My dad was driving a 93 ford ranger with about the same HP (also a 2.3l 4 cylinder) up until 2018 in Arizona with no air conditioning. That was almost 18 summers i spent riding in that truck with no AC lol and we moved here from California in it too. We still have it in our garage and I'm trying to talk him into getting it fixed up (its been sitting for nearly 6 years so its obviously gonna need some work. It needed some work before then even) rather than getting rid of it because it had always been a very reliable vehicle. The Ford Rangers were such great trucks. They need to make a comeback like the Ford Broncos did IMHO.

And the old mike is back. Great video, hoping to see more coming.
Pound for pound, that generation of ranger was the toughest truck on the planet. You couldnt kill them. I had two of them, one was totalled in a major accident when I got t-boned, the other was stolen and burnt. I really miss those trucks.
Wow, I really thought it something else was going to happen this time… Ideas: 1. Rebuild engine and do performance upgrades (turn it into a sleeper) - Turbocharger (as someone else mentioned) or Supercharger 2. Do a road trip for fun to see what happens (and get MPG ratings?)
Autovlog Great Video I think it's awesome that you put a 150 Shot of Nitrous in your 1994 Ford Ranger and I knew it wouldn't blow up because it's so reliable and I can't wait to see what your next plan is
Just found yer channel, seems fun.. Ive just acquired a 06 ranger...not my fave, but i got one...i think with the 150 shot youd get past that max out feeling with bigger injectors...or, just a teed off line to add manually when "under the influence"Ive played with small super chargers and more fuel while under boost is the key for them, and timing, but theranger has a knock sensor so maybe just more fuel. im your newest subscriber. thanks!!
Clean it up and give it to Sydney as her first vehicle. She should learn how to drive a manual anyways. Better yet, teach her how to drive a manual, that might blow it up. Lol
I had a Ford Taurus I bought for $500 with 200,000 mi on it. Spent $1,000 on it and traded it in 350,000 for a 2012 Challenger RT and got $500 for it. Good car.
The sad part is you never considered to give that truck some TLC,is been true hell end back and still runs,i would put that thing on the road ,engine overhal ,new paint, new wheels aso and you will have a fenomenal truck and you get to make a lot of content
Those little 4 cyl rangers would run forever . I had the main pulley literally come off and the truck made it 20 miles to my mechanic . Run hot but made it , got a new pulley and ran perfectly fine again
on the 150 shot, your motor is running too lean. That's why it's just sputtering when you are saying it's maxing it out. that's where it's just running too lean
@AutoVlog - Another awesome video! What happens when you add nitrous to a very low/small horsepower vehicle? Wow! Suggestion... is it possible to remove the rev limiter? Yea! Hahahahaha! O:-)
I had a 97 ranger . That truck could not be stopped. It ran dry , no oil , didn't know how long but never made weird noises . I finally checked one day and the dipstick wasn't wet . Odometer was exempt. Didn't know the true mileage. It just ran and ran . The engine far outlasted the body .
50 shot seemed like it was doing pretty good hundred shot probably would’ve been maxed out because when you hit it with 150 it seems like it almost bogs like it’s too much fuel but cool video!
160,000 miles??? For a 94'?? That's awesome!! I got a freaking 2011 Tundra with slightly over 300,000 miles.🤦♂️ 17 years younger with double the miles. Insane!
I have a 94 Ranger 4.0. The thermostat failed and I drove it 80 miles wirhout coolant. It was in the evening. I made it home. New thermostat and coolant good to go. I put 180K miles on it since then.
1994 not 1894. Its got fuel injection not a carb. That 2.3 weak spot is the timing belt and nylon gears. If you replace them before failure, you got the proverbial bullet proof engine. Transmission is a different story. Add turbos, add bigger injectors,
Those 80-90’s Ranger were tough little trucks. Weren’t fast or powerful but they ran forever. I had several of them and they just kept going and going. Tough little engines and trucks. I’m sure it’s still slow asf even with the 150 shot lol 😂
This is why I'm a ford guy through and through. never had a ford crap out on me. Only way I've lost a ford was being crushed by a tree. Gonna miss that 95 explorer, It was a piece of shit but it ran like a champ, everything that was wrong with it was comfort items not anything essential to running. It was my first car and I dont think i changed the oil on it one time (cause I was never really taught about that) but it lasted me a good few years with a lot of driving before a tree took its life over night. Also eventually, maybe for 1 mil you should do a subscriber giveaway of this truck lmao
You now need to test towing capability. With frame rust, it will likely pull apart, but that would be fun to see. Get a cheap trailer, add 1000 pounds at a time, and go. Even hit some nitrous while towing. Just make sure you do it somewhere that it can be left in pieces, because im sure the county wont be happy if on a well traveled road.
Nastyness Oxide requires that everything be right and can be very unforgiving if it ain't. It's not a simple "bolt-on" at that level and you're lucky it didn't all "go boom".
a coworker has a 94 ranger he bought new, it has 440k miles on it now. Needs a clutch finally, lol. He bought another truck (cant have too many, lol), a 2005 dakota with 290k on it and he keeps raving about how his "new" truck is so much better than the ranger. i asked him what made it better and he said "the radio works" 🤣🤣. I told him i'd fix his radio after he gets the clutch replaced and he's already talking about selling the dakota
what engine does that have? I know Rangers in the 90's came with the 3.0 Vulcan v6 which was also in the Taurus's. Those things you could not kill. The auto transmissions, just look at them wrong and they'd die.....but the engines...nearly indestructible.
They just don't make 'em like they used to! Interesting video idea though, Mike. So, the tally is now, Ford - 8, Mike - 0. Keep trying Mike. Sure makes for fun content!
Seems like it was running way rich or lean on the spay.Get a pressure gauge for the bottle and a heater nitrous will hurt performance if not set up perfect bottle pressure should be 950 to 1100 when in use if not in that range will run too rich or lean witch will have poor results and 150hp is alot for that stock fuel pump to support also may want to have a smaller plug gap to prevent spark blowout.
BIG Turbo! That's what you should add to the engine.
True the turbo version was as fast as a 5.0
Whipple supercharger
Or put a 5.0 engine from a mustang
Ja, turbo. 🤣
@@chrism869thats boring
'The brakes went out. They were fixed....kinda' LOL! That's classic Mike right there!!!
Some people: Ford = found on road dead
Danger Ranger: Nahhhhh
F*cked On Race Day
Found On Road Driving
Real saying is fix or repair daily 😂
Ford though
F*cked over rebuilt dodge lol
Sell everything and keep the ranger, *ranger is eternal*

