    A BIT ABOUT ME: I consider myself to be an average rider. Not good with jumps, corners, and not very fast. As I continue to try and improve I find myself becoming more and more passionate about riding and wish I could do this every day. I watched many others start a MTB TH-cam channel and thought it would be fun to start my own. All of them are really good riders and do an amazing job giving out information about trails, gear, and tips. I would like to think I could help review trails that aren’t as well known to encourage more bike traffic. Their channels really motivated me to move forward and put my own little twist on trail rides and mountain biking. I will do my best to inspire people to get out and ride and find people to share my adventures with.
    Always on a quest to find great mountain bike trails, awesome mountain bike friends, helpful mountain biking tips, and amazing MTBing Adventures.

    Nicely done. Its basic and sensible. Of coures with many options for improvements. But its a great start! Im a carpenter and bike mechanic. Best of both! Cheers!

      You could make a totally decked out version. I like the fact it doesn't take up to much space.

    Hello amazing I think this is spectacular for someone amateur who wants to straighten his rim this is enough and plenty of good wor

      Thanks for watching I hope you get good at it. It is definitely a bit of a patience game.

    Nice and simple. Makes me wonder why professional ones are so expensive.

      I guess there just precision tools.

    • @Crazybird920
      @Crazybird920 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      looks fine for a home mechanic, but a shop mechanic can't make adjustments to the precision by turning 2 wood screws in and out over and over. you also need to move the screws to additional holes to work on any different diameter wheel, or to true radially.
      home maintenance might not need the expensive one

    This is probably better than my eBay special truing stand that basically just wants to fall apart.

      It works pretty good. One day I want to make a better one though. I would like for it to be designed where I can put it in a drawer. Mine gets in the way all the time and there's not a lot of room in our garage

    "Careful not to hit the rim?" Why not remove the wheel after you mark your spot? THEN finish drilling the holes.

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, that would probably be a much safer route to go. I was probably just being lazy. I'm always confident in my drilling skills until I screw it up. LOL.

    I still need to learn how to straighten a rim. One day

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's great to know how to do it but I think I would rather have some one do it for me. It becomes very time consuming to do it myself

    How'd it work? Straightened some wheels out?

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It works great. I laced up three wheels so far and trued them up on this homemade contraption. You won't get them perfect but gets really close. Part of my problem is the lack of patience.

    cant you just use an old fork?

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah, you can even use the fork on your bike and just turn it over then put some zip ties on there to help you gauge the alignment. This is just a simple version to give some ideas for maybe having one mounted to your work bench.

    Now thats using the old nogin.

      One day I would like to have a work bench so I can mount that down and have it ready whenever I need to use it. Works really good as long as it's secured properly.

    Hard to hear you in this video. Had to turn up volume all the way. Besides that thanks for the instructional video!

      Thanks for the tip. I have been working on being a bit more confident with my voice and speaking up. I will be sure to speak up a bit more next video that I do in this format. I am glad you liked the video. I appreciate the feedback.

    I think this is great but why bother making it or buy it, just flip the bike on the floor and attach a small pointing rubbers close to the tire or push the break rubbers closer to the tire and see where the tire touch.

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use that method as well. Sometimes it really nice to put it up on a table though when the wheel is really messed up. I feel like it takes less time and makes it easier to adjust that way.

    You spend thousand of dollars on your bike and you can only afford to build a cheap truing stand.....lol

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you know I spend thousands of dollars on my bike? Maybe I got a great deal. Also, their might be people out there this could benefit.

    • @MikelRChannel
      @MikelRChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mtbingadventures1551 to be honest I did benefit from it! Great job! But just dont know if its practical to build one or buy one from Amazon which is $20 more from doing it instead.

    • @mtbingadventures1551
      @mtbingadventures1551  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MikelRChannel yeah, I was trying to build this for as cheap as possible. But with the amount of time and materials I put into this it almost seems better to just buy one. I know some are expensive but I'm sure there are good ones for a great price.
