I loved the movie. In addition to fate, there was the theme of family running through the movie too. I also really liked that there were no 'good guys'. The closest we get is ladybug, because he tries not to kill, but even he is doing shady stuff. The movie felt like a cross between kill Bill and knives out to me. Honestly I went because I really wanted to see Brad Pitt punch a Japanese mascot so I was happy. I would recommend everyone watch it once, though some people would be fine watching it on streaming
I saw it last night and didn't really know what it was about and had no expectations. I ended up really enjoying the movie the whole way through and thought a lot of was funny. I do agree that it was very confusing at points, but overall I think the payoff at the end was worth it.
I have some answers to some of your questions. It’s a lot to type but hopefully it’s able to help. SPOILERS AHEAD. I think you have it right. The Prince knew that the kid’s dad would seek revenge and go try to find her on the train and was either gonna use him to shoot the White Death with the exploding gun and if that backfired, to then rig the briefcase to explode and still kill the White Death. Then The Hornet stuff. This is never really covered but I believe since she uses the Boomslang snake venom to kill her targets, she stole the snake and it got loose just as another kind of obstacle. I believe The Elder didn’t know the White Death was involved until he showed up to the train looking for his son and in the end just knew that fate had brought him to finally face The White Death after what he had done to his boss and his wife. Finally, The White Death put all of the assassins on board the train not because they were threats to him, but they all had a hand in the death of his wife. The Prince and Kimura he had no idea would be there. The Wolf showed up out of the blue to find The Hornet so he had no idea about him as well. He hired The Hornet to kill his son because he was the reason his wife got in the car that night, but The Hornet also killed the surgeon that was going to save his wife so he wanted her to die as well. He hired Tangerine and Lemon because they were killing his crew in Bolivia which made him leave to deal with the situation and not be there to keep his wife safe and he hired Brad Pitt because he thought he was the guy Carver played by Ryan Reynolds who killed his wife, but Brad Pitt fills in for him and is not involved with any of this, just is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sorry this was so much. Hopefully it helps your enjoyment or understanding of the movie! Really enjoy your videos!
Good summary. I would add Brad Pitt was not an assassin he was a courier. The carver was an assassin but the job he was hired for was to get the briefcase which is why ladybug ended up with the job. I think the kid getting pushed off the roof was pretty weak motivation, but there is a strong theme of family running throughout the movie.
What you said about the film being overwhelming in the first two acts,I felt that,I enjoyed the film but it does have moments that the pacing is off and some jokes are dry but overall had a good time,especially that third act 👍🏼
