Just found your channel within the last few weeks, really loving it and enjoying your expert analysis and psychological take on things! Fascinating! 👏👍🙌
Dr. G.... I am a Psychologist in CA and jave been really enjoying your videos. Very thoughtful observations consistent with the person's behavior and evidence based. So much better than what most therapists put on social media. Thanks!
This is only second video I've watched of yours. I like that you have short videos. I see some from others I'm interested in and then see they are 2 to 3 hours or even longer and that's just too long for me.
Loved your analysis & responses in the comments. First time I am watching one of your videos. New subscriber here. Thank you for covering this in such detail.
Just found your channel watching the psychologist for the defense in the Letecia Stauch trial. I’m now a subscriber and have subscribed to Recovery Addict too. Love your channel!
Love love love this content! Makes me feel like I'm back in Psych courses! - and also is like someone else is saying what I'm thinking when I watch these videos on my own, but you're doing it out loud (and with a higher degree) 😅 - makes it so much more interesting! I wish more education-focused experts like you were on the news instead of pundits.
Interesting - I just came over to your channel today after watching Recovery Addict for the first time. I found it on my own and wasn't sure I'd keep watching, but I'll give it more of a chance.
Hey Dr. G, I just wanted to say I really appreciate your insight and the fact that you are not allowing this pending trial to obscure your analysis of Bryan K…
We have the same law in Pennsylvania about not blocking intersections. As for "home" being rural and without crosswalks . . . DeSales University is located in Center Valley, PA which is part of Lehigh Valley, PA. As of the 2020 census, Lehigh Valley had a population of 861,899 and was the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the U.S.
Many people have watched this interaction and said it was creepy or made them feel something negative. I believe thats just because as we're watching this, we already know what he's been charged with. If we never seen him before and knew nothing about him or his charges... we would see this and think nothing. Its just a traffic stop with a guy who asks questions that hes got every right to ask. There was nothing astonishing about this interaction at all.
I disagree. Most people do not challenge the officer like this. They don't ask to see the exact law. Sure, he has that right, but most people don't push back this hard, so this interaction definitely stands out. And claiming there are no crosswalks in Pennsylvania? lol. Such a bold lie. That was hilarious and definitely would raise anyone's brow. Also, he never smiles. And he doesn't act nervous or apologetic like most people would in this situation. He's like a robot.
@@raspberrysherbet5285 Wow, why did you make SIX comments in response to my 1? Kind of psycho. You're right, though... I guess I don't know how to manipulate a cop to get out of a ticket. It's not in my nature to be that manipulative to a cop. Plus I don't get pulled over. I'll take your word for it. Obviously you know all about it. As for Kohberger, he has driven all over his home state. He didn't stay confined to his childhood neighborhood all his life. He drove from his house to 2 different college campuses many times. He must have encountered crosswalks on numerous occasions. He lied to this cop plain and simple.
He doesn’t seem very socially awkward as people who knew him said he was. I know people who struggle with this and they would not be able to speak with the officer as he did.
What is eerie about him is that he doesn’t blink. He’ll turn away, or dart his eyes as he is pondering his thoughts. He, also, appears uncomfortable, yes, he is polite, but he never smiled or connected. I predict he will take the stand in his defense. He is calculating, and will insist the jury hears what he wants to present.
@@raspberrysherbet5285 what do you mean he can’t? If he decided he wanted to represent himself at coming trial he could. Anyone can do so. Albeit it’s always a mistake to do so.
@@raspberrysherbet5285 🤔 I think you may be a bit confused about this. There’s a suspect. And then there’s the lawyer representing them. No one else is involved. Only the law and what they are privy to.
EXACTLY! Even if I had no knowledge of what he had allegedly done, I would see the same souless eyes. 😬 I've been stopped for minor traffic violations in the past, but I have never debated it or questioned the officer. He's trying to back pedal to get out of a ticket.
Woe to all of you and your comments. You can't judge didly squat about his soul. Bryan is just being Bryan, and I don't see anything wrong with that. He's getting railroaded, Guys.

