    While soy protein does have all the amino acids as meat proteins and dairy proteins, it is very low in some of them however compared to other sources.. Also, soy protein is controversial as it has some effects on hormone production.
    I would recommend using dairy products and a combination of legumes and maybe soy to get an adequate protein intake as a vegetarian.

      +WillBrink Sounds a lot like the Paleo crowd.
      "The chimpanzee is an omnivorous frugivore. It prefers fruit above all other food items and even seeks out and eats them when they are not abundant. It also eats leaves and leaf buds. Seeds, blossoms, stems, pith, bark and resin, insects, and meat make up the rest of its diet." - ( Goodall, Jane (1986). The Chimpanzees of Gombe: Patterns of Behavior. ISBN 0-674-11649-6.)
      An omnivorous frugivore, meaning, it can eat just about anything, but is specialized in and thrives off eating plant foods. Who ever denied this was us?
      We can survive off twinkies and chicken fried steak, but not for long and we won't thrive eating this way.

    • @sigridhansen468
      @sigridhansen468 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +WillBrink Unlike chimps, we've got the technology to produce plant-based protein alternatives.

    • @willbrink
      @willbrink 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great, enjoy eating it. I have no issues with that. It has nothing to do with the issue at hand however, and anyone who thinks we and our closest cousin are not omnivores is wrong period. That's the point. That we may choose not to, is another issue.

    • @sigridhansen468
      @sigridhansen468 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      WillBrink chimps also frequently commit infanticide, only live to be about 50, have pretty high parasite loads, and have very different energy needs than we do, so we shouldn't be basing our dietary choices on what they eat to begin with. The reason we should be switching to sustainable alternatives to mass produced vertibrate meat is entirely separate from the issue of what is "natural". In all honesty, we should be turning not only to plants but also to insects as sources of cheap, sustainable protein if we want any hope of slowing climate change and preventing deforestation/the loss of more biodiversity.

    chimps are evolving. remember guys, we were probably the same at one point in our evolutionary history. first, we ate only plants, but then we tasted meat. the desire never left us and so now, we are full omnivores. i think if evolution is correct, these chimps will be just like us in the future.

    • @unrealdev5178

    • @76ecth981
      @76ecth981 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Doesn't quite work like that, chimps don't turn into humans, they are cousins, we have a common ancestor. Also humans aren't restricted to anything and never were, we are like bears, opportunistic. And for the record, everything is still evolving and adapting, evolution has no final form.

    • @TheCinemaphileJD
      @TheCinemaphileJD 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol...you just misunderstood me. and no they are no omnivores "in the same sense that we are." chimps don't eat pigs, chicken or cows. they eat insects primarily and eating monkeys is a newly discovered thing for them. do you honestly think i meant that chimps would become humans? lol... also, chimps do not eat meat as a major part of their diet, unlike us. they only eat a little bit of it. my original comment meant that in the future, i believe they would become just like us in the sense that they will become fully omnivores, meaning they would probably eat ll kinds of meat, if they could get it. you never really know....anyways, peace! :) i'm just explaining myself btw. cheers.

      @seraphinaaizen6278 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on the primate. Some primates are totally vegetarian, so the fact that some primates eat meat isn't evidence that humans aren't herbivores.
      Although it's worth noting that, as our closest relatives, chimpanzees eating meat IS a better case than most, but it's still not especially good evidence for humans being omnivorous. There's much better evidence for that just by examining our own species; our teeth, for example. We don't have the teeth of a herbivore.
