Not many actors could convince the audience that they had a twin brother. Look for the subtle differences in the characters.

I agree he's a great actor, but let's not go crazy, convincing an audience you're twin brothers isn't all that hard.
@@thealgerian3285 It;s the nuances that separate them that make it difficult. You want to make sure the audience knows which one you’re doing in a camera shot or on stage. Same thing the classic Sci-fi show “Sliders” when you had the main characters interact with their counterparts in the parallel dimensions they traveled through in an attempt to get to their home universe.
Ryan, Martin Landau was one of the greats of our age, and this episode shows pulling off the performances of twin brothers, each different in their way, is no easy feat.
I totally agree Theodore. He was also great in North by Northwest.

My dad bought twenty acres of bare land in the desert for $30,000 and sold it for $40,000 the same day. He showed me the piece of land - it had last sold for $45 million dollars and that was twenty years ago.

Fun fact: Martin Landau in this episode of Columbo (Double Take), plays Dexter Paris and Norman Paris. Prior to this, he had played Rollin Hand in the Mission Impossible TV series for 3 seasons. After he left the show, his character was replaced by Leonard Nimoy for two seasons. Nimoy's character was named Paris.

I first saw Martin Landau in Nevada Smith, when I was a kid, where he played a bandit and an evil man who murdered the Indian mother of Steve McQueen and made a wallet out of her skin and I never forget it. No matter how nice the character he plays I still have that image in my mind. And the same with Frank Sinatra, who played a terrorist's in Suddenly and Telly Savalas who played a sadistic psycho of a Foreign Legion sergeant in Beau Gest.
I think it was interesting that Columbo didn't try to spoil the twin's ruse to impersonate his brother for financial information, and also played along for his own advantage
Peter Faulk pulled around like a child with a puppy!

At 5:22 ..... Vegas in 1973. Just 20 years later those hotels would be The Mirage, MGM, Bellagio, Treasure Island, new Flamingo, Luxor and Paris. An unbelievable change in so little time.

The show is stuck in copyright limbo. There's still a massive legal dispute over who currently has the rights to the show.
The bottom line is they still have value for the owners. They make money from downloads and boxed sets.
I bet cops don't like this show; they wouldn't like to be compared to this kind of public server
