Arrhythmia- a little over a year ago you were celebrating 3,000 subscribers. You are so down to earth and amazing. Thank you for sharing💞💞
Thanks so much! I admit, your auto-correct of my name (never been called THAT before! lol!) made me think maybe this was a spam comment, but I appreciate your support and you made me smile! Thanks for watching!
Ardyth Percy-Robb OMG, I was in such a hurry, I didn’t notice. It would be hard to believe that I actually won state competition for typing in high school. That shows how young/old I am. I am glad you smiled. 🥴🥰
@@dianaking9495 LOL! I'm sure you typed it correctly and your device thought it knew better! I think we're all getting more fluent in 'auto-correct'!
Hi Ardyth. Thanks for all the great ideas. I always struggle with taking someone's design and making it my own. Your limes acronym is helpful. However, I honestly think your cards are completely your own. If you put them side by side with the original, I think it is a huge stretch to see that your cards were inspired by the 3 gnomes.
Thanks so much for watching!
These cards are so cute. I love videos that teach how to make things your own. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much!
Putting these lime directions front and center on my work area. Have so many cards I’d like to make but wasn’t sure the correct way to “copy” them. So helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! That's a big compliment! I'm so glad you find it helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
Great advice for how to make a card you admire your own. Allows you to use materials you already have and encourages creativity.
Exactly! Thanks so much for watching, Karen!
I've never been able to copy someone's card and feel it was good enough to send, but I do get inspiration and ideas from other's cards! I like the cards you created today and they were a good example of how to use someone else's ideas!
Thanks so much for watching!
I like to put my spin on inspiration cards...but LIMES is so incredibly helpful!!! I loved all of your cards!
I'm so glad you find it helpful! Thanks for watching!
Just watched another of your videos dated March 30, 2021 on LIMES. That sent me searching for more and I landed here. I have been making cards for almost 3 years and I get lots of complements from the recipients for my "talent". But most of them have been copies and I didn't feel worthy of the praise. This gives me a way to actively think about how to make a card my own and I am so excited to try it for my next card. Thanks!
I think copying is fine if you're honest with yourself (and it sounds like you are!). It's a great way to learn but I think that it's more fun to change it up a bit, so I'm glad you found LIMES useful! Thanks so much for watching!
This is a great tool. Thanks for sharing. I love the penguins!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for all the variation and change ups! Love the cards.
I love penguins, so, my favorite is the last penguins.
Thanks so much for watching!
I’m pretty bad at following instructions or doing the exact same thing twice, so I don’t usually have a problem making cards my own. But I like the systematic way you’ve broken this down. And the listing can also help figure out WHY a certain card speaks to you, which might help me save some money when I see card samples - often it’s not the actual product I’m excited about but the colors or style or a technique. I’m going to try this out. Thanks!
I think you nailed it - you can get the look of something that inspires you without the exact same products, if you understand why it inspires you. Thanks so much for watching!
Ardyth, I loved your spin on all 3 cards. Great job. I personally don't feel comfortable completely casing somebody else's cards. However, I will and have used others' cards for ideas but also doing what you just did by putting my own spin on it. 😊
Thanks so much for watching!
Love all your cards, as always!!! Thanks for some wonderful tips to CASE cards!!! I heard Tim Holtz say once that copying a card is just like getting a cooking recipe from the internet. You either copy it completely or you modify it to fit what you have or what you like. I do struggle with CASEing, though, so I’m going to try your tips. Just might help my creative process not take so long😁
That's awesome, I haven't heard that before, but I agree! Thanks so much for watching!
Brenda Gentry ...thank you for posting Tim Holtz analogy concerning a recipe. It makes so much sense.
Susan Sisk you are so welcome! Yes, I loved how he put it!
Your talent is higher than your subscribers show. You should have about twice as many subscribers.
Oh wow, that is such a nice thing to say! Hopefully everyone heard you say it! lol! Thanks for watching!
I love this video! Trying to CASE a card without copying it can be a challenge. This video provides a great roadmap to follow,, especially for those ( like me ) who can be creatively challenged at times. I love that you showed several cards that each had a different look. It was also very helpful to see the original card. Thank you for an excellent video❤️
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
Brilliant, Ardyth! I'm going to be thinking LIMES all the time now! Thank you for the inspiration and the fabulous cards!
hugs~c
Thanks, Carol!
Love 'limes'! So smart! Cards turned out great!
Thanks, Dawn!
Much appreciate your clear, structured presentation, Ardyth. It gave me a way to consciously to analyze inspiration pieces. LIMES will help met to look at inspiration pieces; then, to make the most of my supplies and techniques toolbox. Your examples and grading analyses were very helpful. Understanding the process is key. Thank-you so much!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
As a male crafter, this opened my eyes your LIMES technique, as I do my own spin on things, but your aconine helps on how to do it logically. Thank you.
So glad you find it useful! Thanks for watching!
Great personal touch on these! Thanks for the LIMES!
Thanks so much!
I use cards for inspiration...layout, color options, but always put my own twist in my own style.
Thanks so much for watching!
THIS. IS. BRILLIANT. I love your limes take on it. 😁😁🎨
Thank you, my friend!
Such great guidance on producing something original whilst taking elements of inspiration from elsewhere! :)
