I so hate that people are realising this just now. She has been phenomenal in Wolf of the Wall Street too, in such limited screen time and character space to perform. But I'm glad she got her due even if it's late👏
I agree she should've been noticed, but you can't deny Margot and Leo stole the show. Yes Cristin was amazing in that movie, but the screen time and plot focused so much more on other characters, it was nearly impossible for her to stand out. I'm just saying it's hard to blame people for not realizing with this movie. But now I'm with you and I'm glad for her!
I really just came to her with The Penguin. But then I looked back and realized Ive loved so much of her work for years and years. She about to blow up and i think that’s great. Well deserved.
I adore Cristin Milioti, she really made the role of Tracy, AKA, The Mother, her own, living up to so much hype and excitement. I wish that they'd introduced her earlier, so that we could see more of Tracy and Ted's relationship.
i fully agree. so much expectations for her character. a series building up 8 seasons towards her. and she was by far the best thing in season 9. she blew it out of the water
This. As bad as the finale was, I have a soft spot for season 9 thanks to her. The way she managed to make the Mother to live up to 8 years of hype was one hell of an achievement.
Not just cancelled but *ejected* off of HBO/MAX whatever. Along with Westworld and Raised By Wolves and The Nevers. It’s impossible to find, you can’t even buy it because they used it as a tax write off. You’re lucky to catch it on a freemium service where they’ll show it all out of order and you can’t watch it on demand and it’ll be shown during the week and workday hours. Infuriating what David Zaslav has done to HBO.
As someone who makes video essays myself, I love that you always focus on the creatives and talk about what they've done throughout their careers. Feels very comprehensive to me.
Love this video. What a fantastic, in-depth look into the captivating talent of Cristin Milioti. Have always been a fan of hers since HIMYM, and would love to see one of her rare musical live shows that she’s does.
@ superhero comics characters never die then. They never permanently kill characters like Batman, penguin et el. Her character has never been killed off in the comics. These characters live forever , Batman, superman, plus all villains like joker never die! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@hanniffydinn6019 Superman "died" in the comics. Flash (Barry Allen) was dead in the comics for more than 20 years. Even Wolverine with his healing factor died at some point. But generally I agree with you. But do you remember Zod in MOS?
I see her on the same level as Aubrey Plaza. Both of them capture my eyes whenever I see them, and it's not just their beauty. Hilarious but dark and delicate.
She’s one of those actresses I’ve been rooting for ever since how I met your mother. People were so upset about the ending of that show. I think that was amplified because of how good of a job she did and how well the show stuck the landing with the mother when they revealed her. She really did deserve more screen time and story to work with that final season. There’s an Indie romantic comedy she’s in called it had to be you with my favorite comedian, Dan Soder. That I was surprised existed as well.lol.
Aubrey Plaza, Margaret Qualley, Cristin Milioti... I'm sensing a theme here... 😂 Kinda hoping Aya Cash is next or something. So happy you mentioned Made for Love (rip culled in the zazslav massacre), and The Resort (a Peacock original, which was also one of my absolute favorite shows of the past few years... Never thought I'd be saying that sentence), just a wonderful bit of magical realism. Oh, and go watch the rest of Mythic Quest. It is so goddamn good.
It's insane how I never knew her until Palm Springs (and many more never knew her until The Penguin), and then you look at her body of work and she was on the last season of the greatest TV show of all time, Tony nominated and Grammy winning on Broadway, in a Scorsese film, on Adult Swim, in Fargo, some of the best episodes of HIMYM AND Modern Love AND Mythic Quest AND Black Mirror AND 30 Rock... Like MAN I'm in awe of her career, versatility, and her character-actor-esque anonymity. Like I literally just learned she was in Nurse Jackie and I was obsessed with that show...
You making this video, has made me realize how much I love her acting. After watching Palm springs, I was very intrigued with her career but never decided to dive into it I definitely will after this. This video has also made me realize that she would have been a great casting choice for the Netflix show Russian Doll. Even though I think Natasha Lyonne filled that role perfectly, Cristin would have been a great option.
I had seen her in a few one off things here and there and her season on Fargo but then when I watched her bottle episode of Mythic Quest I absolutely fell in love. I had to go look her up and watch her back catalogue. Such an incredibly talented actress. I went into The Penguin for Colin Farrell, and he has done an amazing job with the role, but she owns the show and I am fine with that. She has given us one of the best Batman villain performances ever.