Unlike everyone else thinking he was polite and all, I see that as an act, he is a perfectionist who does not like to be criticized at all. He was being difficult making this conversation about how he did nothing wrong and tried to justify it in a polite manner. He showed that he is no average Joe and is smart (personally I don’t think he is as much as he thinks he is) which he wants everyone to know. He knows he is a challenge and a difficult person, although he apologized for this I really think he enjoys being that way and challenging others as he has a superiority complex.

Yes definately a superiority complex, he's only making a fool of himself. If the officer had a different personality it could've been percieved as hostile. No smile no friendlyness, very cold. I would immediatly not've liked him. He tries to be so clever and it would not impress me.

I continue to enjoy your content and insights. I’m glad that you mentioned the potential for an inner battle with anger and frustration here. I noticed Bryan bare his teeth on two occasions, towards the beginning with the word “then” and near the end with the word “visit”. There used to be a boy in my class who used to give me the creeps. He would stare, but in a very strange way, with a smirk on his face. Really creepy. And even though I lived in a village I never saw or heard of him again. Often wonder what happened to him. This guy reminds me a bit of him, those staring wide eyes.
Never know. That Guy could be a pretty Cool Dude. Never know, but seems like you judged him before getting to know him. But, I wasn't there, could been bat-shit crazy too.
Hey Dr. G!! Hope your day is well 💛 Not sure if you (or anyone else) noticed this but… at 5:35 he says hes from PA “& we actually don’t have crosswalks. So even if, even if you’re kinda slightly in… they have… like there’s a little bit more leeway as well………..” & then talks about the multiple lines. *Thought you said you don’t have crosswalks in PA?? So what has multi lines giving you leeway??* But then at 9:16 he fixes his oopsie & says “Yea, I’m actually just from a very rural area so [dont have blah blah] unless I visit an area where there are crosswalks.” - Good catch there BK.👍🏼 *But what would have made this traffic stop epic… is if as soon as he said “I’m from PA & we don’t have crosswalks - “ - LEO cuts him off & instantly questions THAT statement - Oh yea? Where in PA? - becuz she’s lived all but 3 yrs of her life all over PA & only the Amish areas don’t have crosswalks… or painted 2-lane roads for that matter.🤔 HA!!* Ohhhh what woulda been his answer then??!!?!😂
From one Dr. G to another- I appreciate your videos, I’m a comm professor and it’s really interesting to hear your analysis. I keep being taken back by items you don’t mention. How he bit his lip when he apologized to her tells me he’s not actually sorry- it’s like he’s uncomfortable saying it and wishes he could stuff it back in his mouth. I also find it really interesting how he questions everything about this traffic violation with a female officer, which seems very cut and dry but he doesn’t at all question the male officer. He asks all these questions here and makes some ridiculous claims- we don’t have cross-walks in Pennsylvania? Of course we do. He even seems to realize that was a stupid thing to say because he later tries to back-pedal it- oh I’m from a rural area and there aren’t crosswalks there. He lived near several major cities so that is still ridiculous. He also attempts to show empathy by talking about blocking the crosswalk- like he can see how that wouldn’t be right to do. His deep glance to the right side multiple times during his questioning shows he’s lying about not understanding the laws. He asks her to show him the exact law- never mentioning that he studied criminal justice, which is also off because that could be a way to connect with the officer that may indicate common ground that could get him out of the ticket. It doesn’t occur to him to try to connect with her in that way. I know this is before the murders and perhaps he was nervous in the other traffic stop but he doesn’t mention it to that cop either- even when asked if he works for the University. He doesn’t even say he’s a PhD student, which is strange because it’s another thing that could make him seem like an upstanding citizen? He doesn’t question the tailgating and that seems much more subjective than this running a red-light. He doesn’t make any excuses to the male officer. While I agree that he kept looking forward in that video because he wanted to get out of there, his intent staring and leaning in looked to me like he was just trying to hear the officer. He seemed annoyed he was pulled over in that video as well but he was more confident and arrogant when speaking to the female officer, which indicates clearly how he feels about women in positions of authority. In his video in court, it struck me as odd how he flinched when his lawyer mentioned bail and how he nodded along with her saying they haven’t had enough time to review all the information. His nodding along as she said that was a stark contrast to his flat affect otherwise and was a strong attempt to show support and showed how much he wants to get out even though he is emotionless otherwise. Considering how flatly he said he understood the charges, even cutting the judge off mid-sentence, I found that nodding out of character and very meaningful.
Interesting! My layperson/true crime watcher interpretation when I first watched was that he was determined to be in the right - It felt like he almost kept rephrasing/repositioning himself so she'd agree with him. Fascinating to see what an expert notes and compare it to my own observations/conclusions.

