Believe it or not, but there's actually a bunch of background info to this song!:
This actually a cover from a song made by the Yogscast. They are a gaming squad/content creaters here on TH-cam and on Twitch.

It all started in one of the most succesful Minecraft series here on TH-cam, called 'Shadow of Israphel' (2011). Here Lewis and Simon of the Yogscast roleplay in a story that takes place on their Minecraft server. Simon is a dwarf in this story and in one of their adventures they need to dig for a buried note. Lewis thinks they need an upbeat song while digging for the note, thus Simon improvises the now-famous saying "I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy holy". After this video got released, the saying blew up in the community, resulting in the Yogscast making a full song out of it.
