I am disappointed of this update.
as an archviz artist, I am looking for more updates.
I need to see when as corona users will deal with chaos vantage.
We need fixing animation rendering bugs for heavy scenes.
We need to know if there is a plan for GPU transformation instead of CPU rendering.
We need to see the power of ACES workflow like many render engines.
We need improvements in speed of IR render.
We need more improvements like vray render.
I think in archviz community having more requests than that.
I wish that corona developers listen to us.

It's clear to me you should be making a switch, because vray has everything you need. Why stick to Corona, if you need features renderers like vray or arnold already have?
I agree with you, but you know that corona is an industry standrad like vray, If I work with a studio which using corona, so I should stick to it.
Also, vray has it's cons.
Many artists switched to corona render because it's easy, direct and with simple clicks you will have a great results.
If this render engine doesn't update, It will be die by time.
We want to see a bright future for corona render, as users we could be patient for the coming updates.
That's exactly the problem why should we adopt a completely new workflow for a company that has the exact same tech. We have been promised that when Chaos bought Corona that it would mean sharing of tech and an overall product, instead Vray just keeps getting better and Corona got double the subscription costs. @@iannolisgeorgianimis4925
it seems corona is done. they stick with their "proud cpu based rendering" bullshit, and thats it.
they dont even care to implement a fucking cartoon shader into corona for years, and all their newer updates just ridiculous, and feels more like a hotfix.
I dont have a problem with corona render though, because it serves its purpose, but chaos just doesnt care anymore and its pretty annoying because its not that cheap

The hopeful news is that Corona Vantage may be released. This isn't 100% sure, but we still have a chance to try Corona as a GPU. I'll be waiting for it.
Is there anyone like me waiting for the Corona vantage?

hi, i am beginner in 3ds max, i have one doubt, that, i have installed vray, but its not working properly. for example i draw a cube, then i open vray material library and drag & drop one material (ex. bricks) on that cube, it texture was visible in normal views but it is not visible in vray render frame buffer... it shows just like plain white... how to resolve or change any option to resolve this issue...?, can you help me with it...!
so the power tools are nothing but some soulburn scripts. Well it is good to see those integrated into this new release. very useful scripts.
Everything but not the most important one. Where is the one click EDGE TRIMMING for the chaos scatter???? 😢😢😢😢 How long will that take lol? 😅😅

the problem is that we can not convert vray to corona properly specially matelness of material is a big issue please inform about it.

I just updated now my 3dsmax isolating and end isolate obects takes long time although i have super computer with high graphic CPU and 128 RAM any body help me what happened?

Once you install Corona 11 they should show up in 3ds Max as a toolbar.

whats the difference between AO and DistanceEdge?
Wanted to ask same but it looks like the Distance edge focus on shadow falloffs and positioning than ambient occlusion which has limited control of the overall shadow of the object

I actually adopted corona since it was alpha in 2015 and worked with it in 2016 and it was incredible at the time , but ... GPU's are quite beasts now and no point of insiting on using CPU specially after Blender's impressive renderer Cycles got a fine re-write , made it a beast and literrally changed my life , Corona GPU ... or into the abyss , also the updates are quite a flop ... brick texture ??? really
Some parts support GPU, but not rendering itself yet.. ?
Corona is purely a CPU renderer. Only the AI denoising is done on the GPU.
Enjoy Thailand, my favorite country well after Poland of course :) I recommen Ko Samet for 1 night

Meh, this is .1 release at most. Very disappointed release.
What were you expecting? As they said themselves when a renderer has been out for a while and is top quality. The jumps between upgrades get smaller.
the truth is it all went down the hill the moment Ondra sold out Corona to Chaos, I am slowly looking at other render engines, the future is GPU, whether people like to hear it or not. @@grizzlybear1633
IN ALL I CAN SAY THE UPDATES ARE NOT SPECIAL AS ANTICIPATED . THEY ARE MAINLY FOR ADVANCED CORONA USERS.
That was a good point, but... We were waiting for the GPU update. Corona has evolved. We just need to update the GPU and we don't want anything from Corona anymore. you see my message rendering !!!! We want you to activate the GPU, which is the most useful thing for users.
From my understanding Corona was never intended (and I think they said they don't plan to it) to be GPU based because of the sacrafice in quality. Just use V-Ray :)
Does that mean rendering engines such as OCTANE, FSTORM, VRAY and RENDERMAN are now under question because of their GPU quality and realism?? The best renderings, the most cinematic shadows and processing, this rendering engine that I said is happening, then Corona comes due to defects in coding and the core of the program, it says this, it's really strange!!@@ArchVizArtist

Nobody who seriously uses Corona wants GPU there and if they do, they use VRay. When it comes to better quality renderings, you always use CPU instead of GPU. What some people say is quite remarkable. In addition, it has already been mentioned several times that a GPU render was never planned in Corona, nor in the near future.