I moved from a state that wants you to be in center of intersection for left turn while waiting for traffic. I moved to a state that wants you behind the line. It is frustrating to understand the laws around this. I asked the DMV what the law was and they had to ask higher ups to answer. I asked the state reps about this and many said they didn't know the law on this. I felt BK interaction was very measured, polite and yet he did want to understand the law since we make left turns everytime we drive it is important to understand the law. I felt he was saying I am not from this area to help her understand he has no knowledge of this law. I didn't feel he was trying to get out of the ticket.
Er….isn’t it just common sense not to enter an intersection if your exit isn’t clear to travel through? We only have to make it a law to prevent stupid or intentionally provocative people from making life irritating for everyone else. 🙄🇬🇧
I agree...I am from NYC and now live in Chicago and there is no WAY that drivers behind us would ever be okay with a driver sitting behind the line, waiting to make a left turn. It is entirely possible that no one would ever make it out of that turn lane during rush hours were this the case. You have to move forward into the intersection, waiting for a break and often you can find one. If several drivers scootch up, several cars can make it through before the light changes. I feel like we are seeing Kohberger in a biased way in this particular video...and believe me...he chills me to my marrow and I think he killed those kids.
Exactly. I don't feel he didn't want to get out of the ticket... He has the right to ask questions because he is driving in a different state.... What's wrong with the American people?? Stop being so judgmental...

