Love the E34s, I owned a 93 Calypso Rot M5 Touring with the 3.8ltr & 6spd when I was living in Gießen, it took me 5 min from my house on Rabenauer Str Wieseck to work at BK Große Linden via the Gießenerring and 265kph blasts. Such a great sleeper. I wish I had it here in Australia for cool value of just being a e34 wagon let alone a M5 variant as there's only 4 in the entire Continent.

Colour is superb ! I'd stick with the idea of keeping the stock looks, and just do some tweaks to the mechanical part like you've mentioned. The raw looks of an e34 m5 is just astonishing ;)
First of all, congrats on the car, you sir are an absolute legend! On the other hand, i kinda knew that it was going to be an E34 M5. You have teased it a couple of times on the channel together with Mr Robert Mitchell himself. The E30 M3 and the E34 M5 are my absolute BMW dream cars. I loved the E34 - I had an 525i manual and a 535i auto. The 525i was much nicer handling. Both were with beige interior and outside "Delfin" grey/green and both had BBS multispoke wheels. The cockpit is an absolute classic. I still like it better than some new cars.
The car was auctioned on Car & Classic here in the UK (Slough) In June 2023 don’t remember the price it went. Funny thing there was no mention of the sketchy history and the fact the car lived in Russia. It just said that it was owned by a TH-camr at one point. The owner who Was selling had money spent on it, so the car runs.
I'm sure your well versed on these cars but some of the e34 upgrades I know of. E31 lower spherical bushing control arms. Mooshhead or some other spherical upper control arms bushing. E31 subframe xbrace( good luck finding one). Rebuild rear control arms with stock m5 rtabs( best option). New clutches for the LSD. Ground control or some German equivalent high quality coilovers unless EDC is intact. Exhaust and recaros will save alot of weight too and make the car more enjoyable. These cars are very versatile. Excited to see how it goes. Also I know on my 540 my Power steering will boil over when pushing the car to the limit. A big power steering cooler is a good upgrade as well.

I used to own a Daytona Purple 3.8 and it was robbed from me, by people posing as being interested in buying it. Watching this, I can feel I'm not over that experience. Car ran out the gear box on the freeway. Absolutely insane..
E34 M5 owner here as well. Also in blue! Mine is Mauritius blue. Yours look like an Avus blue, but it’s hard to tell in camera. Can’t wait to see this being enjoyed on the ring. I remember Sabine said it was her favourite ring taxi.
@@NitroNuggetTV you’re right, my bad, i’ve seen mostly colors combinations that weren’t so contrasting, the bottom part was either same tone or darker. I’m not used to that one.

The way this car appeared in Russia I am almost sure it has been stolen at some point. But this makes it even more charming and attractive. The car is a pure legend.

One of the coolest things about this car is it's ability to perform impressively without sacrificing all creature comforts in the cabin. So I'm glad you're going to make it just a beast, not a track specific beast :) Can't wait for the project to unfold. What a great starting point.
Well, for those not burdened with the knowledge of the Russian sprache, i shall mention that the Gay village from which the car came is pronounced as "guy". Although i have no doubt that said village is fun to stay at.