Thanks so much! There is so much inspiration around us, which is part of what makes this craft so amazing! Thanks for watching!
This is such a fantastic video. I often see cards that inspire me but I don't like to copy. I hope to use your lines techniques to create lovely inspired but not same cards. Thank you very much for sharing. 💞
Edit- I noticed I had accidentally unsubscribed to your channel. I just subscribed again.
So glad you found it helpful! And thanks for fixing your 'mistake'! LOL! Thanks for watching!
@@ardyth 😊💞
I always take the inspirations and make them my own. I use the cards as a 'jumping off point'. Thanks for giving me an acronym for it.
Inspiration 'challenges' are my favourite - sounds like maybe your's too! Thanks so much for watching!
What a great video. Thank you. One small suggestion. It would be nice to see all six cards at the end. Best wishes Jackie.
Thanks for the feedback. I wonder if you mean that you think I could have shown each of the 3 I made next to Michelle's card. (not sure what you mean by 6 cards). I think then you could have seen clearly how each one compared to the inspiration. And that's a great idea! Thanks for watching!
You gave great ideas for changing up the elements. Good job!
Thanks so much! 😊
Loved this tutorial. You did a great job explaining how we CASE cards. My favorite card was the polka dotted one, I did like them all! TFS
I think that was my favourite too! Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for sharing your thought process on making the elements of a card someone else made into your own! I guess I do this too, I just didn't know to call it LIMES! I like the tree card the best! Blessings...
Haha! I didn't either. You should have seen me with my thesaurus trying to come up with an acronym! lol! Thanks so much for watching Kris!
Fabulous cards!!! So happy to watch this video---it's like having a little visit with you :) Thanks for all of the great design tips!!! And LIMES is such an easy way to remember them!!! Hugs!
Aw, that's so nice - now make a video so I can visit you! lol! Thanks for watching, Lisa! Stay well!
These are terrific! So inspiring!
Thanks so much for watching!
Well done! I have always been impressed when u do a CASE. Thanks for the awesome, easy hint! 😀
Haha! I've been doing it for a long, LONG time! Thanks so much for watching Vicki - great to hear from you!
Thanks for the wonderful tips! Love your cards 😍
Thanks so much!
This video reminds me of the Muse challenge! I wish you did it during those days. But no one could have done this video as good and explained so well. For cardmakers like me, who have such big list of artists that they'd like to CASE, I hope I'll remember limes ! I loved all your cards, don't know which to choose as a fav.
Haha! Muse was probably part of the reason I was able to put this together. Not sure I was even making videos back then, but it just shows that we're always learning! Thanks so much, Ishani!
What an awesome video. Thank you for the lesson and the awesome inspiration. New subbie here. Can’t wait to catch some of your older videos
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching!
Your cards look so fun! I enjoyed the thought process. I need to use your idea as I have trouble putting my spin on a card I am CASE and not just copy.
Thank you! I've been doing this a long time, so I know I love bright colours and lots of sparkle - I add them to pretty much any card I'm CASing! Thanks so much for watching!
Another genius suggestion, I often struggle with this and nearly always ending up copying the design and maybe just switching out the colours. Will definitely use the Limes approach next time Insee something that inspires me.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you think it's helpful!
Nice mnemonic! Funny, the penguin card was my favorite.😉 thank you for the great tips, I see this working with sketches as well.
You should have seen me with my thesaurus trying to find words that worked that made a word! lol! I like the penguin card, too, but overall, 'critters' are not usually my favourite, even though they're cute! Thanks so much for watching!
Love this so much!!! I have done some of these ways to make it my own, but this was a much more thorough approach, and a memorable acronym always helps! TY, Ardyth!!!
Thanks so much, Karen!
Thank You for the awesome tip. I will definitely use it. 💕
Thanks for wattching!
I give you an A+ for them all. Great cards and awesome inspiration! 💕
You are very sweet! Thanks so much for watching!
Absolutely genius!!!!
Thanks so much, Kim!
Those are awesome ideas. Can't wait to give this concept to try.
Thanks so much for watching!
LIMES! That is amazing, thank you. I will be using this.. Great cards!!!
Thanks so much for watching!
I love the bomb card beautiful! The coloring and colors you used are great, the stripes make the nomb stand right out, the cards are all great. The dots on the noel card make it bright. The penguins are so cute! The. And the card is so cute! You could make alot of one of these for xmas cards( I like to make one design and send to everybody). It was such a joy to watch all you did, Thank- you very much!🙂💜
Thanks so much! I have 3 videos about making 'assembly-line' cards efficiently, if you're interested. Thanks for watching!
Love your cards and the video is very helpful!
Thanks so much!
WOW- Ardyth, these are adorable and beautiful cards. I just love your Limes technique. Will be thinking Limes every time I see another card idea I like. Thank you for this great idea. God bless you
Thanks so much!
Wow this is a great idea. I tend to get stuck sometimes and this really helps thank you 😻
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Love the penguins & JOY sentiment best. Penguins remind me of cold, winter, & holidays.
Thanks so much for watching!
Great tips in this informative and creative video. Thanks so much for the inspiration on how to pay homage to another creator but with our own spin on it.
Thanks so much, Wendy!
Great cards and great tips!
Thanks so much!
Arydth : But I really did minimal shading
Also Arydth : **shaded the card perfectly**
LOL! I feel like a 'real' TH-camr to get a comment like that! Thanks so much!
@@ardyth ; You’re welcome, and thank you for the heart too, I’ve only known you for 20 hours, but I can already tell you’re a lovely person 🌚🍷

