8:25 Yeah, without speaking Finnish itself, basic conversation is still possible between Estonian and Finnish. It becomes easier if both speakers know which words dont exist in other's language or have even limited vocabulary. Both languages split mere thousand years or so a go. For us, learning Finnish isnt hard. There's no true mutual intelligibility but depending on context 40-60% gets through and rest you might guess or figure out. Basically, people in Estonia use either Estonian or Russian (Soviet era colonists) in their daily lives and English to interact with foreigners. Youth generally is able to speak English, older generation Russian, some speak all three (children from mixed families usually become native speakers of Russian and Estonian both). It seems to be quite easy to get by for UK or US expatriates.

The population *was* declining because the Soviet occupation ruined the Estonian economy and many occupation era illegal Russian immigrants returned to Russia. Now it's growing again.

Here some Estonian men have liderally 2 permanent GF (3way relationships), we do not have marrages. Liderally by law there is so called open marrage law basicly cohabitation kind of thing.
Why Estonian population is in decline? Simple. Whe have surprisingly high death rate (generally poor health, bad habits -- especially massive and unstoppable drinking -- pretty the same like in Russia) and poor birth rate. Estonians are very suicidal too one way or another. Quite a lot of estonians left the country 2009 -- 2016 and never returned. Immigration is minor.
Hotmail is not invented by estonians. Thats totally wrong. Skype was invented by a Danish firm which employed a bunch of Estonian programmers who did the main development.
Sad is that this video you are reacting to has bad mistakes, many factual, liderally 1 thing is that wrong that this guy can get him sued by the country.

personally, I would not understand anything if a Finnish person talked to me as an Estonian.
What happened, the war happened
Here some Estonian men have liderally 2 permanent GF (3way relationships), we do not have marrages.
Liderally by law there is so called open marrage law basicly cohabitation kind of thing.
Tere
Im estonian and i dont understand finnish language
Why Estonian population is in decline? Simple. Whe have surprisingly high death rate (generally poor health, bad habits -- especially massive and unstoppable drinking -- pretty the same like in Russia) and poor birth rate. Estonians are very suicidal too one way or another. Quite a lot of estonians left the country 2009 -- 2016 and never returned. Immigration is minor.
Hotmail is not invented by estonians. Thats totally wrong. Skype was invented by a Danish firm which employed a bunch of Estonian programmers who did the main development.
Sad is that this video you are reacting to has bad mistakes, many factual,
liderally 1 thing is that wrong that this guy can get him sued by the country.
Real bad ones were he's oppinnions on affiliationsof the country and one comment is basicly sacrilege here in 🇪🇪