Considering the information regarding his treatment of women, that is out in the public, I notice challenging behaviour, the questioning of her knowledge etc. So I compared to the traffic stop by the male LE to this video. Totally different approach. Do you agree?
From the second he was stopped, I picked up on, he was adverting her attention from the traffic stop to "explain the law for me so you feel more likely to have a conversation w me and sway you to forget the reason im being pulled over". Very caculated. Thats also why serial killers are so successful at gaining their victims attention. They ask questions to keep the person engaged, it allows them to drop their guard and "trust" them, because you're suddenly "helping" that person, when people feel they are being helpful, they drop all guards and awareness of potential danger.
Not confrontational from my perspective. He could be a bit Aspy for everything we’ve heard of his personality. Aspy’s can be so pedantic about details. People on the spectrum are notorious for calling out inaccuracies and unjust actions/responses/penalties… My daughter is like a dog with a bone… As for the road rules. Here in Australia it’s the same as he’s doing. Sometimes in a busy period, the only way you get to make that 90 degree turn is to be in the centre of the intersection when the light goes orange. Then you still waiting for those running the orange. Then very often you finally get to go when it’s red… As he’s eluding to, the only safe response at that time is to make the turn out of the intersection. Hesitating and other options are more dangerous than making the turn.
typical, cold no remorse kind of psychopath. i mean if there were any questions left, i think they were answered here. that look says just the whole story
I learned to drive in Washington in a high school class and I am almost positive we were taught to push out into the intersection. My father taught me this as well. I’m glad I have now been informed otherwise. I have been driving for 50 years! And I could see myself acting like he did if it happened to me.
He was from out of town, so the cop made a pre-textual stop, but misrepresented the law to do so. It’s a 4th amendment rights violation. It would be difficult to prove, and the courts allow pre-textual stop (based on a valid reason), and it would be argued that the cop “made an honest mistake”.
Same here! I've been driving for over 40 years and have never received a ticket for any traffic violation. My driver ed teacher taught me to move right in and don't be timid.
I agree he is very intelligent and analytical, but he's not necessarily challenging the officer, instead challenging the law itself. I'm thinking I would use the word specific, as he was questioning the officer about what WA law states as opposed to Pennsylvania law. He also kept questioning further to be clear what he should do in any future incidences. Thank you for being unbiased and non judgemental in your analysis.
I think he’s guilty but that being said, I used to challenge LE when I was younger and got stopped for a traffic violation. Now, I’d just suck it up and take the ticket.
@TS ... Very good comments. I do think he's intelligent, clear thinker, and very apropos how he handled the Officer's situation. I see that he handled it well and is an interesting individual.
I live in Pennsylvania and our law is the same. You are not to enter an intersection while waiting to make a left hand turn ( although most people do, so they don’t have to wait another cycle of light changes). Also, we do have crosswalks so he is lying. I wonder if he would acted the same with a male police officer. I never knew that it was illegal to do this until recently. My grandson is learning to drive and going for his license soon and told me I was doing something illegal 🙀. Good to know!!😉
He didn't say there's no crosswalks in Pennsylvania, he said "from where he's from" in Pennsylvania. If he's referring to the rural and the less populated parts of suburban areas, he could be right.
Interesting insights as always. You, Dr. G. are among that number of content creators with whom I would either like to meet, have a few beers, talk about pretty much any topic, or, better, were I a lottery winner, invite to a My Favorite TH-camrs Banquet-to which I would fly in the minds and voices that I respect and admire, who inform and entertain. I would then simply sit back and absorb the energetic repartee. Peace.
It's interesting she says the RCW are hard to read because tbey are in legalese. WA has a govorners order that laws must be in plain talk so the public can actually understand them without a lawyer.
From WA state here- we have RCW’s Revised Code of WAshington. They are hard to read. Then we have WAC’s which are Washington Administrative Code and those are easier to read.
Yes he doesnt come across as charismatic for sure. Uses his intelligence. In Ireland we always challenge the Gardai when they stop us. Its usually mixed with humour 😂
I don't understand why people say he looks like a monster. He doesn't. Most people who murder don't. I doubt he would be in jail if they weren't sure he was guilty, but he still deserves a fair trial. Great channel!!
For me, it's how much white of the eyes he shows, and the intensity of his gaze. It's predatory, if you've seen the eyes of a cat about to pounce on a toy, that is what I feel in his gaze.
I had a man come to my house, he had brought my uncle over to see my father. He then towed my sisters car to put on my drive. He came in for a drink, and chatted for a while. But I took a dislike to him, as I soon realised he was telling me a load of lies, trying to make himself seem better than he thought. About a week later, he was front page news, he had killed four women and an elderly man. Didn't like him, like I said, but never thought he would have done something like that. He wanted to take my sister out, and my mother told her you're not going out with him, I don't like him. My sister nearly did accept, just to show mum that as she was in her thirties, she could do what she wanted. Luckily she didn't go out with him, as she may have been another victim. And yes, he didn't look like a monster, he looked like just another man.

