Ahh the video u were talking about making in sub 12 ftpound Just a dream coming true for me Extremely excited for the upcoming tests of the hunting pellets and probably the 177 slug (which I am dieing to see the result)

Hi m8 Can you share your paper target so I can print it out, The one with diffrent hammerwheel settings? Thanks 😊
Thanks for another interesting test I use a Tx200hc and looking at your pcp results I've brought some H&N to try as against my usual AA Diablos. Testing here we come
Gurt I’ve been watching your videos now for a couple of years and many others from just about everyone else . Just wanted to let you know that in my eyes 👀 you are the top dog in the kennel. Very informative,to the point facts and no BS. I always look forward to seeing each new video that you put out. I am shore that I’m not the only one . Just felt that I had to let you know.Keep up the good work brother. 😉👍
With the Barracuda match. Head size can matter. They make different sizes for different barrel chokes. Aslo my rifle had to shoot 10, or 20 before accuracy was achieved. Then its hole on hole.
Thanks Keith, I have all 3 head sizes and will be doing a video on that, my one gun is very pellet fussy. I used the 4.5mm in the video and my one hw100 hated them, it did however love the 4.52. Thanks for the nice reply, you are 100% correct. I do lots of batch testing for my competition pellets, head size and batch number.
Similar results to my experience with those pellets in my FX and Air Arms. The hunting style ones have been less consistent for me, can't wait to see the results for the 13grn slugs, not seen them in the UK yet.
John, I've found that with less power (sub-12) and/or closer ranges, there's no apparent difference in performance on small prey. Where it shows up is 50+ yards with higher power (FAC) guns. This is where hollow point and slug rounds will out-perform on medium and large size game.
@@donpeer4477 Don, This was why I was keen to see how Gert got on with the 13grn slugs, opinion lead me to think they fly true over distance, but would they be suitable at sub 12ft/lb?, results from the three guns on test were a disappointment. I have one FAC airgun (in .22) but it only has 29ft/lbs so would only push the lightest slug of that calibre - about 21grn - to about 800fps or less, probably insufficient velocity from what I've heard.
In my tests, the green lead free pellets come out much faster in springers break barrel rifles!. Because strangely in low-power PCPs it comes out less quickly, seeing the same!
Very well done, I REALLY enjoyed this! Interesting about the HW-100's, the first gun is obviously less pellet picky. The Air Arms 500 looks like a great shooter too! I too have gone through many types of pellets and found that the JSB-Heavies at 10.34gr are absolutely the very best for my airgun in (4.5). Coming in second the 8.44's and strangely enough the express 7.87gr as well! Out of all my expensive airguns, my go to rifle (believe it or not) is a pimped up, tuned S200AA. AND oddly enough it's a third of the price of the others! But I must also say that the trigger polishing, port work, larger bolt, larger Altaros 1.5 air cylinder with gauge, quick fill and internal regulator does make it even more special! And this beauty is dressed with a Element Optics Helix 6-24x50 scope, the finishing touch:-) Scary accurate! Look forward to seeing how the others so in your guns, I've personally tried them but not-a-one did well in mine :(
I find your results on these tests rather interesting and look forward to the hunter type pellet test. But here's a thought for another test. Using the QYS Domed (8.48 grain), QYS Streamlined (8.48 grain) and the Air Arms Diablo Field (8.4 grain). You will notice the weight of those pellets are more or less equal but the difference in both the QYS pellets is that the QYS Streamline is slightly more pointed. Now, will this be more stable than the other 2 types? I have the BSA R10se in .177 (sub 12lb) and my gun likes all 3 but prefers the QYS Domed pellet, for some reason, give me tighter groups at 30 metres than the Streamlined. Just a thought for a test (and an excuse for you to throw lead at paper). Subscribed.
Nice video always good info love watching groups. Sence your talking gr weights, maybe a video on appropriate weights for power settings. JSB calls .177 10.xgr pellets heavy so I never shot heavier weights thinking my talon ss was too small but! It loves 14gr slugs, now I'm confused about what I should consider heavy. Or I'm just chasing a slug/pellet to barrel orientations. If it was easy it wouldn't be fun. Thanks
Wow can I say I got rid of all my pre charged rifles I've had every make model etc in my 30 yrs shooting the most accurate was my BSA scorpion se tac driver. I have just bought a new hw35e in 177 and it is way more accurate than those hw100s and air arms etc. And at a 3rd of the price.
You said at the beginning that you wanted to choose the best group from each gun, compared to the others. Why did you pick the Field Target Trophy as the winner? The best rifle, across all pellets, appears to be the Air Arms and the best group it shot was a 9.3 mm group with the Baracuda Greens. The best you got with the HW 100 #1 shooting FTT pellets was 9.6 mm. Just wondering.
Good question, my decision was based on the pellet that shot the best groupings out of al the guns, not just the single best grouping. I as looking for overall performance. I am busy with another video looking a the different head sizes and which one is best out of which gun.
@@AimSmall You said that were going to look at head sizes. Slugging a barrel is the act of manually pushing a pellet (or slug) through a barrel and measuring the effect it has on the pellet and, of course, which pellet size will be best in that barrel.
@@donpeer4477 Thanks for explaining that to me, I have never done that, not has any of my fellow competition shooters, will find out from the bench rest chaps if they make use of this.
They are much harder than lead. And because they're so light most barrels tend to have too high a rate of twist for them as well. Ideal for those would be one of those polygon rifled barrels with a low rate of twist. With an appropriate barrel it's easy enough to push them to 270m/s, takes maybe 24 Joules or so. For me they're good for indoor ranges, because of how flat the trajectory is. And backyard pest control, because I don't want lead pollution in my market garden. I don't use them for backyard plinking, because they're just too affected by wind to make for nice groups even at a mere 20 metres. The side effect of them being made from a much harder alloy is that they penetrate much better than lead pellets. Like they hardly deform being shot into a steel trap at 20m at 7.5J, for comparison a Field Target Trophy pellet from the same rifle will utterly pancake shooting that same trap. Also there's the downside of overpenetration when shooting small pests. They will punch through a mouse, rat or pigeon, which is something to be kept in mind for sure.
What's the reason I think they are a great pellet my gun puts pellet through pellet and my gun is just a cheap f4 crossman breakbarell RATS don't seam to like em though
Channels like this are undervalued.
Thank you for this, I use barracuda match due to availability. Does the job
Excellent comparison. Setting the benchmark for others to take note of.
Awesome, long overdue by someone. As I have a sub 12 TDR, this is very interesting

The best pallet is H&N barracuda 10.65grm

I found sweet velocity for H&N Baracuda FT's is 730fps.

Loving your testing as it is totally relevant to me using a sub 12ft/lb rifle! Thanks for the videos mate! Subscribed!!👍👍
HW #2 certainly does shoot differently from #1, is the barrel much newer and needs breaking in?

What good is a hunting pellet comparison without penetration and expansion ?

Can anybody tell me what became of Sniper Lights ???
They expect us to use those light alloys in our rifles. They expect us to still be able to control pests, with those. There is no way.
Baie interesant - dankie!
9.57g is an interesting new weight for H&N looks like they are copying the Chinese QYS whig are that weight simi pointed and phenomenally accurate
