What he said, they’re even cooler in person, and cheap enough that you can justify picking up a box of something (I recommend Rus Infantry if it’s just going to be one box) just to have in your collection.
@ Really? That’s a shame. You should keep an eye on the Victrix site for deals, they do 25% off specials from time to time and worldwide shipping is shockingly reasonable - shipping from the UK to the US for the last 3 boxes I got from them cost $14 USD. I think I’ve spent more shipping from here to New York.
Cheers, their Normans are fantastic. I have a few blended into that larger group of 35 I show at the end. One of Victrix’s greatest strengths is how well their Dark Age figures blend together.
I’ve done this with the airbrush and a burst of cream colored paint for the highlight areas. Then a heavy wash. I like your bright spots to and points you add for extra highlights I am going to try that. I’ve found that new agrax isn’t as effective as the old formula using this style. Is army painter more similar to the old agrax formula? Great stuff and thanks!
Airbrush is a cool idea, and yes the zing of extra highlight from those little bright spots seems to do a lot at the tabletop level. Agree on Agrax’s formula, that’s why I have a kind of blend of various washes that I mix until I’m happy with how it looks. Army Painter has two wash products: dropper bottle acrylic washes that are similar to GW shades, and Army Painter Quickshade which is essentially rebranded wood stain - it can be confusing because they use the same names (ie, ‘Strong Tone’) in both product types. I like the end result of the Quickshade slightly more, but it’s a pain to use in small batches like this.
I haven’t tried myself, but I think they would work great, and I think they’d scale excellently with other LoTR figures (maybe a little tall, but the proportions are correct). The rest of Victrix’s range could also make fantastic figures for Rohan, Arnor, Lake Town, wild men for Isengard, etc.
Yeah I’m really happy with how it turned out, it’s actually going to be run for a faction in The Ninth Age called Asklanders which are basically a Chaos Marauder themed army.
This man is singlehandedly convincing me to go into Vitrix ngl
Once you go Victrix you never go back

Sadly the markup at my LGS is pretty steep for Victrix models. Moreso than for most other manufacturers.

They are really nice miniatures ive built 100s of them only thing that let's them down is the text build guides they are horrific.
Very impressive. I was sceptical about the white dot highlighting but the overall effect after the wash and varnish stages is very pleasing.
Yeah it looks kind of absurd until the very end, since the wash mellows out the extreme highlights and pigments the white slightly.
Also forgot to say good luck in the event 👍 you got this but most of all have fun bro 💪🔥🤘
Thanks brother, I don’t actually game very often these days so it’ll be nice to get out and roll some dice!
SUperb paint job, I do like the realism of the shields...Big like!
Thank you, I’ll be doing more quintessential Norse shield designs on my Huscarls video, but I think these look pretty sharp.
They came out looking great. I have some Victrix Normans on the go. they are the first Victrix models I have worked with, and I think they are great.

Looks cool.
Thanks for the comment!

have you looked at using these in Middle EArth Battles? seem very similar to the warriors of minas tirith. Just curious
