Ford Ranger's original 2.3 engine is bulletproof and you can't kill it. Even Toyota fanboy Scotty Kilmer says those Rangers are tough.

@@limoboy27 They're not terrible at all. My Focus 2013 Focus has the 2.0 duratec and I've had absolutely zero issues in over 3 years of driving it and 40k since getting it. Car has 83k and still great.

You should a random weird mix in the tank. Like lard, diesel, olive oil, ATF, engine oil, vodka, brake fluid, CVT fluid, Red Bull, brake cleaner, and vinegar or something. Then run that with NOS
There is something about rangers, I bought one for a winter beater 21k miles ago, this 2.3 has over 300k, burns tons of oil, spark knocks, transmission whines due to worn bearings, I’ve had a lower end noise for 20k, It is consistently overloaded. It just keeps on going for whatever reason.
I had a 94 with 204,000 hard miles. Traded it in for a F150 because we were having a child. Before I traded it, I tried some crazy stuff and it still ran like a top. Wish i still had it

6:06 I think when Mike heard you say “Danger Ranger”, he probably had a different idea of what you meant.
I had a 92 and 93 Ranger (92 w/4 cyl and 93 w/3.0 V6) and they were beasts. The 4 bang was weak, that's for sure, and the V6 was fair but what I miss most was the gas mileage of both of them and how I almost ripped them both in half doing stupid offroad stuff and they kept going. Only got rid of the 93 because I wanted bigger and an F150....fat bellies don't fit well behind the steering wheels. Now, I wish I had another one watching you, if nothing but just to drive locally or even do my own experiments (wife said no there). Keep it coming Mike.
I would like to see 4 different tires on it at once and see how it rides. I’m talking about a 15” wheel on one corner and a 13” on another just ridiculous looking.

Try mixing kerosene with acetone; 2 parts kerosene to 1 part acetone. Mix them together before fueling the vehicle first please, because, if undiluted kerosene enters the cylinders, it will foul the engine, if acetone enters the engine first, it will melt the gaskets & may begin an engine fire. Beware and good luck!

Love the Danger Ranger... I have a 94 Mazda B2300 with 235k miles. Same engine you have... probably same tranny but mine is 2WD.
About once every year or two it will crank but not start... I carry a mallet behind the seat to beat on the fuel tank and jar the fuel pump, then she starts like nothing happened.
Engine might take Nitrous and surprise you... same 2.3 litre is used for short dirt track racing... have heard of one outfit still building them (including casting new blocks)... search 2.3liter Ford I4 for more info.
Have to admit I will be alittle sad when you either kill the Danger Ranger or send her to the 'Yard.

Just sold my 2005 Ranger Extended Cab 4x4 automatic with the 4.0 6 cylinder with 101,000 miles on it. Was is mint condition and I loved they truck. Drove and ran great. Ford guy but ended up trading 2020 Ford Explorer Limited for a 2020 Silverado RST Black with Blackout package and did not need two trucks. Rangers are awesome.
You should make a compilation on how much abuse that truck has taken, and send it to Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear.
You should buy the best injector cleaner lucas oil have. Buy gallons of injector cleaner and just dump it in a quarter of a tank to see if it runs worse or better. They advertise that you can't over do it. (Orange big bottle)

I got the same truck I use it as a farm truck around my farm can’t kill it love that truck careful don’t destroy that truck they have a loyal following somebody might flip out
I miss my 93 2.3 ranger. I got a low mileage 97 it's only got 350000 miles but it's not the same. Seems like Ford realized it was too good so they changed rear diff ratio. Gutless my 93 had 800 thousand miles still roasted tires.

I bought a winter beater salvage title 03 xlt fx4 4.0 with 70k on it a few years ago for 2k not a rust bucket and I beat the snot out of it. Probably the best vehicle I've bought for that price.

You did leave it on you're not pressing down that button above the ignition, then it will be turned off all the way. Just press that button the ignition will turn off all the way.

Well you don't need a parking brake, you can just leave it with 1st gear in, the gearbox will hold the car too
fix it up if it survives again lol .. like new paintjob tires and such but keep the keyless start lol

If your parking brake doesn't work, you can leave it in 1st gear or reverse. It won't go anywhere unless it's absurdly steep.
Top Gear drove a 4runner into salt water at the beach, it was submerged ...after getting the water out it started.....then they picked it up with a crane and dropped it ... i think it was badly mangled .. but still started

As far as the red bull in the gas tank I know it would be a bad idea because of the sugar in energy drinks. You might as well put regular sugar in it lol.
Do the 65 mph first gear again, but this time put it in 4WD if it still works! Wont lock the rear tires up like last time and might actually do something to the engine

idea... "Will it Fit" where you strap down various super heavy loaded stuff (well beyond rated payload weight) in the bed and see if she'll drive, take a corner, emergency braking etc.
