- A sweet-sounding Metrobus, being driven a bit aggressively, dashed around Wythall and Druids Heath, and passed the 70 km/h mark easily on an A-road returning to the museum. 2989 has been restored to WMT-era condition, with heritage livery of Wolverhampton Corporation, completed with some adverts and notices of the period.
Indeed this video is very similar to the one I filmed last year ( • (11/10/2015) Powerful ... ). Same bus, same driver, same route, same camera, but with different microphone settings. The gearbox of 2989 seemed to be less violent when shifting up though, comparing to last year.

This bus has the classic mcw mk2 idle loop so many TWM metros had later in their lives. Memories...
Superb! Long live Metrobus! That is how a bus should be driven. I remember some on the drivers in London never used to hang around in these.
Takes me right back 30 years hearing those screams and whistles of the WMPTE metrobus may have gone on that one new!

Is the metrobus engine Gardner or Cummins? Do anyone of you guys know?

What is the difference between Gardner and Cummins?
Gardner is British while Cummins is American. Gardner's are slower revving and better in fuel economy, but bulkier and less powerful.
Gardner engine with voith transmission.
Cummins is an American Company but the Engines are built in Darlington and Turbo’s in Huddersfield