I think he was trying to control the duscussion snd subtly undermine the police officer. I felt there was a lot of anger there (underneath the 'persona') but he seems able to shut that anger down and or just not feel it. He definitely didnt want to be wrong here snd wanted to win this. I'd imagine he will take the stand at his trial as he will want too. Don't think that will be in his favor as I dont think the jury will like him.
He keeps saying in Pennsylvania like he doesn't live in Washington state and has gone to college there for years. And, being a criminology student like he is, he should absolutely know "Ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking the law".
Yes, he'd only arrived in WA to start his PhD - the term starting in August. He was at DeSales in PA prior to that. Not sure exactly what month he moved though, but he bought his phone in PA in June according to the affidavit.
I find it VERY interesting he never "education-checked" her and told her he was a PhD candidate in criminology, with a Masters/Undergraduate degree in the same. I would think that most narcissists (especially ones with an inclination to be misogynistic + intelligent) would love the opportunity to "name drop" his status on the female officer. I find it very interesting and intriguing that he deliberately chose to manipulate the situation by firmly pressing her about the fact that he "didn't know" and was from out of state. I feel like he is so hyper-intelligent and analytical that he thought through that conversation tactic / angle quite deliberately --- instead of other narcissists / men with antisocial personality disorders, who might talk down to her directly/overtly.
Nothing he's said or done has come off as narcissistic, it's merely what some people are guessing about his personality. Could he have been rude to some girls at school? Maybe... but it's also completely possible they took his grading personally and made him sound sexist because of the current political climate around colleges. Lol My point is we don't know if he's objectively sexist or rude, or if some people just see him that way. Don't assume what every single person has said about him is correct. The people who don't like you will describe you very differently than the people who do, who is to say either are objectively correct?
@@kyradebruin9522 Thank you, Kyra. I've been a graded, and I had some Cute GIrls go ape-shit on me. Cried and ran out of the room when I put them in their place. After they left, kindof sad that people laughed at their asses. But, of course, last minute in the semester, I spent 1 to 2 hours (more like 2 hrs) on nearly last class night to help one of those girls complete the final assignment, almost did it over the phone with her and for her. So, she ended up with much higher grade and, hopefully, learned how to use the tool we were using. So, for me, I don't read anything into the way he acts. People are wired differently, and how he handled the Officer was very apropos to me. Nothing abnormal, even if he wanted to know what the law actually was. This is exactly how I would have handled it too.
@@kyradebruin9522 Also, Kyra, I had some girl come to my office hours and try to be flirty with the top exposing a little. Thankfully, I knew we had a camera in the room; in case, she said anything about me that wasn't true. But, thankfully, she really did need help, and I took the time to do whatever she needed (after telling her I was married) to improve her assignment.
@@kyradebruin9522 Not to mention, most people are confusing arrogance and narcissism, and they aren’t mutually exclusive. Narcissism is a pattern of behaviors over time involving extreme entitlement and low empathy. You’re right. We absolutely cannot diagnose him as a narc based on this 10-minute interaction and a few questionable truths spewed out on Newsnation. The fact that he apologized for the way he was coming across tells me his narc level might be low. All the true narcs I know NEVER apologize for anything. 😂
I dont know if its the view and or the lighting in this video but for the first time I can see why they say he has bushy eyebrows, thus matching the description of the suspected killer. They are definitely prominent from this angle.

I know I wouldn't sit there and point out all the differences between one State and another. She said these can be hard to read because they're in legal language. She underestimated him.

BK is clearly trying to bs the officier. I know where DeSales & Northampton CC are located.
@@RG-hf4et Totally agree!
I wouldn’t think it’s nothing at all. This behavior has little to no affect, it is mechanical. Very disturbing & atypical of psychopaths.
I agree with you.
@@raspberrysherbet5285 The bias is heavy.
As for Kohberger, he has driven all over his home state. He didn't stay confined to his childhood neighborhood all his life. He drove from his house to 2 different college campuses many times. He must have encountered crosswalks on numerous occasions. He lied to this cop plain and simple.
Fair review. One thing to notice is, he did not raise his voice.

What is eerie about him is that he doesn’t blink. He’ll turn away, or dart his eyes as he is pondering his thoughts.
He, also, appears uncomfortable, yes, he is polite, but he never smiled or connected.