right! i was thinking that too. him going on a road trip and see the mpg after the hell it’s been through 😂
You dont need engine rebbuild. just add a turbo and go nuts
Autovlog Great Video I think it's awesome that you put a 150 Shot of Nitrous in your 1994 Ford Ranger and I knew it wouldn't blow up because it's so reliable and I can't wait to see what your next plan is
The most reliable vehicle you have ever owned...keep it and cherish it 😊
So love what your doing with the danger ranger, keep going loving the vlogs Mike 👏 peace out brother 👊
Love your videos, glad to see you laughing. That little truck is awesome. Actually love that it never dies.
I just found this channel and loving it...the brake failure was classic.
Christine's soul lives in that Danger Ranger 😅 with a mix of Jason from Friday the 13th, she just never dies...lol 😅😅
Love it! And your cackle just makes it even more enjoyable haha!
Love the Danger Ranger saga!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
needs a turbo now
This is such great content. Love the ranger!!
I love this man lol best series I’ve seen on TH-cam

PLS DO A RESTORATION ON HER I FEEL SO BAD FOR HER AT THIS STAGE 😢
Built Ford tough, thats for sure. Btw was that a 150hp Dry shot???? If so you need to add more fuel somehow, it'll make tons more power.
I was thinking the same thing. It sounds like it's bogging badly from going so lean as soon as he hits the nitrous.
Just give it to WhistlinDiesel...he'll know what to do! 😅
he’s already fucked up a Ranger, no.
@@TonyWitThaTommyThat ranger he messed up was already worn out from the beginning, and it was a newer Ranger. The older ones are tough as nails.
@@Joshtheweatherman mine is too, plus his had the vulcan, downright the shittiest engine ford cursed the ranger with
@@TonyWitThaTommy Yeah those blew head gaskets and ate coolant like no tomorrow.
@@Joshtheweatherman the four cylinder may be underpowered but it’s the best imo

The head gaskets would be the weak link which is way better than hard parts.
That truck is straight from the pits of Hell! That was hilarious…and I’m digging that Mobb Deep tee shirt.
awesome as always
Those Ford f**king Rangers are indestructible.
Danger Ranger is a roach! It survives everything, especially the attempts to destroy it.
The amount of joy the Danger Ranger brings is almost more than any supercar 😂😂😅 Next video: Busted in the Danger Ranger 😅
Love the Danger Ranger. Guarantee the new ones are built that tough.
Love the Danger Ranger and experiments in it.

