What I have found effective is that you can put a large piece of foil in the paper money pocket of your wallet and it effectively surrounds all you cards in a foil taco when it is closed.
Exactly! That was my comment exactly. What fool would put the foil in front of the card? Of course you’d have it behind the card. Even if you put foil in the cash part of the wallet there is no way the scanner would get through it to scan the card.
Nice test on the foil. If someone has a limited budget ,That would get them by. I'm impressed by the Vault Card. I Don't know if some passports have RFID chips in them. But one Vault card in a passport case would stop a reader. Thank you for testing these things.
Hmm... I'd have to think about that. Warm-blooded creatures are of course sources of IR radiation, so you'd have to envelope yourself to prevent that release from being seen. It'd be like trying to hide a flashlight that's always turned on. You'd need to cover yourself in something that prevented the IR energy from being seen. I've seen posts of covering yourself in a space blanket, and I suppose that might work (sort of), but I think it would be difficult. It's my understanding that glass won't pass themal IR, so a large glass shield (I know, not practical) would in theory do the trick. Sorry, I don't have a better answer.
Newer combat clothing is coming out that blocks a lot of IR but your exposed body parts remain an issue. I have a better idea why dont you set off an EMP to stop you from being watched
Hey Doc,please help! I stack 3 RFID cards in my office ID card holder to scan through three different gates every day, they are interacting with each other and not working, how to fix this?
Can you reproduce similar results of the Vaultcard by stacking multiple sheets of aluminum essentially making it thicker? Would the increased mass make a difference or increase the effectiveness?
Fold the foil into the shape of a dollar bill and place it in the wallet like a bill. In a trifold wallet. When you close the wallet, it incases the cards in the wallet..?

I am wanting to make a purse with a protective layer to keep my phone and cards from being read. Do you have any suggestions on what type of liner to use to go in between my fabrics? Aluminum foil, silver lined fabric, etc........?
Assuming you have a smartphone, you really don't have to worry about it being read. The security in the phones is quite sophisticated. Blocking the EMF from the phone is a different problem, however, and one that I plan to address in the next few weeks. As for protecting the credit cards, you could simply keep a VAULTCARD with your other cards (see disasterpreparer.com/?product=vaultcard). You can also purchase an RFID wallet. They also sell RFID purses, but they might not be to your liking. If you choose to make a purse yourself, you'd want to find a conductive cloth to put between the layers. I sell a cloth that would work well (see disasterpreparer.com/?product=emp-cloth), but there are many other conductive cloths on the market.
