Hey guys and gals I hope you've had an awesome week and haven't been near as busy as me. I've been absolutely flat out over this neck of the woods. Today is an awesome piece from my farmer friend. He said it's been sitting around for years and he never tried to fix it when it stopped running so thought he'd clear some space and give it to me. A huge haul from this piece and a lot more than I expected that's for sure. So sit back relax enjoy the video chuck a thumbs up or Down depending on what you think of the video and the algorithm is hungry so any random comment will make it happy👌🏻😁. But most importantly At the end of the day, have a happy safe weekend. Thanks for sticking around. I appreciate you all and I hope to see you on the next one.👋🏻😁
Hello bigstackD. I learned a pretty easy way to test if metal is zinc or not, without the torch. (I do a lot of breakdowns in my basement so I don’t always have the torch nearby.) Get a bag of copper sulfate powder. Online, wherever. Usually it’s sold as root remover for pipes. Then get a clean empty spray bottle, fill it with water and dissolve about a tablespoon of the powder in it. You’ll have light blue liquid. Take whatever piece of metal you want to test and either grind or file down to clean metal. Then give it a few squirts of the liquid. If it does nothing, it’s aluminum. If it bubbles, it’s magnesium. If it turns black right away, it’s zinc. This has helped me a lot. Less mistakes, less guessing, better casts and pours with clean zinc. Thanks for the vids, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Agree - this definitely needs a pin! In the US, you can score the stuff at Home Depot and Lowes pretty cheap, although it comes as pea to bean sized crystals so you'll need to grind it up in a mortar or be patient and allow it to dissolve in water overnight.
BigSack videos are the epitome of '1 man's trash is another man's treasure' Most people would have just scrapped that generator, but look at all the metals that have been saved/recycled Nice 1👏🏼
Yeah those new coin molds are pretty awesome and thanks again for the Super!! Yeah I checked your video out this afternoon in the shed and yes I must admit they were a bit dodgy on the cuts I reckon. And that’s gonna add probably 50 hours minimum to the shredded build. Just leave an appropriate review for the Company I would suggest💪🏻. I know you’ll make it perfect so looking forward to it buddy. Have a great weekend mate. I need to go mow some bloody lawns as they lifted the fire band for a day but I think it’ll be on for the next three or four days unfortunately 🤔🙏🏻.
a lot of that is because because until the surface heats up, it will condense water out of the actually extremely humid flame. you wouldn't see that if the fuel source was coke or charcoal as such dehydrogenated fuels don't produce water when they burn.
Yaaaay the shoes being tossed and the cheers bit is back! I always have a beer ready to go when watching, and would cheers at the screen with our BigStackD! But it’s been awhile and now it’s back!
Same to you my friend. Cheers for the super thanks once again buddy, appreciate the ongoing support you’re an absolute champion. A quiet Christmas over this way that’s for sure. My youngest kid is 14 so we don’t really do the Santa thing anymore but will still have decorations and put a tree up. I’ll probably just spend it working in the garden or in the shed I reckon. Anyway buddy, thanks again have an awesome Christmas and I will speak with you soon.
Same to you buddy! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from my family to yours! And cheers heaps for the generous Super Thanks mate I really appreciate it. Just about to start next weeks video and its already 40°C 104°F outside . Not to worry its almost beer time and that'll keep me motivated in the heat . Thanks again matey have a great weekend👊😁.
This Christmas I’m going to set up my new TV. And for the first time in 7 years, instead of only being able to watch on my iPhone, I’m going to be able to watch BigstackD on a 50inch screen! Hurray!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE 🎄🎁
You're mixing your metaphors a bit, but as a longtime viewer here, I absolutely concur. I cannot enjoy my weekend until I've watched the latest video. I've actually begun accumulating the raw materials and some of the supplies necessary to do my own melting & casting. I've been a scrapper for years, but always sold it to the scrapyard, and looking back at the amounts of copper, aluminum, brass, & zinc that I've handed over, it almost hurts.
Welcome! These vids usually get 2 or 3 rewatches from me, since I usually watch at bedtime and they conk me right out haha great channel with loads of relaxing, satisfying videos 🙂🤙
Earlier in the vid you hoped we enjoy watching the vid's, well guess what anybody that doesn't enjoy watching watching what you do just doesn't understand what it's all about.i myself will probably never melt any but I love watching what you do. I sometimes even jot down notes for myself. I find your work very interesting.
Hello from Washington State, USA. Great to see a BigStackD video go up. I almost forgot it was Friday Morning here until I saw your video come up! It's been a busy day, and it's nice to be able to relax with one of your melts. I think your little magpie friend is going to start riding on your shoulder if you're not careful. He sems to really like you.
