Received mine today, and it made the balls literally look like brand new after ten minutes with Aramith Restorer and another ten with the Cleaner. All of the tiny scratches are gone - amazing!
what I have found out over time, cheap pool balls do not clean as well and hold shine as long as lets say a good brand name like Aramith, the cleaner Aramith makes is good cleaner but don't put to much on overtime it will build up wax residue and you will have to replace the felt and it's kinda a pain in the neck, but if you spend the money on one of these get the dual platter, also I have had very good results with Meguiars fine-cut cleaner #2.
I purchased a Diamond ball polisher a couple months ago and love it. I only put a small drop of cleaner on a couple balls and that seems to work great. I've been told if you use too much cleaner the pads will gunk up. Have you found this to be the case? Someone also said if they gunk up just take them out and rinse them with warm water and then let them fully dry.
I know the person who invented this. Glen recommends not using aramith polish and cleaner. It gums up the carpet. He recommends megs cleaner wax. If you don't want silicone slickness then something like tiger would work. I love mine. If you do stick with the aramith don't use near as much your gonna soak your carpet in short order.
Hi, mate. What are the other products you recommend? Sorry to be this ignorant but I'm not sure they even sell those in my country, so I'll try to bring them in
i've had it since i've made the video and haven't had to replace them yet and half way through the cleaners, but honestly i only need to wash them once a week or less.
Does the machine always stop in the place it started or did you burn some random luck and just happen to stop them in the same spot. That's a Vegas trip sign right there....
Those things are great. There is no doubt that they are pricey but in comparison I have a $400 set of Aramith Tournaments, a $350 set of Centennials, and a $200 set of Cyclops so considering my investment in pool balls the polisher wasnt that bad. Also, if your balls are in great shape you only need a small drop of cleaner on every other ball and run the machine for 10-15 minutes, thats all it takes to make mine look new again.
Well Gearhead I did the same exact thing. Did the bucket thing... Meh. Then for the last 2 months I've been thinking of making one, yeah thinking. You know, wood box a plater, mounting the motor blah, blah, blah. This thing does an amazing job I think because it rotates the balls in multiple directions. If you play with clean balls you can definitely tell the difference. After the first time using it that "It's a waste of money thing" disappears immediately. I can say that because I own one.
Your a funny guy, and great vid! Thanks, I have been looking for a cleaning machine for my Brunswick Centennial balls. I laugh because I had seen your older video and attempted to make one……well short story, I had ball being spitting out, and had one miss my head that probably would have knocked me out, lol! I can’t say I didn’t try. I think it was the very heavy duty rotator buffer and me wanting to turbo clean!
the more expensive balls like centennials and pro cup have more layers of clear coat on them than cheaper balls. still a simple build on one of these. Just need to know what the material is.
Ahhh! The good old days. I used to live at the local "Billiards Parlor" in my teen years, much to the chagrin of my parents. I took a fancy to Snooker and held my own at 8-ball and 9-ball and broke even on the betting side. I owned 2 cues, a lightweight for snooker and a heavier one for the times I just wanted to be aggressive. Congrats on winning the tourney and I'm glad you're into something fun to bring some balance to your busy life, Eric. But I have to ask, Did you just squander the down payment on the C-8 just because you wanted a fancy way to polish your balls?
I'm with you on this. Spent a few hundred bucks on the finest Aramith standard and snooker balls, beautiful table, fantastic cue sticks. Only seems right to give the balls the best treatment money can buy to prolong their life and enjoyment. I made a bucket version just to prove to myself how much I wouldn't like it. Time to get the Diamond.
I purchased mine from Seyberts. All the places I called that sold them wanted $500 for 8 ball polisher. Mannings wanted $120 for shipping. Diamond's wanted $75 and Seyberts only charged me $26, so I went with them. Machine came and looks great. I was at the Joss tournament and they gave you $50 off so $450 but still wanted the $75 for shipping.
Can you get without the print on side. I have the diamond table with bowed legs no advertising. Don't like to mess up nice stuff with painted lettering/advertising same with light. Thanks.
@@BiLatKnee oh, haha, believe it or not. my old work indirectly bought it for me, it was $450 when i purchased it. My old work let me invoice for all expenses and I have a cash back card, i let it rack up a few months and bought it :)

Thanks for the info, i only use the aramith cleaner every other time I run them through the cleaner.
Mike, does it make the balls play any different? I mean, different from, for example, new balls

Yes! Tiny amount. little dab'll do ya
I used way too much in the video.
Not this much.

Does cleaning the balls eliminate ball burn on the pool table. I recently got new cloth on my table and I see some burn marks from my pool balls.
Nope. Never will.
I plugged mine in and turned the timer but it didn't start. Is there a some step you left out of the video?
Nope, that's all it takes
How long do the pads of cleaner last? Maintenance of Diamond ball polished? Thanks

Good call. And ya, i over did the goop that time. I've scaled way back on polisher, sometimes running none for a few minutes.
Will it get the marks off the balls from the pockets?
Usually yes.
