    Thank you sir! My shaft would not go in all the way. Your video and 10 minutes to remove the old seal\washers had me done.

    Good video. I enjoyed your self-deprecating humor. You're right I was learning right along with you. It looks like you did your homework, since you knew exactly what you needed to do and which tools to have ready.

      Ha, Thanks Alex. Appreciate that. I pulled mine to check it today and had to watch my own video to remember how to do it, ha.

    I believe the Black Nylon Nut seats the Oring to prevent water leaking by the shaft. Great tip identifying old wavy ring, flat washer and Oring were still in the shaft seat! Mine was still in there as well. Thanks for a good video.

    WOW!! An excellent video! Last year the crank and spring fell off and I never got things lined up right even this year when we went out it still was off and so my antenna was never down all the way but after watching your video I can see what I need to do to get it all lined up and lubed etc. and if it doesn’t go up or down right I will get that part meaning the worm gear as this unit that I bought used is a 2014 model. But again I can’t say what an excellent video you have made compared to the others I have seen on TH-cam. Thank you for sharing your expertise!

    Thanks mate. A very helpful instructional video. I am swapping my busted Sensar 4 out for a Sensar HV Freeview, which is an upgrade to a better Hor/Vert antenna. I needed to know the guts of the system before I start. Looks like I may be able to use the existing roof plate without removing all the silicone silastic etc. Cheers again.

      Thanks, good luck with the swap.

    Thanks for the video-very instructive. I could not get the old stacked rings and seal out so left them in and removed the new ones from the new worm gear shaft. Hope that works !

      @MarionBlair  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you. You should be able to get to the staked ring from the side where the antenna arm goes up. I'd try to get them out and replace them.

      Perhaps when I next get on the roof to lube it I will try again to replace those rings...Can you give any hints about hot to go about it? Can they be pushed up from below? What type of tool should I use? Looks like you have something akin to a dental scraper there.

    Thanks for the video. Seeing it done really helped especially the part about the old quad ring. On mine the base was wobbling and I tightened the 15/16 nut under the base and it tightened up. I believe that was where it was leaking.

      Wayne Relstab hello can uou help me by specifically telling me where that 15/16 nut is you tight up because of head wobble as mine is wobbly. What do I need to take apart to be able to tighten it up flush like it should be? Thank you

      Ginna Witters-Evans I don't know of a 15/16 nut other than maybe the plastic cap but it's not an adjustment of any kind. The only way to tighten the crank is to remove the rod and cut a little off or tighten the spring a little.

    • @MarionBlair
      @MarionBlair  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no adjustment other than the length of the aluminum rod. You can try cutting off a quarter of an inch and that will tighten it up. The quad ring kit is about $12, if possible change it out but be sure and dig out the old quad rings. Just use the allen wrench (hex) and remove the handle in the RV, then go up and remove the antenna and the quad ring assembly. Watch the video, it's got the instructions.

    I had to replace the three rings on my work gear (rain got in when the antenna was up). Winegard sent the rings and instruction sheet pretty quickly, but I found that the instructions left a bit too much to the imagination. This video talked me through all the important parts. Even a dummy like me figured it out. Thanks for posting!

      Thanks, It's very simple, the only thing as you can see that caught me by surprise was the shaft length needed to be adjusted.

  • @markmezo
    @markmezo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I found if you take the weight off the arm by lifting it a couple of inches it centres up elevation shaft enough to start the plastic nut.

    Hey Marion....that defect on the treaded portion of the cap is designed to prevent the cap from backing off over time. a molded in tread lock. :-)...

    Good video long enough for me to keep up real time. Those cuts need to be precise. I am gonna have to shorten mine a little more in the morning.

    • @MarionBlair

      Yes, agree. I cut mine a little short so as I felt the spring tension wasn't enough and the crank would wobble when I turned it. Works great now.

      Did you remove the rubber cap and spray your silicone lubricating the rotator of the antenna whilst on the roof?

    What are these other guys referring to with a "13/16 thin walled socket"? Maybe they are replacing the entire assembly?

      HI, That the FM Radio antenna for the stereo, DVD etc.. My TV antenna hits it when I rotate that way, ha. You'd think they could have moved it over a few inches or so.

    • @MarionBlair

      Is your made like my antenna. If so, it's the part that allows it to swivel but nothing should be banging.