I love them all. Your LIMES technique!
Thanks so much!
Adorable cards and great education. You make it look easy and I know it isn’t!
Thank you so much!
Adorable cards!!! Loved the tutorial! Lots of great tips. LIMES a great tool❤️
Thanks so much, Linda - I had to get out a thesaurus to make up the acronym - I started with list, focus, change, leave out, twist. LOL! Thanks for watching!
Brilliant video Ardyth! I love your concepts and LIME theory.
Many thanks for the wonderful inspiration, I will be giving this
a try.
Keep well.

Thanks so much Tracey!
Great cards and excellent concept.
Thanks so much!
Thats a great tip, thank you Ardyth.

Loved your three and the inspiration card!❤️

I love the penguin card!! So adorable.
Thanks so much!
Such an awesome video - I always learn new things from your videos! Thanks so much for being my guest :)
I am so honoured that you asked me to be your first guest this year! I can't wait to follow the next 37! lol!
This reminds me of what I taught my Bible study kids today. What is the purpose of your life? KLEG- Know God, Love Him, Enjoy Him and Glorify Him. Acronyms are easy ways to remember things. 😀 Beautiful cards. The Christmas tree one is my favorite.
Thanks so much for watching!
Adorable cards 🥰 I love your card designs ❤ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx

O M G your cards are adorable!!! I really enjoyed what you did in this demo, thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!
i never have all the poducts so i cant copy but i always take a look at others cards and get ideas from the parts i like and make it my own plus i use recycled/found materials or cheap as possiable so i dont worry about messing up and wasting expensive materials
That's smart! Thanks so much for watching!
I loved all your videos. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. I would like to know what program you used to keep track of all the dies, stamps, etc. Do you have a tutorial for that?
I use Evernote and I have a tutorial for it - here's the link: th-cam.com/video/oRBR9-XxdDA/w-d-xo.html
All your cards are adorable. I think it’d fine to “copy” and give credit. Copying allows you some guidance to put your own spin on it to me. TFS
I agree! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Ardyth, three beautiful cards! I’ll have to remember LIMES!😄
Thanks, Michelle! I hope it's helpful as well as a little humorous! Thanks for watching!
Great idea to use LIMES technique
Thanks so much for watching!
I would give you an A+ on all!!!
Oh, you are very sweet! Thanks so much for watching!
I love all 3 cards, but I think the penguins are my favorite.
Thanks so much for watching!
Hi there! Thank you so much for this video!! I'm a cardmaker myself and am curious-- Do I HAVE to have/be a blogger in order to be recognized and make it in the industry?
That's an interesting question. I started with a blog, so I can't speak to the success of other methods. I also think it depends what you mean bey 'make it in the industry'. You can make videos and 'make it' on TH-cam. You can share photos and 'make it' on Insta. If you want to be on company design teams, currently the model is to have (and share) a blog as a minimum. Let me find a link to a video my friend Justine Hovey did last year, about how the industry works. I'm sure you will find her knowledge and experience helpful! Thanks for watching!
Here's the link to Justine's video: th-cam.com/video/cw-LgIFZxyU/w-d-xo.html
Great ideas!