Hey Dr. - becuz she’s lived all but 3 yrs of her life all over PA & only the Amish areas don’t have crosswalks… or painted 2-lane roads for that matter.🤔 HA!!* Ohhhh what woulda been his answer then??!!?!😂
Very interesting case, thanks for your insight. 😊🇦🇺
Love your channel very interesting. He gives me the creeps his eyes there's something about those big staring eyes!! Lol
The whole thing is an act on BK's part. He was seething inside.

@@madwhitehare3635 No. Because what he did is PERFECTLY LEGAL in places. I was taught in Driver’s Ed to do it
I agree...I am from NYC and now live in Chicago and there is no WAY that drivers behind us would ever be okay with a driver sitting behind the line, waiting to make a left turn.

Considering the information regarding his treatment of women, that is out in the public, I notice challenging behaviour, the questioning of her knowledge etc. So I compared to the traffic stop by the male LE to this video. Totally different approach. Do you agree?
Have been enjoying recovery addict content. Thank you for the recommendation!
People on the spectrum are notorious for calling out inaccuracies and unjust actions/responses/penalties… My daughter is like a dog with a bone…
As for the road rules. Here in Australia it’s the same as he’s doing. Sometimes in a busy period, the only way you get to make that 90 degree turn is to be in the centre of the intersection when the light goes orange. Then you still waiting for those running the orange. Then very often you finally get to go when it’s red…
As he’s eluding to, the only safe response at that time is to make the turn out of the intersection. Hesitating and other options are more dangerous than making the turn.
very good analysis imo
I was coming to the comments to bring this up. Many signs of aspergers/ austim level 1.

typical, cold no remorse kind of psychopath. i mean if there were any questions left, i think they were answered here. that look says just the whole story
Awsome analysis. When you compare this footage to the footage with his dad in the car. There is a huge difference.
I learned to drive in Washington in a high school class and I am almost positive we were taught to push out into the intersection. My father taught me this as well. I’m glad I have now been informed otherwise. I have been driving for 50 years! And I could see myself acting like he did if it happened to me.
Lol you’re not alone. In TN we are not taught this and tons of out of state people have stated we are wrong. It’s a state by state case
No you are right. This cop is wrong
As a professional truck driver i can confirm that she is indeed correct
I’ve never seen dr g so animated about a case. I think there needs to be a Kohberger deep dive follow your heart
I agree. If it were not BK, I think we'd just be discussing an analytic mind, maybe with some 'spectrum?' involved as well.
Police enforce the laws. This law was simple. Maybe officer was attractive, and that's the way he flirts. Yuk.
I think he’s guilty but that being said, I used to challenge LE when I was younger and got stopped for a traffic violation. Now, I’d just suck it up and take the ticket.

Yes he will testify like all narcissist murderers have done in the past, and this has always been their undoing.
He doesn't blink
If he testifies, he will probably try and ask his own questions to the prosecutor, like he did here with the police officer..
I will be shocked if he should testify. He will clam up..but will be one of the lead defense attny's from his jail cell.
He keeps saying in Pennsylvania like he doesn't live in Washington state and has gone to college there for years. And, being a criminology student like he is, he should absolutely know "Ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking the law".
He wasn't in WA for years, he was a fairly recent transplant. I agree with the your point, though.
Only he does not fit the narcissist personality type.
Hey Doc G
Hello!
I dont know if its the view and or the lighting in this video but for the first time I can see why they say he has bushy eyebrows, thus matching the description of the suspected killer. They are definitely prominent from this angle.
He's very knowledgable of the law in both PA and Washington. He applied for the Pullman Police Dept. It almost feels that he thinks he knows more than her. This was a challenge for him. I know I wouldn't sit there and point out all the differences between one State and another. She said these can be hard to read because they're in legal language. She underestimated him.
When she said I don’t think she was underestimating him as much as chastising him. It was her way of saying “you’re not as smart as you think you are dude”
