Nice work, thing is my Surly Ghost grappler has like half /internal external design, seat tube is internal and then at the bottom of it a little opening for outside routing all the way up under the bottom tube to the steer. I wonder if can/should order and use the internal system which I would prefer... The housing on the video looks too big for outside the tube fitting. I was thinking using jagwire housing and mtb brake cable...
All housing should fit into those ports, I only included the surrounding foam to insulate the housing from rattling and making noise. I'd just go with some housing and a regular shifter cable, since thats what 99% of internal droppers use. The brake cable end would be too big for the linking bit.
It all depends on the seat tube max/min insertion. All bikes have a different insertion limit so the dropper may vary on position. The best thing I can recommend is to measure the length of a fully extended coast, and see how it would fit, or proportion it with a regular seat post. aside from that It should work just fine. (PS, make sure to check if your bike has Internal or external routing for droppers)
Nice dude- good quick video with no fluff and extra talking. You’re a good mechanic too
Thank you! Trying my best everyday ;)
probably the best and most simple video on this topic on TH-cam. gave me the confidence to install myself. thank you and nicely done 🙌👏

I've been considering one. I just need a plan on how to route the cable on my folding step through ebike.
I would try using the parktool cable routing kit, or you can make your own using a shifter wire and magnets with super glue.
The coast has a max of 120mm. I am 5'10" and ride a medium GT hardtail MTB 29er. Will this work for me?
