Great showcase of why Peter Hook is so amazing. But something rarely said about New Order songs is how good their melodies are, especially for dance songs with heavy electronic bass. No matter if the song is fast or slow, more poppish, more folkish, more rockish or even if Sumner sings well or not - the melody always carries extraordinarily well. This was always one of my faves.
New Order still rocks today especially songs like this, True Faith, Temptation, Sub-culture, Bizarre Love Triangle, etc. So many great hits to move to. What a time it was back in the 80s and 90s, there songs gives me so many memories! Keep rockin it steady, round and round.
I love the guitar solo in this song. Every time they perform it, it's a different improv. Every instance of this song is its own song and all are equally amazing.
Go see Peter Hook & The Light in concert. He plays entire Joy Division and New Ofder albums live. It’s cheaper than NO gigs too. I spend $25 to see him here in Brooklyn. Great great show

They played it a few times in 2012 and 13 but since then the only Technique tracks they’ve played are Vanishing Point, Fine Time, and very occasionally Dream Attack
Looks great but this was a shitty period for New Order. Republic was crap, the gigs were formula, and there'd be nothing but a shitstorm of remixes on the way.

the hooky bass line is more powerful here than it was on the album. Hooky is the new order sound.
