I am very sorry for the length of this, but there are 4 very different, yet sweet, charming and thoughtful ladies to speak on. These ladies debuted in 2016. They are with YG Entertainment. Each signed on as trainees( much like MGM and such companies of the Golden age of Hollywood with stars) in their mid teens, leaving behind families in a few different countries to learn how to be a proper pop idol. It is a very intense full time, strict pop star academy, that each had to qualify to be able to attend. Jennie(the absolute stunner on the tank) is a main rapper, born in South Korea, but studied abroad in New Zealand, speaks fluent English, Korean, and basic Japanese. She is also the Chanel ambassador and affectionately and lovingly called the " Human Chanel", hence her line in Shut It Down about not buying dresses, simply requesting it. Next up in the song was our lovely Lalisa ( Lisa or Lili if you ever stop in and watch her dance videos). Lisa is a rapper as well as THE main dancer and vocalist. She is the group's wild child in the best possible way, born in Thailand, she was the first non-ethnically Korean to have signed with YG, and received a good deal of hate. She spoke only Thai and English when she started training and no one was allowed to speak anything but Korean to her til she learned the language. She now speaks Thai, English and Korean fluently along with basic Japanese and Chinese. She just received a MTV music award for she solo single Lalisa in 2021- which also landed her in the world records book twice. And the b side track Money. She has an infectious smile and that ever vibrant lust for life, her BlackPink girls, their Blinks( fans)and everything retro hip-hop. Next up in the song was Jisoo ( pronounced G Sue). Born in South Korea, she speaks fluent Korean, Chinese and Japanese and learning English( we LOVE to hear her spoke English with her beautiful Smokey voice, but she is so bashful about it!) Jisoo is the Main vocalist and their main visualist( you can see her in several Korean TV series including Snowdrop in 2021-2022, that was available on Disney+). She has one of the most stunning voices. Last- but never ever the least, you have Rose'(like the beautiful wine, but you may hear her friends and family call her Rosey). Born in New Zealand but raised in Australia, she can be easily spotted with blonde hair these days. She is also the main singer and dancer. You can tell her heartbreaking voice at any point in their songs, as she has a one of a kind tone. Her solo songs are R and One The Ground. She has that ' beautiful girl next door' calm about her that keeps you wanting more. BlackPink as a whole have several platinum songs parked at 1 billion plus views on TH-cam and sit rested nicely at 81million and some change subscribers. Definitely worth the listen. How You Like That, Kill This Love, DDU DU DDU DU, Boombayah, Whistle. You will have many others to give you suggestion. Sorry for the length.

They debuted in Aug. of 2016 with their first single "Whistle". Blackpink's 2019-2020 album was noticed worldwide. How You Like That, is most likely the Video with over 1b.

they're currently the biggest girl group in the world according to the likes of rolling stones, the recording academy, billboard and so on. they do sing mainly in korean and english altough they sometimes rerecord their song in japanese for when they hold concerts there (in the japanese versions they usually rap fully in english). there are four members, Jisoo Jennie Rose and Lisa in order of age. Jisoo was born and raised in south korea, Jennie was born in SK but spent her childhood studying in new zealand, Rose was born in NZ but grew up in australia and Lisa is from thailand, which explains why they use much more english than kpop groups usually do, they do have plenty of fully english songs. they debuted in 2016 under YG entertainment. if you don't know kpop at all, companies usually audition aspiring trainees, train them for years and years and then choose some of them to debut as soloist or under a group. Lisa beat 4000 people at the audition in thailand to become a trainee and then trained almost 6 years, Rose beat 700 people in australia and trained 4 years, jisoo and Jennie auditioned in SK, Jennie trained almost 7 years and Jisoo also almost 6. Must don't know about these amazing women because they don't listen to "foriegn music" as someone once told me. second There are many other groups out there. Blackpink is the top female group. Other female groups are Twice, Aespa, Everglow, Dreamcatcher. (Girls Generation, 4minute, 2NE1, Miss A, Red Velvet are older female groups some disbanned) But the top male group is BTS(debut in 2013). Other good groups are Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, Enhypen, Ateez, NCT (has the most members but they are sub-units), Pentagon, (Older groups are EXO, Big Bang, GOT7, Super Junior, 2PM, MBLAQ most have disbanned) Last, unlike most other groups around the world, Kpop groups normally last 7 years(Aerosmith). Either by the members or the company a new contract is not signed. The members usally go solo, enter another field of entertainment (producing, tv shows or acting), or returning to normal life. its rare that any make it past 7(BTS). But if anyone knows of one, other than BTS, please let me know
