Well for £60 it's a miracle but it still looks flimsy to me! You did a good job improving the finish - I don't know how you can bear not having a workshop (belt sander on the carpet...) Thanks for posting, an enjoyable view.
Thanks for watching, Steve. I do struggle without a workshop... I sometimes create jobs like this in an effort to scratch that itch! ;-) Time will tell how long it lasts. At the very least, I have the slats and fixings for a more substantial future frame.
Hi, I've never seen bed slats in that size. Ikea only sell them in singles. I imagine it offers better support for two people, rather than just supporting the larger mattress. I hope this helps.
Hi, I still think you'd need something (a couple of sheets or boards) to sit on the bed frame in order to support a box-spring mattress. I hope that helps?
At long last an IKEA video manual! does Aseembly mean 'what an IKEA flatpack seems like before you erect it'? I didn't realize their stuff needed sanding. Looks good.
Woodomain - Jeremy Broun Thanks, Jez. I like to think people out there will be looking for guidance on how one of these goes together... And they'll find my video. ;-) It's that difference between what feels smooth and what's actually ready for a finish. Many would be less pedantic than I am! ;-) All the best.
I used a hammer to lightly tap the tubes down far enough so that the screw reaches the female bit. This was the most difficult part for me. Make sure the two holes are on the inside of the frame, and also drilled on the sam piece of wood when viewing from inside. Hope this helps
Hi Olly, thanks for sharing the video. I will be tasked with building this bed next week but I'm a DIY newbie. If I have an electric drill and a hammer is that everything I need? Thanks in advance

Mine is a memory foam mattress, also from Ikea. I believe you can sit any form of mattress on the frame. Thanks for your comment and I hope this helps.
Hello and thank you. Yes, the metal braces do come with the bed. I can't remember now but they might've be stored in a different part of the Ikea warehouse to the timber (they do this sometimes and I find it really annoying). I hope this helps.

Thank you for your comment. I hope your own bed assembly goes well. Glue isn't at all necessary but I just used a basic white PVA glue for wood. If you wanted to use glue, something like a yellow glue would also be fine. Good luck and all the best.

I'm not the biggest fan of Ikea and will avoid buying anything not made from pine. But currently without a workshop (still...), it almost seems like a viable option. Thanks for your kind words. :-)
Good video, it seems sturdy enough. I've taken one of those bed bases apart rather than take to the tip. Good source of low quality hardwood once you get the staples all removed but the bits have good parts that have been used in other project once the knots have been cut around.
smitcher Thank you. That's good to know you've been able to recycle the materials in the past. I did end up stripping it apart. The wood was only softwood but easily recycled. Even the metal inside went in to the correct bin. I only binned some of the fabric. All the best and thanks for watching.

I would say it's about 2m long, which is roughly the same length as the assembled bed. It went in the back of my estate car quite easily with the seats down. Should also fit in a hatchback in a similar way. I hope this helps.
They stay in place once the mattress is on top. They would be better if they were fixed but nothing in the instructions or the design accounts for this. I may one day drill a few holes and screw them to the frame.
okay mate, get ready for the most weirdly specific question you'll ever be asked can i ask for the dimensions of the NEIDEN bed's legs please? I'm gonna need to use risers to make the bed a bit taller, and I want to make sure that the bed's legs will actually fit in them. If you can get back to me on this then you'll genuinely have saved my freakin' life lmao!

I had a set of screwdriver bits, including a set of hex-head bits. They're numbered H5, H6, H7, etc. I hope that helps?
السرير اخطط أطلبه شكراً لك 👍
ليش استخدم الصمغ؟
Just bought this bed today..single n double
Glad to hear that! Hope they serve you well.
I made the same mistake with the middle beam.... Fuuuuucccckkkkk! Why can't they just make it simple!!?? Nice bed, shitty instructions. Thanks for your help it was better than any other vids put up! Cheers mate!!
Thanks very much for watching. Glad to know I'm not the only one to have made that mistake! All the best.
Hey how long was the box it came in?
I would say it's about 2m long, which is roughly the same length as the assembled bed. It went in the back of my estate car quite easily with the seats down. Should also fit in a hatchback in a similar way.
I hope this helps.
Its nice one ❤️❤️ which size is this ??
This is the double bed frame.
@Oily: the tack, tack, tack of the cordless drill could be avoided by choosing a higher torque. Normally it should not do this.
From memory, I was using an impact driver and not a drill/driver with a clutch. That may explain the noise you describe.
the beds slats are not going to move ? Is it well fixed like that ?
They stay in place once the mattress is on top. They would be better if they were fixed but nothing in the instructions or the design accounts for this.
I may one day drill a few holes and screw them to the frame.
@@OllyParryJones Thank you for you answer ! have a good day
What is the size?
It's about 1.95m x 1.39m. Sized for a standard double matterss. Other sizes may be available. I hope this helps.
Well at least you have such tools 😅 But at least I can now say I had a good arm workout 💪🏽💪🏽
okay mate, get ready for the most weirdly specific question you'll ever be asked
can i ask for the dimensions of the NEIDEN bed's legs please? I'm gonna need to use risers to make the bed a bit taller, and I want to make sure that the bed's legs will actually fit in them.
If you can get back to me on this then you'll genuinely have saved my freakin' life lmao!
I'm so sorry that I missed your comment. Hopefully you've got this sorted by now but I think they're about 69mm x 20mm.
Nice video Olly! Thanks for sharing it with us.😎👍JP
Thank you, JP and thanks for watching. :-) I'll try to have another video up soon.
You're very welcome Olly! 😎
do you think this is enough strong for two people?
Yes, I think it should be fine. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Is this bed super creaky for anyone else as well?
I don't find it to be very creaky and it does seem to make enough of a noise that anyone else might here.
Thanks for watching.
It can accomodate this for 200 kg?
Unfortunately I do not know what the maximum load would be. But I'm confident it could take 150kg and probably more. I hope this helps.
4 hours assembly ... .that's indeed quite a long time. Well... I spent ca. 50 minutes and I am already 80% done I would say....includingthe interruptins of my son who is a great adviser when it comes to construction. But maybe .... I should rather call it playing. So this delays me always a bit. But it is worth the fun.
Glad to hear you're doing well with the assembly and I hope it serves you well. All the best.
@@OllyParryJones Yes - bed works. Our son sleeps well in it.
7:07 thos thingd fon,t want to go in any tips
Hi, I'm not too sure of what to suggest. Have you tried carefully tapping them in with a mallet? Or pulling them in with a clamp, if you have one?
Is it strong enough?
For lying on and sleeping on, it certainly is. You could even stand on it! I still use it to this day. I hope that helps.
Assembling one just now😢
I hope it went well.
@@OllyParryJones really well nice frame
Were the slats included? or did you buy them separately?
These slats were included with the bed frame. They're exactly the same as the ones Ikea sell separately.
Thanks for your question.
Wellp, I don't want the frame anymore. Thanks for the heads up! lol
You're welcome, I guess. Thanks for watching.
Great video
I did't buy the Luroy when I bought the frame. My bed just went through the center of the frame.
So, does your mattress just sit comfortably on or inside the frame?
He does not explain steps to follow for people steps, he just shows how handy he is, show up
Who are you talking to?
This was super helpful!! Thank you so much :)