Ugh, I can't tell you how much I hate dealing with flathead screws. Beautiful additions to the stack. Hope you have a good holiday and new year celebration, BigStackD.
Thanks mate for this video, it SLIGHTLY takes my mind off the missing of our puppy miniature schnauzer. It also answers your question;,, what are you gonna do for Christmas.... searching, searching, searching. She is only 9 months old, missing for a week now. Hearthbroken
Happy holidays from Canada, I'm sending you some frosty thoughts of our rivers and lakes freezing to become ice roads. -24c here at the moment. Stay cool my friend, that's some crazy heat you survive over there.
Love the look and utilitarian feel of that good ol' military hardware, and of course the classic O.D. Green color. Thank you again for another great breakdown and melt! :)
Just got back from a visit to the family in north Georgia, and I'm wore out from driving around for 7 days. Now, I can grab a "wobble pop" (beer), and relax in the woods and watch a great vidjeo from my Aussie friend! Merry Christmas to Mr. & Mrs. BigD, and to everyone else who's watching!
It's just been my dad and I for over 20 years for Christmas. My mom passed away 2 days after Christmas, so there's that. But we doing ok. I hope you and yours have a good Christmas and a safe and happy New Year!
I have been watching you now for as couple of years. I am now an even BIGGER Fan since you have the elemental stones from the Fifth Element.....Best Movie ever!
No plans until after Christmas. But that’s ok by me. At my age (61) I’ve got all I want or need and I’m content with a quiet Christmas…. Then I get to see my son, daughter in law and my GRANDSON! ❤❤ merry Christmas to the BigStackD family!
Loved the disassemble! Loved the ice smash! Always finding new ways to keep us entertained 😊. I'm still your biggest fan. See ya next week my friend!! 😁
Great content as always! The holidays for my family will consist of a dinner since all the kids in the family have families of their own now. Happy Holidays to you and your family from the states! Cheers!
I was surprised that there was only 15Kg of ingots and coins. When you broke it down it looked like a lot more. Oh well loved the video have only been a subscriber for a few months but i am almost through all the previous videos. Keep up the good work! Thanks
I'm finally going to start melting after the first of the year! I wish it was 100F here in Montana instead of 30F 😩 You've got me through so many rough patches over the last year, so, from my heart, thank you and merry Christmas!
Was over your way last month for a couple of weeks...all over the place..stayed in Bunbury Big 4 for a few nights..talk about hot Trev.. couldn't believe how much the whole place has expanded in the decade since last there..
Hello, mate How are you? What a lovely old engine, you've got a lot of metal for your pile, a great way to make hard-boiled eggs. I've been watching many of your videos over the past few years, and I noticed the ones where you melt down aluminium cans, but I’ve never seen any Australian beer cans in your videos. Don’t you drink Australian beer? For example, Fosters, Swan, Victoria, or XXXX Gold. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas! Cheers, Max
No mate, I stick with the good old Mexican Corona even though everyone hates that. I certainly won’t drink Australian beer as that is absolutely terrible. Yes might as well utilise the boiling water for the eggs I suppose and also a nice quick snack. Thanks again for the super Thanks much appreciated buddy. Have yourself an awesome Christmas and a happy New Year mate. Take care be safe. Talk soon 👊🏻😁
I love watching your melting videos they are mysterious and relaxing. I've had the pleasure to go to the great country of Australia by way of Alabama. I love it over there very nice, stand up people, very beautiful country.
Well, whenever you do start melting, just hit me up on my email in my description and I’ll send a heap of start-up tips and a discount link on the furnaces👊🏻😁
I definitely have a new found respect for you lol, ive been watching for years and just recently got the motivation to fire up the foundry again and broke down my first motor, I've mainly just melted down loose scrap and a few days ago I broke down my first actual motor... those windings are no joke! 😂 you always make it look so easy, I feel like I've been lied to lol, that being said I love your videos and I hope you keep doing the hard work for me for many videos to come 👍
It’s 1145 pm Friday EST here in Detroit and I’m finally off work and able to relax with a glass of whiskey and watch some Bigstackd… good times 😊🥃 Happy Holidays good sir 🎄🎊🥳
home early from work because of my back, doc says to take it easy for a few hours. i figure what better way than to settle into my chair with my dog in my lap watching the latest BIGSTACKD video
Control box scene at 18 minutes is absolutely hilarious 😂I was thinking ok cool something easy to start day 3. He opened it up and said ooofff I'll save this for later 😂😂😂
I got your email and picked up a 10kg devil forge! Thank you! The email was very informative and helpful! Gonna start my first melt finally later this evening! ❤
Bugger all plans for Christmas. Ignoring it completely. Watching this in zero degrees made me miss the WA summer. I think I've forgotten how nasty 39 degrees is though! Have a great Christmas and New Year, mate. Geoff in France (formerly a Freo lad).
