That means you did not use the plastic elements locking the end slats in place. If those are used it's impossible for them to fall even with 2 persons in same bed.
Yes, you are right, they are wooden. I was thinking about MALM bet. That has plastic ones. But it does not make sense. I can't make mine fall even if I try. Did you put the slats with the curvature facing down by mistake?

Initially I wan surprised by how small and light the package was, but after I assembled it, it's quite sturdy.

Wood slat look very wobbly… is it safe to use for 70kg ?
I use it at 80+ without any issues, so no worries.
