The Lions D has looked pretty good so far this year. Shutouts don't happen very often in the CFL. Here comes the real test, the Blue Bombers. Hopefully the Lions defence can step up. The Bombers have been racking up the points so far.

As frustrating as the Lions' offence was in the first half, I don't think it was their fault. It was a combination of two major factors. The Elks defence used coverage they weren't expecting them to use and it took time to adjust. And, more importantly, there were so many delays and so much waiting for the refs that they couldn't get into a proper flow. They looked much better near the end of the first half and in the second half when they were able to adjust to the defence and actually get into a rhythm.
Both defences played fairly well. Neither offensive team has much to be proud of in this game. But obviously, the Lions played better. They'll all have to do better. So will the refs. This game had quite a few poor reffing calls (or not at all, given the play they didn't even blow the whistle...)

Last time Edmonton was shut out was 1976..... this franchise is so embarrassing to the depths they have fallen, maybe the lowest point in its history, even lower than the 1960's when I started as a fan. Only two games into this season, already contemplating removing the paper-bag over my head and throwing it into the trash and finding something better to do with my time than watching this travesty of a football organization stumble and bumble its way to obscurity and unimportance in the local sports scene.
With an absolutely gigantic field.... as the respectable dimensions for NFL vs CFL is 120 yards x 53 yards vs 150 yards x 65 yards (yes, this includes the endzones 10 yards deep in NFL vs 20 yards deep in CFL). How is the CFL only seems to use the center of the field, so many times I am watching and I seldomly see passes or runs to each side of the field or for that matter the back of the endzone never seems to be used. Why? QB arms not strong enough, RB's not fast enough to get around the tackles, WR's can't run that far? If a coach was able to do this with their team wouldn't the CFL be more exciting? Just curious, not judging, just from my few exposures to the CFL. PLease help me understand. Thank you.

The coach has an abysmal record despite controlling all aspects of the team including recruitment. The QB apologizes for his performance after every game. And the City runs the stadium incompetently and, if not running out of hot dogs before halftime, will sell a $12 hotdog with only a packet of ketchup/relish/mustard for dressing. Finally, if you take public transit to the game, you and your children can watch addicts take drugs outside the LRT stations. Honestly, it’s a credit to the players that it was not 222 - 0.

Too bad in my opinion BC made a silly mistake in the 3rd quarter by trying a long FG. It missed and was returned for no score. A punt into the endzone would have been a better idea as the returner might have taken a knee or so, giving up 1 point even if for better field on the next play. That all being said, as it's been with the 2 other games this week (maybe Week 1 games too), it's pointless as BC wins. So it's my opinion to say, get it off my chest, and that's it.