Awesome video, I see you got smart using the electric cutting grinder on some of the bolts. I noticed that the temperature is starting to get hot there, it was 38 degrees or 3.3c at 8:30 am Friday in Texas. Stay cool and hydrated and see ya next week. 😊🍺
😢 Yeah this year has really kicked my arse, I'll be spending christmas, alone. Not looking forward to it. But it is what it is. I've lost absolutely everything. Bit I haven't lost your awesome videos! I forgot how much I loved seeing things getting smacked with a FBH, then whacked in a furnace. We had a giant arc furnace and a smaller induction furnace. Was pretty cool to see the different recipes for different alloys. Thank you BigstackD for the videos.❤
Hope you have a Merry Christmas. My daughter and son-in-law are bringing the 18 month old twins up. So lots of eating and naps are planned. Thanks for the video.
Actually mate to edit this video took me about 25 hours. I just had the last little bit to edit , It’s a very timely process and definitely the longest part of the whole production. That’s why I only put out one vid a week.
I think this is a vid from heaven, eat lamb and drink beer every day and get to disassemble whatever mechanical things. Not to forget playing with fire every day. Damn, I wanna move to Aus instead of Finland.
For Christmas, I plan on resting up. I've got a chest cold and I sound like Ingot getting a belly rub. Restricted airways-a-plenty, now landing in Ohio. Cheers mate, I love the aluminium melts the most. The surface tension always gets me grinning.
That 38° day was a warm one. Was glad i wasnt busy at work. Managed to just plod along. I have a couple electric motors, a generator and a box of copper and brass bits and wires that i will donate to you sometime.
We had something just like your Barby in a box back in the 80s in Pennsylvania, USA, but they never caught on. The local store dumped the stock at the end of summer for $0.50 each and my mom was smart enough to buy them all - we were using them for decades - she says she still has a few - either in the backyard like you or taking on trips to the park and other places where we could grill - they were awesome! They didn't have the wires to raise them off a surface so we ended up BBQing a picnic table when not thinking, we put it directly on the wooden table.
Ouch! I feel you, mate. We had our 39 to 42 deg C week as well. I just stay indoors and move as little as possible. Those ribs look amazing! Gives me an idea what to cook tomorrow. Lamb ribs on the braai.
Hey guys and gals I hope you've had an awesome week and haven't been near as busy as me. I've been absolutely flat out over this neck of the woods. Today is an awesome piece from my farmer friend. Have a great weekend D. I'm enjoying my 2 weeks off work right now. Hope to see another Orbeez video again one day!
What did the magpie end up getting named?
I would have left the control panel as it was. It looked cool. Oh well it's your stuff.
You have a good week as.well.
That little doll, is that a #9 doll?
Hello bigstackD. I learned a pretty easy way to test if metal is zinc or not, without the torch. (I do a lot of breakdowns in my basement so I don’t always have the torch nearby.)

Bump! This is some great info!
Someone pin this

never ceases to amaze me how you can put a torch to something that looks dry and see it get dryer

Super good tear down and melt. Really enjoyed it . I had no idea there was that much different metal in a generator. Thanks and stay cool
Cheers brother, glad you enjoyed it! Keep watching and I’ll keep on melting! 👍🏻

Love how well the Aussie ice cubes store outdoors in the summers but watch out, the dropbears do love an ice cube on a hot day...
Ugh, I can't tell you how much I hate dealing with flathead screws.
Beautiful additions to the stack. Hope you have a good holiday and new year celebration, BigStackD.

Hello, mate
How are you?
Talk soon 👊🏻😁
u are funny and cool guy.. u love life(birds, lizards..etc) thnks a lot for share whit us your nice moments from each day when u work..

Merry Christmas from California, USA Love the Channel!
Was going to complain that you never do fun sock reveals any more... good to see you haven't forgotten your roots :)
Another great video. I always like when you put little facts and tips in the video so i can screenshot them for when i start melting.
😂 you always make it look so easy, I feel like I've been lied to lol, that being said I love your videos and I hope you keep doing the hard work for me for many videos to come 👍
Merry Christmas to you and yours. And of course to the boys.
