Good to see all your beautiful people back once again with the melting Muppet. Bit of a long one today but a hell of a lot of melts going on which is always welcome and some awesome bits and pieces added to the vault. So sit back relax enjoy the video but most importantly have a happy safe weekend and I hope to see all you People next Friday for another one 👊🏻😁
I love all the new molds. That magpie is pretty brassy now that it's used to the shop. Still thinking of a name. Maybe Circlet because it keeps coming around.
I always know I have a bad sleep schedule when I catch one of these within 3 hours of posting, but this time I think it counts as insomnia. I’m not complaining though because these videos are always phenomenal! Also the magpie should be Sterling. Like silver.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the copper getting nestled in the aluminum serving tray, my mind went "Oh look, a metal baked potato!" Anyway thank you for all the nice metal melts! 😁
Another good melting job. As for naming the magpies, when I was a kid there was a cartoon about two mischievous magpies named Heckle and Jeckle. As good a names as any.
You are awesome for these videos. I watch them to kind of quiet my mind before going to sleep. I will admit that I have slept through some of the videos. But I try my best not to kiss them. It is a good way to relax. Thank you for the awesome content.
38:01 humming magpie 41:15 sorry interrupt you🐦 48:05 beauty Al bronze My house is small so I use a propane burner and stone clay for metallurgy. I am making ankhs, goddess ankhs, that are about 7cm in size. This channel is the catalyst!👍
I think that's the cleanest Brass pour I've ever seen you do. That must have been some seriously clean brass because it normally pours so ugly. Looks great after cleanup but pours ugly. Great video!
I always get hungry watching your videos. I can't think why(!) 😁 Seeing zinc ingots makes a change, even if they are only temporary. The copper is what we come here to see, though! Although, aluminium bronze would do. That magpie should be called Sticky Beak. The name fits them perfectly.
Nice variety in that melt Knackers! That saw probably wouldn't pull the copper out anywhere near as bad if you slowed the feed down a bit, and increase the blade speed by adjusting the belts on the drive unit. Have a good one mate, talk soon.
Also, I had a lockpicking channel that died due to lack of locks. It pains me to see them melted. Brass, bronze, steel, sometimes zinc and aluminum. They're a mishmash of metals to melt. And some are hard to get outside thier respective regions. I could never find a steady supply of new or vintage euro, apac, and other regional varietals.
Thankful for BigstackD, Mrs StackD, the Monkeys, Devil Forge, giant motors, little scraps, and everything that's made the past decade+ of Friday uploads possible. Thanks, BigstackD! 🤎
The term "Muppet" was coined by Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets, in the 1950s. Henson claimed that the word was a combination of the words "marionette" and "puppet". However, he later said that he only said this because it sounded plausible, and that he actually liked the way the word sounded.
If you do a beach smelt, really do a beach smelt... I mean take some sand and try to melt it int glass... I know that's not how it really works, takes a special sand, but would be fun to see...
I've always considered myself as a tough bloke, when it comes to work that is, but as a Brit, to get me in that basement(?) I would have to have full PPE. Which would include STEEL gauntlets, a full LEAD body suit and fur boots that come up to my neck. Oh, and a flame thrower, because No way, NO WAY would I go in there with the sort of "EXOTICS" you have in Beautiful, DANGEROUS Australia. Better bloke than I...
Good morning from California's beautiful wine country. I hope all my fellow US citizens had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and the remaining viewers had a wonderful Thanksgiving or whatever holiday of be thankful in your country has was wonderful this year.😊😊😊 I practically ate until 🤮🤮🤮😂😂😂
for years now i have wanted to get you a polygon styled abstract tiger mold but molds are SUPER CRAZY EXPENCIVE, maybe with your youtube dollerydoos you can get yourself one and ill just pretend i got it for you lmao.
Got me till December before i can get back to melting and i cannot wait cause i got a new 16kg furnace coming (Had a 10kg but the 10kg crucibles were a bit big for it and i suspect they were mixed up with no. 12s or a variance in the crucible manufacturing)
I've got a random comment........how 'bout you move that shade sail over your work bench so it's actually shading you!! You're making me sweaty and I'm just sitting in the air con watching!!!!
How bad are the bugs (mosquitoes or horse flies) if you have to wear a head net? Another good melting session to start the day before heading out to the hunting cabin.

We should call the Magpie Fanboy!
Or Mooch. Because he's always mooching nibbles off of you xD
Name the Magpie Chomper. Stand by me. Melting Yard Magpie. ❤️🇨🇦
Inside those lock mechanisms are a series of little brass pins
Oops, I see you found that out on your own.
Separate brass to copper and zinc: At 1000 C° the zinc converted to gas, colected by condenser, cooled to liquid. The ramaining is copper.
You really enjoy your work 😅
Mervyn is a good name for the Magpie
❤❤
Magnus. Magnus the magpie.
As usual, great video. I vote for magpie name Indy, like all the coins. But I do like Sterling too (posted by other commenter).
Roast beef and gravy rolls are the best !Random comment lol
33:51 really interesting to see how such a lifter is build. At work i use a similiar device nearly every day.
Nice Haul as always 🙂. Could call the magpie Cast since you do a lot of sand casting.👍
Celtic Horse Coin? Damn i would even go as far as ordering one from you ;)
If you do a beach smelt, really do a beach smelt... I mean take some sand and try to melt it int glass... I know that's not how it really works, takes a special sand, but would be fun to see...
top one
That Aluminium bronze looks like Nordic gold but without the other 2 elements

Small StackD for the visiting Magpie😅
magpie the wonder bird, rhymes with thunderbird
Slag the Maggie? Good name.
Bert d'Birb for the magpie. He or she has the look of a Bertie.
Hello
I think Brokkr (Brock) would be a great name for your magpie friend. The Norse god of forging.
Dzień dobry twórco 👍😎
was that Mrs BigstackD .... she looks after you mate
I reckon call the magpie Eddie 😊 after Eddie Maguire Australia’s head magpie
A couple of names you could call your maggie mate are Eddie (AFL reference) or Niles (reminds me of Niles from the Nanny).
I've got a random comment........how 'bout you move that shade sail over your work bench so it's actually shading you!! You're making me sweaty and I'm just sitting in the air con watching!!!!
A name for the Magpie that likes wondering around the shop could be Damascus or Short Round
Love the video keep it up
How bad are the bugs (mosquitoes or horse flies) if you have to wear a head net? Another good melting session to start the day before heading out to the hunting cabin.
