- Bringing It Home - Feinstein's/54 Below - March 13, 2019
Nick Cartell can currently be seen across the country as Jean Valjean in the National Tour of Les Misérables, delivering a performance that reviews have called “nothing short of consummate” (Louis Hobson, Calgary Herald) and “outstanding in the pivotal role of Jean Valjean” (Amy Stempfl, The Tennessean). Now Nick is finally Bringing It Home to Broadway’s Living Room at Feinstein’s/54 Below. Mixing Broadway hits old and new, rock, pop, and even a little rat pack, it’s a feel-good evening of his favorites, and yours too. Having performed and produced on the Feinstein’s/54 Below stage, it’s Nick’s turn to step out in his very first solo show and bring his story to life. You won’t want to miss it.

I just saw Nick out here in L.A. at Les Mis and he nearly got standing ovations after each song. It was the most amazing cast and night at the Pantages. Thank you Nick for a memorable performance...in fact so good I bought tickets to see it again!!!
I need a cast recording with Nick yesterday. No one else compares
That “push” was *SPOT ON*
Wilbursoot mmmm
"Awesome! Wow!"
(Sorry couldn't resist lol)
Yes! This is one of my favorite songs from the show and this is the first I’ve seen on par with the original. Spectacular!
It's my first time watching a performance of this song and actually enjoy it more than the original. Love Jonathan Groff's version, I thought nothing could top that, but this performance is so good!
Ryan Reynolds can really sing
Amazing!!
Wish i could buy this version
Sass level = Perfect
Yas!
Oh my gosh you're amazing
He killed this 💪
Wow that was awesome!
Perfect amount of menace.
Love
Best version of this song I've seen so far! xD
I love this arrangement for this size band. How can I find this arrangement?
Great cover!
He was singing a little to fast I think
Edit: if anyone things I am saying this to be mean I am not
If you look at the pacing, it's surprisingly not too far off in pace. It's the accompaniment that makes it feel that way.
Thinking the same thing...
Well, the character was supposed to be insane, so you wouldn't really expect somebody who was insane to be able to keep a very good tempo. So I think he did good on that.
After Breaking Bad, Jonathan Banks went to play bass at 54 Below.
What , did Lin see this ?
Drummer was way too loud
Not that you can't sing but please keep a tempo 😑
I think it's called dramatic license. Or I may have just made that up, but it seems like on stage, you can play with a song to make it work.
He’s got decent pipes but I feel like he’s just doing Groffsauce Light. This was a concert, not the full experience, but I’m underwhelmed. It’s a mashup of Jonathan Groff and Michael Jibson. Derivative of both. I’ve come to the conclusion that unlike most musical numbers, the King’s songs really need the whole costume to make them work.