It’s 1145 pm Friday EST here in Detroit and I’m finally off work and able to relax with a glass of whiskey and watch some Bigstackd… good times 😊🥃
Happy Holidays good sir 🎄🎊🥳
1:10:00 glad to see you chose the can of Lemmy.🤘
home early from work because of my back, doc says to take it easy for a few hours. i figure what better way than to settle into my chair with my dog in my lap watching the latest BIGSTACKD video
Wow, lot of melting today. Like the egg snack. Merry Christmas from West Melbourne Florida. Love to the wife and the pups.
😂😂😂 the iPod. I hope you have an amazing Christmas guy! Thanks for another year of great videos
Thanks for the kind words and merry Christmas to you too bud!
As soon as you mentioned the shredder I was anxious to see it in action.
Nice haul, lots of zinc for those womderful coins. The tin looked really nice. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays
Gotta love Fridays,Merry Christmas to you and family from the East.
We are finally here at Friday with @BigStackD!!!!
I am from Pennsylvania. I enjoy and know long it takes to do this . Thanks for a great you tubechannel
Man, I love those zinc and brass coins! Poor man's silver lol! Cheers! 🍺
Awesome video, I see you got smart using the electric cutting grinder on some of the bolts. I noticed that the temperature is starting to get hot there, it was 38 degrees or 3.3c at 8:30 am Friday in Texas. Stay cool and hydrated and see ya next week. 😊🍺
Random comment. Those eggs looked nice, clever little Ozzy hens. UK hens put a picture of a lion on their eggs as well.
They're a pain to refill when their ink runs out though.
You’re lucky you only have spy planes. I live in NJ. We got drones. 😂 That tear down looked like a rough one. We appreciate your hard work.
Going to visit and stay with my sister out in Kent. Lots of food and beer. Thanks for asking. From Jakob from SE London in the UK....
Sweet I got in before the 1 hour mark with a few mins to spare. Cheers from Texas USA
Hope you have a Merry Christmas. My daughter and son-in-law are bringing the 18 month old twins up. So lots of eating and naps are planned. Thanks for the video.
I always Look for your notices showing new videos. I can watch them all day. Got to have my monkey minutes! 👍🏻
10 hours to edit one video!!! That’s insane!! Keep them coming.
Actually mate to edit this video took me about 25 hours. I just had the last little bit to edit , It’s a very timely process and definitely the longest part of the whole production. That’s why I only put out one vid a week.
A one hour video on this channel normally takes about 20 hours to edit give or take an hour
I love it when you’re hitting stuff with a hammer and edit the video to make it sound like a tune!
Makes me wanna hear more! 😃
Love the boot kick, but especially love the socks.
Hello and thank you ! Another great clip to start the weekend and holidays! Yooooooohooooo!
I think this is a vid from heaven, eat lamb and drink beer every day and get to disassemble whatever mechanical things. Not to forget playing with fire every day. Damn, I wanna move to Aus instead of Finland.
I love the addition of the historical coins. I'd be even happier if there were some dimensionally accurate ones.
For Christmas, I plan on resting up. I've got a chest cold and I sound like Ingot getting a belly rub. Restricted airways-a-plenty, now landing in Ohio. Cheers mate, I love the aluminium melts the most. The surface tension always gets me grinning.
you're getting close to needed a new tree stump. Been funny watching it get a little smaller each week. Great vid as always
As someone who lives on the the border of Wisconsin, seeing a old Wisconsin engine in Australia is quite a hoot lol. Absolutely loved the melt👍
Awesome videos this week, I look forward to each week.
Those coins look fookin awesome 🖤 the Vegvisir especially looked wicked. Have a good one brother 🤘
I’m loving the new molds, those make for some amazing looking coins!!
A great haul of different metals and alloys, there. The brass coins came up better than expected. You can't beat the liquid orange, though.
That 38° day was a warm one. Was glad i wasnt busy at work. Managed to just plod along.
I have a couple electric motors, a generator and a box of copper and brass bits and wires that i will donate to you sometime.
Great tear down. Had a little bit of everything in there.
Bloody awesome mate. Love your videos and your dogs. I used to mold casting up to 80 tons.
Your vids are the highlight of every Friday
Christmas came early, thank you Mr. bigstackD 🎄
I always randomly realize that this channel exists, and then I go and binge watch melting videos. So addicting lol
I love how clean and lovely the coins came out!
Can't believe you went out driving during the Drop Bear Hour, braver than the rest of us
thanks for putting up with heat for us, enjoyed the melt, birds and of course puppies! take care eh!
