    Something I wonder about Musashi a lot is how he was like as a person in non-combative situations. Like, how did he treat peasants? Was he callous towards them like many samurai were reported to be? Or was he more pleasant or at least left them alone? How did he earn provisions as he travelled as a ronin (some were reported to be bandits, others as legal mercenaries)?
    I know he may not be the modern image of what we see as an ideal hero and that societies in ancient times held very different views to ours but I like to know about how certain individuals may stand out.

      Forgive me if what I asked was a dumb question. I tried looking up on how miyamoto handled commoners but no result addressed my question.

    • @MythicalCrypto
      @MythicalCrypto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is a great question. I couldn’t find easy answers but Musashi would of followed the Bushido code of ethics which means he was going to protect the farmers, merchants and fight for their good. I didn’t come across any specific accounts though. I feel he would of been a protector for those who couldn’t defend themselves and uphold his code of honor.

    • @cadethumann8605
      @cadethumann8605 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MythicalCrypto I'd like to think that he did. But one thing we need to remember is that bushido wasn't fully codified until the later centuries of samurai. It wasn't around in the beginning. Now, there may have been some rules or codes for warriors to follow but they weren't always consistent through history and that there were samurai who looked down upon those of lower caste.

      @@MythicalCrypto Another question I have is one particular painting (don't know the proper Japanese term) depicting musashi. One website stated that this was him saving a lady from an assailant but I can't find that website nor can i find other sites that explain what was going on. Do you know what was happening in said painting?

      He was. But some records are vague, conflicting each other, questionable or fictional. His life tales have been romanticized so much in the plays, novels, TV shows & movies and so on.

    Nah I don't think that's right I think that he means by don't let your soul influence your body is to not let your soul take over you and act behalf of you and to let your body influence your soul is the state is the warrior in combat that influence his decisions and make him hesitate or haste or freeze at the end he's an warrior and war is art it self you got to see all of it sides it is best to moderate

      Lol come on man, I’m sure some of the stories about him are indulging a bit but if stories of him have lasted through hundreds of years then I’m sure he was exactly what history says he was. He secluded himself for years and did nothing but trained in the mountains . He became an excellent swordsman no doubt about it. But I’m sure he had natural talent that he was born with . Most likely he would have been extremely fast is why he would of defeated everyone he fought . Through years of training .