I love her work. She caught my eye in her role as Sofia Falcone. While I was traveling from New York to Los Angeles, watching television, I just happened to see the same episode of her in both cities. At first, I only saw her as a prisoner in Arkham and the treatment she went through. I felt sorry for her and how she was railroaded in being blamed as the "Hang Man". When the word Arkham was mentioned, I realized this was the new series The Penguin. In my opinion, she's defiantly one of the best Actors currently. I hope they don't kill her character off in the Penguin. She's a "Bad Ass".
answering the question at end of video dude, i finished himym after 3 weeks of watching and not a day later i started my rewatch and im on day 3 season 6 all because how hooked i was with tracys character even though it was like 20 minutes of screen time in season 9, its just such a good show and character that i started watching it again a day later
I honeslty didnt know this was the same person from palm springs until i was so impressed with her performance in the penguin i looked up her IMDB after the second episode to see what she has been in
That mythic episode really was something else, as a stand alone episode, I recommend it to everyone. Both Jake Johnson and Cristin are incredible and deliver an amazing story
I noticed one show that hasn't gotten little to no attention called Hit Monkey, where she did a role in the second season, which was surprisingly great. I enjoyed her character and to see her as Sofia was wonderful. Just wonderful at what she does
I know her from How I Met Your Mother. If you haven't seen Made for Love (HBOMax 2021-2022) you should give it a try!!! She's the main character and she does a great job in the show. :D
Wow. I had not heard of Cristin Milioti until a friend mentioned Penguin earlier today, and how amazing she was. He said she had an Italian name. And I came across this video. What a great job you did, very entertaining. Now I wanna see all her stuff. Guess I gotta start with a subscription to Max. Oy.
First noticed her on Fargo and was happy whenever she crossed my path since. I think Palm Springs is the best comedy movie of the last 10, 15 years and now The Penguin, my god, she is amazing. Love her.
I had no idea. I had only seen her in a few things but I am now downloading a ton of stuff and will start by her one off TV appearances and move to films if I enjoy those. Thanks
I have been a Stan since How I met your Mother! Which means I watched short lived follow up show A to Z. I was very locked in. I am so glad she is getting her flowers now, I am a little bit miffed that the public wasn’t locked in like I was after her role on HIMYM. Also miffed y’all didn’t realized this while she was doing Made for Love. But better late than never! I just want my girl booked down because she brilliant!! And I need to see her in more things.
Yes I became a big fan of hers after watching Palm Springs! I loved her in Made for Love and The Resort. I couldn't get enough of her so I tried to watch everything she was in. Right now alot of the stuff she was in like Made for Love and Year of the Carnivore is hard to find to stream. When I saw a commercial this past month with her in the Penguin I freaked out! I knew she was going to blow up! Love me some Cristin Milioti
I like rewatching tbe mythic quest episode to see her fixing her hair out of focus to approach doc again. And to watch the light die in jake johnsons eyes a minute later
You didn’t mention she was in David Bowie’s musical Lazarus on Broadway. On the Lazarus soundtrack album, she does incredible renditions of “Changes” and “Always Crashing in the Same Car”
I loved Cristin so much in Palm Springs and HYMIM and have been a big fan ever since. I'm still angry about the cancelation of Made for Love, it was really good! The Resort is also great, wouldn't mind to see another season. Read some good things about an indie romantic comedy called It Had to Be You she did in 2015. Still haven't got to seeing it. Great video man! First Aubrey Plaza, now Cristin.. keep e'm coming! 😁🔥🔥
It's unusual for a female actor to reach new heights in her career at the age of 39, and it's nice to see. She's long since hit "successful female character actor" level and so will be able to have a solid career for as long as she wants.
Cristin Milioti in the Penguin she so marvelous in the role it such human performance and actor who i look up to is Jacob elordi timothee chalamet Austin Butler river phoenix Harris Dickinson Paul Mescal i like how they get in character and how they understand character they don't judge them and they are favorite actor
Yeah, shes spectacular. Simple as that. Sarah Silverman mixed with Aubrey Plaza. And dude. Watch Mythic Quest. Come on! Get with it. lulz And The Resort. I loved it. It was a Sam Esmail production. I forgot about it. I have a feeling it was canceled since its been so long I forgot about it.

Cristin is so talented, she truly deserves an emmy
She was a star in Black Mirror. Never seen her in anything else and didn’t realise how extensively consistently good she is
She’s the one actor I’ve been rooting for the most. I was devastated when Made for Love was cancelled.

her portrayal of Sofia GOT ME TOGETHER, so freaking talented
As someone who makes video essays myself, I love that you always focus on the creatives and talk about what they've done throughout their careers. Feels very comprehensive to me.
There's got to be some way Cristin could pair up with Ella Purnell and Rosa Salazar as a big eyed dark haired power trio.
I’d also love to see her work with Aubrey Plaza and Amber Midthunder.
When your exposure and audience grows to match the quality and caliber of your content, you're going to be a big deal.
I am obsessed with her as an actress. She's just so good and so underrated.
Amazing saw Penguin and am hooked
Kinda weird being obsessed with someone who doesn't know you exist
