swim Library of characters Is supermassive If Adult Swim ever decides to make a sequel to their Museum Bumper I hope they Include Early Cuyler (Squidbillies) Baby Cakes (China IL) Harvey Birdman Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law (2000-2007;2018) Clay Puppington (Moral Orel) Warden or Jailbot (Superjail) Gary Bunda (Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell) and much more I can say
Yes, I have 6 out of 10 Games from this list, & it's a blessing for me that I played more than 500 hours in this largest roster Fighting Game! I love every bit of this experience!
The only one of the bunch I've touched is the one in the thumbnail, and my only complaint about it is that Liu Kang's chains weren't his weapon. I mean, showing him wielding them in the intro, then giving him nunchaku like Johnny Cage? COME ON!
With the 2k wrestling games . You also get 100 caw slots . With how great community creations is. Some of the caws in community creations are better than the in game models . Anyways that would out you at 340. Now you have 5 packs of dlc. I think they have 5 wrestlers per dlc. That would put you about 370 wrestlers. But if we are including caws. Fire pro wrestling world has the biggest roster. They have 1500 caw slots. Plus the base roster . The base roster includes New Japan and Stardom wrestlers and original wrestlers .
Yes, I have played King of fighters 2002, Mortal Kombat Armageddeon, and DBZ tenkaichi 3. The others I have either heard about or played a different version and I could already see that an updated version would have a huge roster. I thought Marvel vs Capcom 2 would make it into this list.
Of this list, I've only played MK and Smash Ultimate and I've only enjoyed Smash. I understand that some characters are mechanically better than others, but sometimes I just wanna be Mega Man.
You're wrong about Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. 1. There were 65 characters on the PlayStation 2. You did not take into account that only 1 created character in KAF is always active when logging into your profile (entering your password in the main menu). And it doesn’t matter that there are 2 games, each with its own KAF fighter. The game does not support more than one password. That is, technically there are 66 fighters, but only 65 are active. And if we take into account the Nintendo Wii version, then a real 65th fighter has been added - Khamileon. Together with the remaining single cell for the KAF fighter, the result is 66 active characters. 2. And yes, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is similar to The King of Fighters '98 UM + The King of Fighters 2002 UM only in terms of the list of fighters. In essence, this is not just a collection of all the characters, but a continuation of the plot.
I love fighting games, but don't like the massive rosters. I like recent games with the recent roster decreases. It gives other fighter characters a chance to shine
You should at least study the game carefully. 1. Yes, Alex and Steve are highlighted, but the last 2 costumes are not stupid recolors of them, but additionally Zombie and Creeper. Moreover, the creeper has thin arms and legs. 2. Villager, like Inkling, have pairs of characters of the opposite gender. For the villager it is a girl, and for the Ingkling it is a boy. The same situation with Pokemon trainers, Robin, Byleth and... The Hero has 4 characters in the set, while in addition to Bowser Jr. with him in one set all 7 Koopalings. Technically it's like Peach and Daisy (including the other Echo Fighters). Which is almost like Pyra/Mithra and a Pokemon trainer with beasts, but only separately. 3. And if you look at the list of all the spirits, then only one of them has already exceeded 1000 characters, if not less due to my calculation error. By the way, these are summoned characters for battle.
I always admire fighting games with more than 40 playable characters ever since I was young I get hyped about it. But fighting games today in my opinion feels like the list gets shorter and we are force to buy old characters in that said fighting game just to be able to play it on their newest entry. I don't mind paying for DLC's as long as they are newer/guest characters but paying a character that was free on their last game is a highway robbery.....
