    @11:30 either have the car on the ground, or have a friend to help disconnect the fuel line and sender wire as you lower the tank. Also… everyone remember to take the gas cap off the tank first or it can get hung up and bend the filler neck. I had a shop replace my sender unit (gas gauge stopped working) and after getting it back the fuel nozzle would just fall out on the ground when I tried to fill the tank with gas. With the license plate down you could see what looked like JB Weld all over the top of the filler neck. The shop that did the work denied they were responsible and claimed it was like that when I brought it in… it wasn’t. Anyway.. just sharing to hopefully help others. My recommendation is just lower the tank with the car on the ground.. a whole lot easier to control. Enjoyed the video!! Rock on brother!!

    Got my LY6 torn down today ready to install the new cam still so many things to get done and still so much to buy! But Like You I’m not going to cut corners and not buying cheap parts! Saving $$$$ by doing it myself!

    No problem with 40+ minute video, other than I had to take my vitamins and brew a fresh pot of my Chock full O'nuts coffee and then I was ready to watch. Of course now I'll be up all night, but no problem. This upload is definitely worth a re-watch.

    Hey Chris, thanks for the detail in the videos, we just recently joined your channel. My 10yr old son and I just got a 69 and going to do a LS swap. We just ordered all the components listed in the video for the gas tank and accessories. Was around $900.on Summit. Please keep the videos coming on the 69 project they are VERY helpful.

    Amazing how many modifications are needed on the Ls swap. Will definitely be worth the effort when it’s done !

    Yes! Doing it right! Ppl don’t quite understand the time it takes on project like this! The $$$$ is whole different problem when you’re married! “That fuel system cost how much and going to take you two weekends to install it!”

    Chris, I have the exact same car/motor and threw on the Holley Midmount system and although I haven't started the car and ran it, the fitment is perfect.

      I haven't started mine yet either but I'm happy with the ICT billet alternator bracket and dirty dingo low mount AC bracket

      @@ChrisSullivan69 So, I haven't made it to the end of the video yet...did the headers fit around the steering box?

    • @codyedmondson1036
      @codyedmondson1036 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like it worked on the headers! The pedal bracket you made is money. Thanks for posting that. I do know that the terminator x MAX is saying that the pedal has to be a GM 10379038...off a CTSV for my build(ls6). Did you have any issues running the Camaro pedal? Great video

    • @ChrisSullivan69
      @ChrisSullivan69  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@codyedmondson1036 I havent started mine yet. I read the same thing but also read that the pinout for almost all of the gen 4 LS cars (camaro, ctsv, corvette etc) is the same and other people have used them without issues. I have the pedal so I'm going to give it a try before I waste money buying another one

    Chris - just came across your channel a few weeks ago and am following thew 69 Camaro build / LS swap. Thanks for the videos - appreciated - Is there a chance you could summarize the complete swap with a list of all manufacturers and specs you used for parts and services - ie: brand of headers, cam and specs, etc

    Hi Chris, I recently subscribed to your channel. I love your install. I am planning to put an LS7 in my 1969, backed by the T56 Magnum. I have a question about the alternator you wound up installing. What year Chevy Truck/Model/Engine Size/Transmission did you select for that particular alternator? I have the ICT low mount kit you used on order. Shopping Oreilly's/Autozone for the alternator. Also, a new option for your install on the LS pedal. Hooker just released Part Number 145-130 ($69.95) for 67-69 Camaros. A black powder coated bracket that bolts to stock holes in the firewall. Very similar to your design. Works with Hooker's LS pedal or GM pedal. Post some update videos as you drive the car. Thanks for your hard work. And your viewers don't mind how long your videos are. Great content.

      Nice! Wish I could have just ordered a bracket lol. I thought I had the part number I used in the video but maybe not. It's an Amazon alternator for a 96-99 chevy truck

      @@ChrisSullivan69 Thanks. Thoroughly enjoying this set of your videos. I've watched them over and over, several times, pausing to search Summit Racing, Dirty Dingo, ICT and Holley for your parts to use on my install.

    I was thinking about header and ac compressor clearance, would it be easier if you add like a 1/4 steel plate or thinner under the engine mounts to clear both header and ac compressor ?

    I'm back. On a personal note, at what age did you start "messing" around with cars?
    As to this build, would a March pulley system have worked? Or would it have still left the alternator and A/C unit too high for the direction, the look if you will, that you wanted to achieve?
    You've mentioned a couple of times about possibly doing a mini-tub setup. I really like that idea from an aesthetic point of view in that it would allow you to go with wide wheels and a good amount of tire to help get all the power to the ground. I'm just old school in liking really wide and deep-dish wheels, if that's the route you'll go.
    FWIW, I really, really like your theme of really bringing one's attention to just the engine and getting the alternator and A/C tucked as far away and out of sight as possible.
    Once all three pedals were installed, I loved all the room/spacing there was for them. It sure beats having to wear old wrestling sneakers like I had to do with one my builds and also had to wear them when driving my friends Viper. OMG, were those pedals close.
    Well, I actually went through a pot and a half of my Chock full O'nuts coffee and it was worth every sip while spending an hour and a half watching.

    Hmm... notching the original frame so you can use off-the-shelf aftermarket brackets OR fabricating your own accessory brackets. You're confident enough to consider modifying the frame but not figuring out how to attach some stuff to the front of the engine? You could at least bang out some sloppy brackets for the time being and go back later to make something pretty with the template.

      @@ChrisSullivan69 I hear ya but this is probably my only option unless I put a standard lift through my ceiling and then I would have to take out the ceiling above where the lift would go, I have 8 foot ceilings in my 24x30 garage. Ty for the info. Awesome build you have there too btw.