The Danger Ranger is a BEAST! She is the real VIP!
Mike: The breaks went out, now this vehicle is dangerous and I don't want to risk my life
Mike as well: LETS PUT NITROUS ON IT!
Great video!😸
Mike, you gotta put a turbo on that thing. That video will be bonkers. Do it!!!

Too much air. Too little fuel.

Ok this is epic!
Mike you got to put a 250 shot of nitrous now on it lol
I'm surprised that lasted this long cool video though
LOL!! Love the danger ranger videos!!
I have a 94 Ranger 4.0. The thermostat failed and I drove it 80 miles wirhout coolant. It was in the evening. I made it home. New thermostat and coolant good to go. I put 180K miles on it since then.
What happens if you drive a 94 ranger with no oil
I have a 1994 4.0 Automatic 2wd in the same color, it has 209k miles. The battery alone has lasted over 10 years now, no parasitic battery drain.
Next beat down on the Danger Ranger should involve off roading and lots of air. Let’s see how the ol’ girl does.
1994 not 1894. Its got fuel injection not a carb. That 2.3 weak spot is the timing belt and nylon gears. If you replace them before failure, you got the proverbial bullet proof engine. Transmission is a different story. Add turbos, add bigger injectors,
Non interference engine so the timing belt breaking isn't a huge deal
You look likr your having fun with a truck keep having fun
Omg it’s back 😂😂❤
I have a 2001 Ford Fucking Ranger it’s my daily with a 4.0 and except mpg I love it.
Now that's the Ranger the Ex should be driving

Would have been good transportation for someone. It didn't seem to do much but it was fun & many were asking for this.
Bring this to a show in Pittsburgh
You could also try this Nos gas in one of your other cars ?
Have you tried cleaning the mass airflow sensor? Or clean the intake Throttle Or advance the timing. Or checked Oxygen censor
Too much NOS on that 150 shot, it was bogging down. 100 shot is probably the sweet spot on fueling
That's when Things were Built Stronger
Sysdney ain't going to be around to come pick you up when it comes apart now Mike. Br careful

It ooks to me that a 100 shot will do best.
Make it a camper truck and spend a night or two in it somewhere not so remote. It will be fun.
Go maximum speed in 5th and turn in the 150 shot.
Danger Ranger LIVES!!!
I had a ‘98 Ranger that went over 400k miles before it was crashed
Yes BIG turbo and nos . Maybe ethanol fuil also
Its like forgotten mustard but in real life lola
Time to engine swap it, and build it into an ultimate off-roader!
Nastyness Oxide requires that everything be right and can be very unforgiving if it ain't. It's not a simple "bolt-on" at that level and you're lucky it didn't all "go boom".

Sounded like maybe it needed some more bottle pressure
We need some massive turbo
❤️the D R
You should team up with WD to see how much the truck can take.
Is the e g r deleted is The cat converters deleted
At this point FORD might as well hire him to promote their cars sales will go through is he isnt

Do muffler delete on the danger ranger I did muffler delete on my 2007 ford ranger 3.0v6
Big turbo next. It has to happen.
Supercharge it or turbocharge it that’s you next best option lol
You need a fresh bottle.. the pressure is low and it's getting to much fuel. That's why it's bogging down or hitting the "Rev limiter"
I think it’s time to make it the ultimate sleeper truck
correct me if I am wrong but the engine is a non-interference engine in the ford ranger. Probably why it can take a beating and still be good.
Turbo, if it stays alive, make a build
I think I had four of these in red, white & blue,my mechanic said they suck, idk I kept wrecking the darn things.
Keep testing it!
I'm glad you didn't blow her up, I think we've all become attached to the danger ranger 😂
Turbo and straight pipe like the old hooptie
This made my day! My Mazda3 even has more power than this thing 😂😂😂
Ah yes Mike is back with the danger ranger😂😂😂😂.
It's ridiculous, i have 3 cyl 1.0l turbocharged, now at 145HP and 250Nm of torque (ECU got tuned and the engine worx much more effective now)
Seems like it was running way rich or lean on the spay.Get a pressure gauge for the bottle and a heater nitrous will hurt performance if not set up perfect bottle pressure should be 950 to 1100 when in use if not in that range will run too rich or lean witch will have poor results and 150hp is alot for that stock fuel pump to support also may want to have a smaller plug gap to prevent spark blowout.
I mean, it was extremely lean. The ecu was not programmed to get that type of NOS
See if you can get it tuned and get what you can out of the stock engine