Great ideas.
Thank you! 😊
Love the L-I-M-E-S ...i don't sell my cards, I do copy someone-sometimes...but somehow end up with a version of my own.
I don't have friends that craft and they surely don't make cards. So it isn't as pathetic as it sounds, but once I copied one person to a T, but it was for me (No-i didn't write in it, or send to myself 🤣🤣)...just on display because I loved the card.
But I will be remembering limes the next time I create.
Haha! No judgement here - I have copied others too - sometimes there's no way to improve a card design! And I have cards that I keep as well. Thanks so much for watching!
Will be thinking of LIMES the next time I case a card
Yay! Thanks so much for watching!
The epitome of paper crafting, and other hobbies are about sharing ideas and techniques. Not sure I've ever ran across someone that purposely sets out to "copy" an idea, but to re-create it.
I agree! Thanks so much for watching!
I almost never have the exact tools, equipment, materials that a card maker has. I honestly cannot afford to get the newest and the best out there...and were it not for a grant I got last year, I'd have even less new items. I have a friend that brought me some stamps and ink pads that are quite a long while ago retired and I have some new items from Hobby Lobby, Joanne's, and Michael's...and then there's Aliexpress and Amazon. There's also a de-stash group I joined that I was able to get some bargain stamps and dies from. I also have some things like wood-block stamps and various colored card stocks I saved from my earlier card-making business in 1996-1998 when I bought by the ream from a local printer because there were NO materials like there are available today. Anyway, I'm not able to use any of the new and fancier items at all. So, when I watch videos of creators, I'm not looking to replicate their card, I'm looking for the principles used...like the 3-1-1 in the original card: 3 gnomes, 1 bar, 1 circle. That is something I can use to create my own look, my own cards, using my own 'stash' of equipment. Thank you, Ardyth, for showing the principle of the card here and encouraging us to make it our own. Blessings!
So gad you found it helpful Christie - we definitely can get more out of what we have already! Thanks so much for watching!
@@ardyth Thank you. I know this is an old video. Kind of you to acknowledge my comment. I've found you just before the summit, and now I am watching previous videos. You have a kind and gentle demeanor, and are a great help sharing your tips and hints. Thank you!

@@ardyth Truly inspiring!!! I'm going to pull out some cards from friends and give this a whirl! Thank you

I copy cards all the time or I wouldn't make any cards. Please don't be like you know who 😂
LOL! That's ok - it's a hobby and supposed to be fun! Thanks so much for watching!
Ardyth Percy-Robb ...thank you for your open minded response. I began making Christmas cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive and some times I did/and still do copy someone else’s design. I concentrate on the smiles I hope my hand made cards would bring. I enjoyed it so much I became a state certified volunteer ombudsman for long term care nursing homes where I live and now I have a place to donate my little treasures. I don’t sell them or submit them to magazines. They are just meant to be enjoyed by the recipient. I love my hobby and I love making people smile. Thanks again.
@@susansisk829 Susan how do you get a job like that? That sounds great!
Katy Kehle ...every state has an Ombudsman’s office. They are federally and state funded but most train and certify volunteers to do the job so the entire state can be covered. We advocate for the residents by responding to complaints from various sources. I’m retired so I like completing my assignments on my own time. Unfortunately, COVID has put a temporary hold on going into nursing homes but I’m hoping things open back up soon. Contact your state office....I’m sure they would love to speak with you ☺️
@@susansisk829 That's wonderful! Such important work, especially right now! Thank you for doing that! Stay well!