And 2K24 will get bigger with the five DLC packs planned to launch throughout the year. Just ignore the third pack with a bunch of no name football players
@@Sk4tman91 Yes, you can make a fighting game list without Street Fighter franchise. This list is not about Street Fighter. This list is about fighting game roster with highest number of playable characters. Also, Street Fighter IV has 44 characters. Street Fighter V has 46. You only mentioned Ultra Street Fighter 4 there
AND????? The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match is not the biggest in the series. In The King of Fighters, teams are made up of 4 characters on the roster (which has 36 fighters), but the last one always changes to a striker, which depends on which character of the team will be the last one chosen before the fight. There are a total of 91 characters (if I counted correctly), according to Wikipedia -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_of_Fighters_2000 And this is 10 more characters than in the roster of The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match, where there are only 81 characters, according to the same Wikipedia -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_of_Fighters_2002

Those games contain lower than Tekken Tag Tournament 2. MvC2 contains highest number of playable characters in the franchise containing 56, but Tekken Tag Tournament 2 contains 59
That playable character number is lower than all of the games on this list. Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the lowest on this list contains 59 playable characters. This is about quantity
@@caetmoniza8907 ok that doesn't change the fact before Tag 2, Armageddon & even Smash Ultimate out of all games, the only game that had the largest roster [Before Fight For New York] in the 2000's was MVC2 with 56. That's why I was shocked that it wasn't on the list, if they did an honorable mention & brought up Marvel 2, that's a sign of why it didn't make it on the list or even Capcom vs SNK 2
@@luckystudent00 that’s only when you are talking about games from 2000s. This isn’t about certain gaming generation. I was also surprised that MvC2 wasn’t on this list, but that’s because like I said TTT2 contains 59, MvC2 contains 56
MK Armageddon brought the best roster ever, but took away a lot of features. There were no longer fatalities (instead they implemented a bland create your own fatality system with generic moves). also they reduced unarmed fighting styles from 2 to 1. in MKD or MKDA if you didnt like one style, you can try the alternate style but in MKA if you dont like the style, then character is over for you. Story was pretty bland too imo, protagonist is bland, final boss is generic as its gets, all you do is using the same chracter and beating all characters in roster one by one. Still, it was a very good game, brought a lot of unique things like Create A Fighter, God of War style konquest mode, Motor Kombat game and Aerial kombat. but it could have been better
Because Super Smash Bros Ultimate have easily the most LARGEST Roster in Fighting games History, that makes Smash Ultimate the Best Fighting game of All Time. Smash have the most Greatest soundtracks and defienitily theme song, not too hard gameplay and a surprisilly good Story Mode as being Fighting game. My favourite Smash characters are Mario, Sonic, Little Mac, Dark Pit and Meta Knight. Super Smash Bros Ultimate have the Largets Roster, but there's still missing characters in Smash like Shadow, Paper Mario, Shantae, Geno and Waluigi. These are characters what I'll hope to see coming to the Next Super Smash Bros game if it never coming and I really hope there is still coming a new Smash game even after Ultimate what is a masterpiece. About of Super Smash Bros, would you make a video "10 the most Expected Smash characters for the Next Smash Bros", that would be an awesome video to see next! 😊❤

Damn! And I thought M.U.G.E.N. would be the game with the most rosters all in all...
No
Who made this list?
Bring back Def Jam 😢
DBZ doesn't have *OVER 9000* (characters) 😏
Where is Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on this list, it has a massive roster too.
same thing i was expecting like no.1
That’s what I thought at first, but that one contains 56 characters, compared to Tekken Tag Tournament 2 having 59 characters
You forgot marvel vs Capcom 2 and ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3
And I love the character roster of those two games.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 would be the one to choose.
Those games contain lower than Tekken Tag Tournament 2. MvC2 contains highest number of playable characters in the franchise containing 56, but Tekken Tag Tournament 2 contains 59
I wish Street Fighter has a Dream Match Game with Everybody from 1 'till 6 in the Base.
A lot of game console fighting games have huge selection screens, and MUGEN (Elecbyte) has REALLY HUGE ones... :O #FightingGames #MUGEN
Question: Where in the Bloody Hell is Marvel vs Capcom 2 with they 56 Characters?
Even ole schnoop dowg
How about mobile game
Storms connection rosyer is bigger than 4
Because Super Smash Bros Ultimate have easily the most LARGEST Roster in Fighting games History, that makes Smash Ultimate the Best Fighting game of All Time. 😊❤
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is missing.
That one has 56 characters, lower than Tekken Tag Tournament 2 containing 59 characters
mvc 2?
sad mvc2 not on this
Same, except the number of playable characters is low with only 56, compared to Tekken Tag Tournament 2 containing 59
What about marvel vs capcom 2
That one has 56 playable characters, lower than all of the games on this list
No MUGEN!?
